    If something uses rechargeable batteries, which have very limited lifespans, then they should be user replaceable.
    I wanted one, but second hand was going to be too risky.
    Haven’t really found an alternative 😌

      It should be law to standardize batteries for sustainability AND fire safety. Single use devices made to toss when the bat goes out is also creating an unsustainable economy that will burn through good resources before we even maximize our tech. Planned obsolescence should be removed from design of the future entirely.

    OK I'm keen to try and find one of these on the used markt now, assuming IK doesn't start to make more. Would be great with iPad mini and OP-1 Field for portable production.

    since you did portable speaker, i am curious do you have any solution , a box, that could be good for portable compression and limiting(a hardware mastering tool) which could save some cpu and latency issues but get fuller and louder sound? Kinda doing search myself, but maybe you have have similar thoughts . Cheers

    Loved my iLoud… The woofer stopped working, but due to its age, IK was absolutely no help…

      @@JakobHaq There was indeed an experiment with an electric bulb showing how this difference might look like but I'm too lazy to find it and probably it's no longer in the internet, I don't even remember correctly but I think it was in russian. In any case, be good, man.

    My kick stand broke on my iLoud (never abused it) and my iLoud micro monitors died when that heavy-a$$ proprietary cable that connects the two speakers together, finally over-stressed the input jack. SO…”thumbs on sound” and “Go F’ yerself IK for all of your shotty construction, proprietary connectors and your cheap build quality!”.
    If IK ever built something of quality, I’d buy it in a heart beat. But for now…their greedy “Buy it cheap and if it dies, put it in a land fill and re-buy the whole thing over again” mentality, has me going Nancy Reagan for IK….”Just Say No”.

    Another happy iLoud user here. I'm trying to care about battery as best as I can. Such a great speaker, I really appreciate I can use AUX and BT inputs together.

    You have to connect to an ik app to use the inputs…SMH. Ive never bought anything from this company and probably never will

    • @JakobHaq
      @JakobHaq  Рік тому

      Not quite right. The regular line input works as a direct input, no app needed.
      It’s the instrument/mic input that needs an app.

    That is exactly the type of speaker I am looking for.. does it play back in stereo? I ended up with a Bose s1 pro which sounds good and can be used for bigger events, but is not very portable. Would be great if they pick up production again!

    This first version of the iLoid is also my all-time facorite bluetooth speaker. Best sounding one i ever had. I am sad too that it has been discontinued brcause i would buy it again. Mine still works but the battery is definitely getting old.

    I love that speaker as well. I ended up purchasing a second one after the first one have a bit of wear and tear and too many falls, that now lol wind frequencies make the speaker rattle that I found in tolerable. I purchased a second one which sounds as expected when wired call mom but has never properly connected via Bluetooth. By the time I got around to try to make it exchange through Amazon, the speaker is no longer available. I have an awkward workflow due to my disability, which makes it easier for me to work while sitting up in bed with the monitors facing me. Seeing this video was the first confirmation regarding my feelings about the speakers quality. I started looking at the entry level MTM monitors and I appreciate Jakob upping the monitors. I hope that the company is working on another one piece unit for it is of portability.

    I have the original Spark amp I use at home since it doesn't have a battery and its 40W and its tons loud. Solid state stuff can really crank out the volume at smaller wattages compared to tube gear. I think one step up from this would start being like mini PA units.
