I had stumbled upon these same lenses at an auction. Nobody wanted them so I got 2 for $2.00. Thought I came up with the idea until I saw this video.. I'm surprised it got that hot. I haven't made mine yet, I think I'm going to just buy an el cheapo bowens plate and mount some off-the-shelf aluminum cylinder of some kind, perhaps one of those cheap snoots? Thanks for the vid. Learning from your mistakes is quicker. lol

I wonder if there are any heat resistant plastics from a 3D printer that could be used to model a mount for the lens to affix to, rather than MacGyvering a mount with gaff tape
