- Questions have been raised that the first picture of the Princess of Wales to be released after her abdominal surgery may have been manipulated before it was posted on social media by Kensington Palace.
The photo of Kate and her children, said by the palace to have been taken by the Prince of Wales in Windsor earlier this week, was posted to mark Mother’s Day.
In the post she said: “Thank you for your kind wishes and continued support over the last two months.
“Wishing everyone a Happy Mother’s Day. C.”
The picture shows Kate sitting in a chair with her arms around Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, who are on either side of her, with Prince George standing behind, as all four smile at the camera.
The photograph was shared with media on Sunday but it was withdrawn by international picture agencies later the same day because of concerns that the image had been manipulated.
There was speculation that edits had been made to the left sleeve of Princess Charlotte’s cardigan, and other areas of the picture also raised concerns about possible manipulation.
Kensington Palace has declined to comment.

Anyone can doctor a photo or use a filter, whatever. You cannot pass a doctored photo to AFP, Reuters and Getty and other news organizations and expressly claim its original. Kate can recover in peace and truth, when Kensington Palace gets a consulting team in there to help them clean up the mess they’ve made.

Am I the only one who thinks this photo was photoshopped for a very dull and benign reason? It's hard to get a photo of 3 kids standing still and smiling all at once, especially if one of them is a hyper-active 5-year-old. They probably overlaid the images to have one of all 3 smiling & posing. BUT... it was extremely sloppy to put out such a badly photoshopped image. This was PR blunder. Their team should have known better.

JHRC, It was taken on a cell phone by a husband/ father, NOT a professional photographer. This could cause them to go back to the way the Queen 👑 did things and put out NO INFORMATION. They could put out only holiday, special visits, and official events, but nothing personal.

I heard it was merely that new google phone (?) feature, where you can take a string of photos and it will make a composite of best ones. So it can give you a finished photo where all people in shot are smiling and looking at camera - something that can be difficult to achieve with children. The problem with this feature is though, it can just create some anomalies.

The press needs to leave Catherine alone and allow her to heal. As for Ava's comment about photoshopping, Harry and Meghan do it all the time. Prime example is their Time cover. Both have three times the amount of hair they normally have.
This is nonsense. I don't know about this specific picture, but cameras will do these things internally, often without an amateur photographer even knowing it. A camera will take multiple shots and merge them to create the 'best' result. It's a candid family snap, not professional and not paparazzi. Nobody would bother using additional editing software to get a result like this. A good quality amateur camera or phone will do it all for you. It's not deceptive it's just how photos get taken now.

The media are making far too much of this. Even if the photo was fake so what? Some people just like their privacy. I use photo editing software all the time so the fact that it was edited is no big deal. Sometimes pictures are out of focus just because its not a good photograph. I for example can make things to dark or dont get everything in focus because i have not set the correct focal point or f stop number. There is a lot more happening in the world .

I just think this all shows how amazing the late Queen was. The Queen, days before she passed away and well into her nineties, had an audience with the new Prime Minister as part of her constitutional duties. Kate, a relatively young and fit lady, cannot even sit for long enough to have the odd photograph taken or to record even the shortest of videos to update and reassure supporters of the Royal Family. As I say, it would appear that the new generation of Royals can't hold a candle to the likes of Queen Elizabeth ii.
