Having been to the Philippines numerous times, I never understood why anyone in their right mind would want to live there. As a foreigner, you have limited rights. The food sucks, and weather is too hot and humid unless you live up in Baguio. There's very little to do unless you spend your time traveling around the country. Most of the guys I met who lived there full time were 50+, fat, bald, and actually believed their young girlfriends or wives loved them. Most of these retirees must of had it really bad in their home countries.

Everyone has their own reasons for choosing where they want to live, and what works for one person may not work for another. My wife is Filipino American and lived in the US for a long time. We've also traveled and lived in many developed countries and had a good mix of experiences. We chose the Philippines because it fits our lifestyle and brings us happiness. Honestly, if someone is miserable, they’ll feel that way no matter where they are. It’s best to focus on what makes you happy and let others do the same. 😊
