Great video. I actually clicked on it because I was so intrigued by the complete lack of thumbnail image 🤣

Great information. I am looking at a fairly elaborate Esprit project and appreciate your qualified thoughts on the front suspension, and now eagerly awaiting a further video on the rear?

I may be able to do a video on the rear suspension, but a friend's project is in the main workshop and massively behind shedule (it's a real can of worms!). I've done no filming on that due to lack of space and the additional time it takes.
I will be making a new pair of lower links for the Esprit rear, one is bent and the other is poor quality, but I don't know if I'll be able to film the process.
Do tell me about the Esprit project.

Hello Paul. You my friend are a problem solver and a life saver! Ok maybe I’m going to far on the life saver part but listen.
I have been trying to research either how to make the leaf spring suspension on my small cargo trailer work (softer) with lighter loads or switch to a different type suspension all together.
Since I don’t want to spend a lot of money, like to keep the current ride height, hubs and don’t mind an axel I have been researching ways to modify my existing leaf spring system.
I was reading an article about a gentleman who was looking into doing some similar to a go kart and you had mentioned there were leaf spring calculators.
This is exactly the answer to one of my concerns about taking out a leaf spring from my cargo trailer.
You see I purchased a small utility trailer with leaf spring suspension that will support weight up to I believe 1,200 lbs.
The issue is I only use the small trailer for cargo up to maybe 400 lbs max. So I’ve been looking into ways of modifying either my existing suspension or trying something different.
All while keeping the cost down.
Anyways thank you sir for your input.
You have gained a new subscriber too!
    ✌🏽🇺🇸🙏

Sorry for the very late response. Your comment was inexplicably 'held for review' and YT never seems to notify about such events.
If they are multiply leaves, you can remove one or two, possibly leaving just the main leaf if that will handle the load.

Just out of curiosity Paul, why did you decide against using a stepped drill to open up the hole in the arm to 35mm?

For starters, I don't have a step drill that large. Secondly, an annular cutter (holesaw, rotabroch etc.) is removing much less metal and is using multiple cutting edges simultaneosly. Less torque needed and much less chance of grabbing.

@@EVguru Fair enough. I do have them, and I find they are excellent at opening up holes in thin metal without snatching even when using a hand held cordless drill. The only problem using them with a shape like your lower arm might be the nose containing the smaller stepped drill diameters might catch the other side, if you wanted to make a single sided hole, not straight through.

I wondered what happened to Dean's car, I would have liked it myself, it did look good on the road, interested to see how it turns out...

Fancy ruining a car with juvenile slammed air suspension nonsense. The mind boggles. Good luck with putting it all right….
