Another three or four years and Chaosium will publish the 6e core rulebook. Or whenever. Never seen an rpg teased for so long. Oh hang on, Rolemaster Ultimate still wins.
It's rather disappointing that Chaosium feels the need to include female knights, given that these are hardly faithful to the source material which, to the best of my knowledge, does not include Game of Thrones. There's no reason a female player could not play the role of a knight without this pandering to political correctness, any more than a player who happens to use a wheelchair can only feel represented if their character uses one. This won't prevent me from getting a copy but I hope they at least don't pursue this idea as far as WotC has.
So, it's a game that doesn't give you any of the tools you need to start playing, in spite of being offered as a starter set. And, it doesn't even set you up to run a campaign in this setting because there's no in depth lore or help to build your own encounters. It's as if the game is purposely obtuse.
So I picked this up at GenCon and other than the solo campaign to give you a bit of taste it has abbreviated rules and a small scenario you can run which can fold directly into The Grey Knight book if you like it. It seems to do what’s printed on the box, a starter set to start and test the system to see if you like it, with implication if you want to go bigger you’ll probably invest in more.
Casting a vote for a solo play through as well!
I cast another "yes, please give this a playthrough"!
Did not know this exists. I owned all editions of the game until now. Thanks for recommending.
Yes please play the solo. Id like to try playing pendragon solo in general so this can be interesting to see
That is a nice box cover, has some medieval / Harn feel to it.
You did an excellent job of showcasing this. I've always been a fan of Arthurian Mythos. I want to give it a shot now. Many thanks.
I like that this box is like a minimalistic style and only uses enough cardboard but the DnD starter sets are the excact opposite
Do a play through of the Solo campaign.
Solo playthrough, yes please!
Seconded
Thirded
Playthroughs are a great way to get a feel for the system before comitting to a game
I would watch a play through
I vote for play through.
Yes, please do a play-thru.
5:50
What does Arthurian Juice taste like? I think maybe like the tomato sauce in a can of Heinz Baked Beans. 🤔
So, by the way, Chaosium just released a new version of BRP
May habe to pick this up
Solo vote!
solo play it!
please do solo play!

Play through vote.
Having to cut the cards is very old school
It is worth it? For solo rpg?
Given the very reasonable price, maybe, but there's only the one solo adventure. Call of Cthulhu has a pile of solitaire adventures.

WHY do this game's players want to drag a pen?
