Imagine being a parent and them seeing your child and then they turn a simple colouring page and then seeing them turn it into something weird and creepy-
e x a c t ly! Hey kiddo, I lobve your art! can you please get in the car? we're gonna go to somewhere called therapy :D
I’d be proud my kid was so talented
@@aliteralrat1775 yeah. just a bit concerned on what they picked up on,But mostly very impressed how they can alter a picture!
Ehh, I'm the same way, so I'd be very proud of them
I would be proud sometimes but if it goes to far
THERAPY
most just drew new lines and coloured within those lines
It’s more like ‘thinking outside the lines’ 😅

Art always have the basics, the base rules, they're at the base because everyone deserves to flourish without restrictions.
I love peoples who knows anatomy very well but deciding to fuck the rules anyways
I totally agree with you. I am just one year into my art journey and am learning to draw anatomy and using all the fundamental principles from highly rated text books and art tutorials and a couple of classes online. I have the "Basic Human Anatomy for Artists" (I was a nurse for many years so I have had countless Anatomy and Physiology classes and Kinesiology. And I have a book on figure drawing and a whole big book of just facial expressions. It has different ways artists have used the facial expressions of each model where some are turned into robots or monsters and you can see how they got it from a certain expression but it's incredible what people can come up with! I like heroin junky looking (from an art perspective, no shade) with the skinny (or fat, but not healthy) bodies with bruises and discolored skin. I am so into that. But I need to get the basics down, and it's coming way faster than I expected...the funny thing is, the other stuff has been a struggle for me. Finding my imagination and creativity has been the hardest part which us really strange. I didn't expect that would be hard for me since I am a very creative person I'm my dad to Dat life coming from the actual 80s amd early 90s punk scene. I talk too much sorry.
But yeah, I liked your comment. You have to grow the basics to get to the other stuff or else unless it comes naturally it can just muddy up and looking a mess.
"i was always taught to color within the lines. fuck the lines." **makes more lines**
The point of “making other lines” is trying to stick out, “run away” from the lines they were given. An easy way to explain it is kinda like: society gave them standards and rules to follow, thats what the lines rappresent, and they stuck out from society and made their own rules, drawing their own lines and sticking to those. This is how i interpret it but it can vary from persoj to person :)
1:09 did she just turn a kids drawing into that beautiful masterpiece 👁👄👁
Yes
i’ve always admired people who can just make scribbles and be confident and make a beautiful piece of art i can’t do it because if it starts to look like crap i get scared and quit lol

The fact that the most Color in they own lines🤨

I wanna do this, but literally just color outside of the lines like a 3 year old lol
the fact that most of them were dark or maybe all
Yeah, all of them exept 2:35
@@4ll3nc Yee but it was exactly out of the lines
I loved this! It really gives me (a beginner of just one serious year of daily art, at the age of 47) a totally different perspective. Because I am not a "color within the lines" budding artist either. I like the messy look, the busy organized or even disorganized chaos. And I absolutely love the darker side of things. Show me blood shot eyes, bruises, discolored skin like they aren't getting oxygen to their extremities, scraped and brushed knuckles. I want ratty hair and ripped clothes and just lots of stuff going on everywhere from corner to corner and edge to edge right off the page. I am trying really hard to find my way through learning the fundamentals but still break the rules which has been extremely hard. I haven't had enough experience mixing watercolors or painting at all. Drawing I love but I have to learn first.
But this shows me I can pull out a coloring book and gesso the pages and go crazy and learn that way.
So thank you for posting this. I saved it in my "tutorials" folder and looking forward to seeing what more I can learn from it!

Man, I don't know why, I just cannot figure out how to do stuff like this and make it look good. I'm better at more uniform art, like I suck at doing crazy/wild pieces similar to some in here, I just can't figure out how to do it :,)
edit: 1:39 stuff like this, for example.
yeah, same.
Aye dude it doesnt matter of you cant do stuff like that, I am the oppisit i struggle with doing uniform art but I love doing expressive stuff. All that really matters is that you're doing what you like! I think the most important thing in art is finding why you want to draw, some people may want to draw to design characters, enviroments and worlds, some may want to draw hyperealism to become very skilled, some may want to draw to express themselves, some may want to draw to capture memories. There are so many reasons why people may want to draw, and not everyone is going to be good doing all of them. Just find something you like and ultimately that will make you a better artist!
@@rainnymph you're right! Art is about experimenting with different techniques and styles and one may not be good at them all but the most important thing is to make what you subjectively want to as per their own purpose... Everyone's style is different because everyone picks up different things and techniques and makes an amalgamation of them and voila! Brand new style...
It's just me turning every picture in my german book into monsters- you know german class is boring
So basically whatever is not within the lines is evil and scary... Kinda like when you cross boundaries and break rules🤣 Nevertheless it takes confidence to turn that into art
This so so cool! I love it 👏
2:09 i love this one
The Tyler, the creator one was amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I can't with the last one-
I would've liked it more if they weren't (mostly) just repeating the same"turn something simplictic into a vivid nightmare" and finding other creative turns as well.

Tbh? Most of them are taking simple, little childhood coloring books or drawings and making them horrifying.
And that feels...poetic? Like the phrase "Color within the lines" could follow along nicely with Japan's "The nail that sticks out gets hammered down". To put it bluntly;
Be safe. Be colorful and cute and happy. Don't dare to make people uncomfortable, that's a bad thing. Why would you want that?
But life isn't always happy or colorful, it's painful sometimes, and scary, and hurtful. And art is meant to be a way to put your reality onto a page, be it through realism or landscapes or like, anime. That art won't always be pleasant to look it. It won't always be easy.
But it's more priceless for it.
Well said! I totally agree. I started art late in life due to a very disabling and debilitating chronic illness and use are as a way to not only fill my time since I can't work and am in bed pretty much all the time, but as therapy. It gives me purpose and something to look forward to and to feel good about. It has helped me to relay the way my illness feels because words don't help very much a lot of the time. It's easy to say "I have severe chronic pain" or "I am so exhau6from chronic fatigue", theyre simply words. But when you SEE art that depicts those things well, say I draw or paint a person struggling to walk through deep water with their nose barely above too breathe and they have a look of complete exhaustion and they have heavy chains draped over their body locked in place. That shows my fatigue much better than any words can relay. So I have finally gotten through just enough of the fundamentals (which I have no intention of deserting) to feel like I can confidently portray some of how it feels to be someone with very severe Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and the many many many illnesses and symptoms and emotions that has thrown at me and keeps getting worse.
I was in a state of just existing and barely even that. I can say that thanks to art I am feeling better. Instead of feeling like sleeping 22 hours a day straight every single day isn't enough to fighting sleep like mad trying to work on art. (I wish that worked but I get nothing done when I'm being sucked unto the other life I have within my vivid dreams, which also help with ideas).
Sorry to ramble, I'm really good at that. But I really liked your comment, it really encapsulated the way I think art is approached by a good majority of us.
@@sixmercer2504 Never apologize for rambling. I was...a pretty sheltered kid.
I have a morbid fascination for the world, and I love to learn about people. I am so, incredibly proud of you for still being here. It takes a certain kind of soul to do that.
Anywhere I could see your art? I'd love to see what you make!
Nice!!!!
When I was little and I didn't want to draw within the lines and the picture looked too boring, you know what I DID?

EREN YEAGER
I make my own lines screw the coloring book
wow I know someone of the artist bruh :D
Oh my gosh what happened to Patrick 😞
im kinda :/// about this trend because its bland. not because you should always colour within the lines or because "youll be a failure if you dont" or "youre ruining ur art" or anything like that. no its because despite a "fuck the lines" people still constrict themselves to the lines. they create their own and stay in that. while i can get its a comfort thing in art to have that guideline what the videos show and what the text/the trend implies do not have the same idea behind them. its all spectacle still contricted into those lines
These artists have amazing skill but why is everything creepy, dark, bloody, or depressed? I don't personally have social media so maybe it's a trend I'm missing?
Nah it's not a trend.. Not the one I'm aware of at least... But yeah this compilation is full of creepy art lol
Innocent to creepy
It shows how you can turn anything to the opposite
