To those saying the mamma cats looked stressed, most of them are actually rather blissed-out from the oxytocin that is released as the kitten nurse. The exceptions are when the kitten are getting bigger and they fight over spots (teeth) or the kittens are close to weaning age.

Yes I raised kittens born by my head when I was only 13 (my childhood kitty was not fixed yet and snuck out for just one day) and voila one day she had kittens. Well I raised her 3 sons from the time I was 13 to age 35. 😱 The last one passed in 2021 when he was 22. 😢 needless to say I can remember when the kittens were really big they would still try to nurse on her and one of my big kittens would try to drag himself hanging onto her nipple and she would hiss and bitch slap him. Lol. You knew she was way over it. But when they were this tiny she would love it and purr. She would be “blissed out” and was such a good little mommy. But she let the kittens know when she they were not allowed to touch her nipples anymore. I actually thank my parents for this experience and it was one of my most memorable and favorite childhood memories. Plus the last kitten lived til I was 35. 😭 Every parent should allow children to experience love of animals!

I miss having tons of kittens around when I was a kid. No one spayed back in the 70s! I learned to be an excellent Midwife! I helped Momma give birth , take care of & keep track of the Mommas babies along with my French Briard Sheep Dog. He would clean them & watch over them & put them back in their area while Momma was outside & eating! He was the best dog ever, Jack, so protective of us kids & the furry family too. Take care animal lovers 🥰🐺☀️❤️😎

Once it was known, people brought me whole litters that they found abandoned... I have personally owned 57 cats and my Vet offered to give me half price on spaying as I brought so many cats to him. Now I am old, alone, and living on a pension, but here in Canada the cost of owning a cat is prohibitive. Vets charge outrageous prices here... I won't own an animal unless I can afford to give it the best. I have given generously to animal rescue in years past when I had a different financial picture.
