*AMEN JESUS IS COMING AGAIN HALLELUJAH THANK YOU BROTHER BAGWELL FOR ANOTHER PRECISE TEACHINGS I TRULY ENJOYED, GOD BLESS YOU SISTER DEBBIE AND YOUR FAMILY 🙏🥰🇯🇲*
Thank you Pastor. Very interesting lesson! No man knows the day or the hour, but we await his return! I'm increasing in my knowledge of God and trying to remain steadfast in my walk. I don't want to be deceived or end up back slid!
Falling away- interesting thoughts. Thank you for your explanation. I always think of churches falling away, but truthfully, it happens in my heart sometimes. Falling away to meet the Lord in the air is a concept that I have never heard. Thank you for your explanation and studying.
Watched and enjoyed. Great class! Thank you for your study, brother. This is great Bible teaching. I pray we will all do our best to reach the lost before these events unfold and it’s too late. Amen, Bro. Mike.
Amen, Preacher. WoW what a lesson packed dull of Truth. I Thank God, that we are not appointed to wrath, as you have already taught. But these truths cause us to do all we can to get the gospel to the lost. Keep up your labour of love....
Before class I read and wrote verse 3 in my notebook. In reading it without the supplied words "that day shall not come," then " there come a falling away first," refers to the rapture of the Church. Apostacy in the Church was occurring in Paul's day as it is now. Thanks for the effort, Scripture references and commentary you share every other day. *Amen Brother Bagwell*
I don't want to be deceived, nor do I want to be someone who deceives. As Christians, we must stay in our orayer closers concerning this. Lord, give us discernment of the Spirit that we won't be deceived.
I was talking to a guy at work earlier today about the word Jacob in old testament and James in the new testament. Ya-ah-kove and Ee-ya-koh-boss. Deceiver. Usurper. Supplanter. Similar to anti-christ I think... Thank you for your classes! Thank you for your Love of Jesus! Praise the Lord for the remnent!
Great study, Dr. Bagwell! This study has been called the "Apocalypse of the Apostle Paul". "Apocalypse" is the Greek name for the book of Revelation. When we talk about the tribulation, there are some signs that we can see it approaching. However, there are no signs for the rapture of the church. Nothing has to happen before Jesus comes back for His church and catches us away. What must happen before the tribulation begins? First, the antichrist must be revealed. He must be revealed and identified. The tribulation is chapter 6 through 19 in the book of Revelation. Rev. 6:1-2 introduces the antichrist. Second, a falling away must occur. "Anti" means one of two things in Greek. It means "against" or "in the place of". The antichrist is against all that God is and he wants to take the place of the Lord Jesus. "Antichrist" is found 4 times in the singular and one time in the plural (1 John 2:18, 1 John 2:22, 1 John 4:3 etc.). "Deceive"/ἐξαπατάω/exapatao/to cheat. "Falling away"/ἀποστασία/apostasia/apostasy. "Man of sin" is used once and once only here in the Bible. Paul will also speak of the mystery of iniquity referring to the antichrist as well. See 1 Tim. 3:16. God has the mystery of Godliness. The mystery of Godliness is the Lord Jesus Christ. The antichrist is also called, "the son of perdition". This means the "hopelessly lost one". Only one other time "son of perdition is mentioned" is in reference to Judas (John 17:12). Old time preachers saw this connection, and they wondered if possibly the antichrist might be Judas in some fashion revived. "Falling away" means to "step away from". It means you step away from what you have believed all your life. Before the tribulation begins, there will be a stepping away from the faith. See Heb. 3:12. See 1 Tim. 4:1. "Revealed" means he will be unveiled. See Rev. 13. He is the beast out of the sea here. "Falling away" can also refer to "a departure". This could refer to the rapture of the church. This would mean that the rapture will take place before the antichrist is revealed and the tribulation begins. See 2 Tim. 2:19. This word is translated "depart" heart. See 1 Tim. 6:5. "Withdraw" is used here with the same Greek word. God is coming to withdraw us from the earth. The antichrist opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God. "Opposeth"/ἀντίκειμαι/antikeimai/to prop up against. He lifts himself as an almighty god. "Worshipped"/σέβασμα/sebasma. This is the pattern of the antichrist in that he is the devil's counterfeit. He is anti-God and by the end of the tribulation he will be anti-religion. All the devil has ever wanted is to be worshipped. See Isaiah 14:12-15. See Matthew 4:9-10. Satan showed Jesus all of the kingdoms and told Jesus he would give them to Him if he would just fall down and worship him. There will be a temple rebuilt during the tribulation and there will be one in the millennium as well. The antichrist will sit in that tribulation temple and claim to be God. This is the abomination of desolation spoken of by Daniel the prophet. "Temple"/ναός/naos/the holy of holies. See Mark 13:14, Matt. 24:15, Dan. 9:27. The antichrist is a peacemaker at the beginning of the tribulation, and he will confirm the covenant with God's people for one week. He will then be a peace breaker. He hates the nation of Israel (Revelation 12). He is a persecutor of God's children and Gods' people the nation of Israel. (Rev. 12:17) He is going to be a prisoner one of these days. God is going to deal with him. See Rev. 19:20. He will be cast into the lake of fire. God will win the victory and Jesus will be the overcomer. This is the culmination of Psalm chapter 2. Phenomenal study today, Dr. Bagwell! Thank you so much for these wonderful lessons!
Paul wanted to make it clear that the second coming of Christ would not come until the Antichrist is revealed. Interesting that a falling away could mean depart from the faith or the rapture. We know for sure that the rapture will happen before the Antichrist comes on the scene. Praise the Lord!
