If there is any vehicle which expresses human emotions in myriad colours, it is poetry. I am Anindita Bhowmick, an avid reader of Bengali poems, as varied in their style of composing as the illustrious poet Tagore, Jibanananda, Nazrul Islam to Mallika, Subodh Sarkar, Purnendu Potri, Joy Goswami. Poetry is my passion, it is my religion. My joy is boundless when I could recite and reach across to the hearts of millions of avid poem lovers in the country and beyond.

Taslima Nasrin (also Taslima Nasreen, born 25 August 1962) is a Bangladeshi-Swedish writer, physician, feminist, secular humanist and human rights activist. She is known for her writing on women's oppression and criticism of religion, despite forced exile Some of her books are banned in Bangladesh. She has been blacklisted and banished from the Bengal region (both from Bangladesh and West Bengal).
Early in her literary career, Nasrin wrote mainly poetry, and published half a dozen collections of poetry between 1982 and 1993, often with female oppression as a theme, and often containing very graphic language. She started publishing prose in the late 1980s, and produced three collections of essays and four novels before the publication of her documentary novel Lajja (Bengali: লজ্জা Lôjja), or Shame, in which a Hindu family was being attacked by Muslim fanatics and decided to leave the country. Nasrin suffered a number of physical and other attacks for her critical scrutiny of Islam and her demand for women's equality. Many of her opposers took to the streets demanding her execution by hanging. In October 1993, a radical fundamentalist group called the Council of Islamic Soldiers offered a bounty for her death. In May 1994 she was interviewed by the Kolkata edition of The Statesman, which quoted her as calling for a revision of the Quran; she claims she only called for abolition of the Sharia, the Islamic religious law. In August 1994 she was brought up on "charges of making inflammatory statements," and faced criticism from Islamic fundamentalists. A few hundred thousand demonstrators called her "an apostate appointed by imperial forces to vilify Islam"; a member of a "militant faction threatened to set loose thousands of poisonous snakes in the capital unless she was executed." After spending two months in hiding, at the end of 1994 she escaped to Sweden, consequently ceasing her medical practice and becoming a full-time writer and activist.

Why does it feel for some people?
- Don’t go, please stay
Don’t know why, suddenly for no reason, nothing else, it feels something different for some individuals
Feel something different, no reason behind, however this heart bleeds for someone else
Someone want to see very passionately, want to get him, want to sit with him very closely beside
Intend to tell entire life story forever and ever
No reason for why it intends to, nevertheless it intend for
Wishes have no rein these wishes make menace from one morning to another
Wishes never come true, yet these wishes remain as shameless, hoping for the better days
It feels pain, even though there is no reason, yet it happens, time being spoiled
Don’t know why it feel like teenage feelings for some people after reaching middle age
Desires that were supposed to be hidden as teenagers are still remain the same
Don’t know for who this feeling is occurring, if he smiles seeing these desires
For that reason, I kept hidden my desires, I kept away my pain
I keep walking, as if nothing happened, I keep walking as a happy man like so many others
I go very far, but I don’t go after him, for whom this heart aches
Why does this heart burn for someone at such a strange time?
Many things to do in this life, how haste!
Keeping everything aside I think of him,
I know I won’t get him and it make me into pieces, even then I think of him,
I know, nothing to gain if I think of him, I want to get him by knowing that
I won’t get him ever…
