    Great video! My raptor started blowing the intake manifold off... so I thought my timing was off or the timing chain jumped a link. I watched your video abd did my 2005 raptor 700r SE just like you showed us here... however my raptor has the same issue it did before I adjusted the valves. It won't start and blows the intake manifold off. Flames come out as well. I was hoping it was a timing issue that a valve adjustment would solve but that was not it. Put new fuel pump on... New injector too... but it is still sending the explosion back thru the intake manifold. What could this possibly be?

    Thank you so much for the well done video on this. Any reason why you decided to adjust the valves to .13 rather then going lower to like .09?

    @MotoPosh Hi there. What are the signs that the valves need adjustment? I have a 2018 and I can feel a loss of power/torque? Is it one of the signs? It was right after an oil change too. Should I mention. I have right about 20 hours. I don't see how it could be related to the oil change but I just had to mention that.
    Thanks in advance

      Well it’s a little late now but a slight ticking noise can also mean loose valves

    What size is the crankshaft cover Allen head

      I believe 10mm. Its possible to use a 3/8" I think.. as long as it's not too tight in the first place

    Thanks for your vid. I adjusted my valves but i still have a noice. Do you have any idea what it could be? Thanks

      The raptor 700 valve trains are all a little noisy. What does yours sound like? Are you sure its valve noise and not timing chain related?

    • @EduardoMartinez-em5yh
      @EduardoMartinez-em5yh 5 років тому

      Thanks for replying. It's more like a rattle. It might be the timing chain because it turns of on me.

    • @Motoposh
      @Motoposh 5 років тому

      Hmm I will say my valves seem to be a little bit more noisy on startup. After I ride for 15 20 minutes and everything heats up the rattle/tick seems to quiet down significantly. Same with yours, or?

      @@Motoposh Before i adjusted the valves yes it would go away after a little riding. Im not sure now but i know i need a oil change.

    Did you have a slapping sound in your engine before tightening your valves ?

    • @Motoposh
      @Motoposh 3 роки тому

      A slapping sound is probably a loose cam chain. Ticking would be from valves

    great video! but your feeler gauge set sucks, get a motion pro tapered set they are perfect for bikes/quads and have a bunch more sizes
