I'm LDS and you'll never change that and I'm not trying to change anyone either so that being said I love you brother and I'm so grateful for you and you service, I wish I could give you a hug. Makes me sad that you'll never read this so I'm sending love and prayers out to you.
@@normabreazile5500 thats very kind of you. I pray you learn the truth for yourself then read the Book of Mormon which does not tell you what to think, how to live but does inform you on every page how much Jesus Christ loves you and all that live. Theres so much evidence, testimony and almost 20 million people that support it. Why would a pastor that lives off his congregations contributions ever want you to learn for yourself? No one in the LDS church is paid not the President down to the missionaries and everything in our storehouses is free from food to mattresses. The LDS church does more charity work than just about anyone and they never brag about it. Jesus tells you to judge us by our fruit and our fruit is clean sober educated families of course theres always exceptions we are all human. We don't worship Joseph Smith we just believe and with evidence that God chose him to start his church and we don't worship the Book of Mormon either its not more important than the Bible to us its just a story or testimony of a people long ago that loved Jesus also. I love Jesus Christ with all my heart and soul and know God is his father, to us the Bible is fact, history gospel. God bless you friend.
I think there is enough scripture and material hear for three hour long sermons. I appreciate your research. I feel like I am listening to a commentary (in a good way). Keep serving Jesus!
Joseph and Mary were kinda-sorta married... but they didn't consummate the marriage until the wedding. Just like Jesus and his Bride, the Church! We fully belong to him, but we won't consummate the marriage until the wedding supper of the Lamb!
Why would the word "Alma" (?sp) even show up in Isaiah, with one of its meanings being a virgin birth, when Isaiah was written long before Mary was bearing Jesus. It's so clear that the Holy Spirit moved abundantly in Isaiah the prophet, to even put a word in his writings that means virgin birth, when nothing of its kind had existed before. A word only meant to be filled long after, and only once in history.
Pastor Skip, I thought Mary’s parents names were Joachim and Anna. And, Heli was Joseph’s father’s name. Pls let me know where to look for the info you have on Mary. Thank you
In the Septuagint the Greek noun tektōn either stands for the generic Hebrew noun kharash (חרש), "craftsman," (as Isaiah 41:7) or tekton xylon (τέκτων ξύλον) as a word-for-word rendering of kharash-'etsim (חָרַשׁ עֵצִים) "craftsman of woods." (as Isaiah 44:13).
I have been following your sermons. However, being a pastor, you shouldn't have said "those who find it boring can text their friends'. I think that is a very rude thing to say to your audience especially coming from a pastor!!
Eve Wee, he is a pastor, not a pharisee... an imperfect human such as yourself. Why get hung up on such few words of a man? Move on and get the picture he is trying to paint...or continue endlessly looking for human perfection.
I agree Eve W. But it seems, perhaps, that Skip said that because it's a topic where Mary is prominent. Most non-Catholic/Orthodox seemed to think that any talk of Mary should be avoided as much as possible. I was in Calvary Chapel HB/CM for about 20 years. Unless I'm wrong and he says this (about texting) often.
Never teach what is not written! Where did you read God humbled himself and entered into a single cell? The bible never teachs that. The angel answerd how does she conceive by saying “And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.” - Luke 1፥35 (KJV) “For with God nothing shall be impossible.” - Luke 1፥37 (KJV) That is all! The angel never mentioned God entered into a single cell❌❌
Thank God for our western world in which we are able to freely receive Christian teaching.

Wow. You really had to step over a minefield of mariology but hit every one of them.
