Fun Fact: If you observe the set close enough when the Muppets sing their respectful verse, the left side has hand-rod puppets and the right side has live hand puppets. Hand-rod puppets like Ms. Piggy are operated by the performer's dominate hand controlling the head and the opposite arm controlling the arms through metal rods. Live-hand puppets like Rowlf are controlled by the performer's dominate arm as the head but also using the performer's other arm and another performer's arm as the hands. Live-hand puppets are used to have the character to make hand gestures, pick up objects, and open doors. As a puppeteer myself, I find it fascinating that the Muppet Performers organized this for the show.
