    The only version of this effect that I've ever liked.

      Good point. Layperson would never even use the term.

      Yes I would agree with you on that. Still, I think that there is entertainment value in this performance. But no, nobody's mind is likely to be blown.

    i was a magician for seven years because of lance burton . after you know how a trick works to a point its now longer magical you focus on the artists delivery . that's when you see the real magic. thanks for the memories lance!

    The beauty of magic is allowing yourself to be fooled. some tricks manage this without too much effort though some are just not very good. this is an example of something i sat back enjoyed and he just made them appear from no where. im cool with that :)

    They always say those magicians who can speak to the dead and foresee the future would be monsters if they didn't warn about catastrophes, this guy could save everybody dying of thirst right now, what a maniac!

    Know the trick, CptCharles is right... there is no problem in knowing the "solution", magic is not just about the unknown but also about how well performed it is. One example is Roy Raphaelli... I know how many of his tricks are done, but never cease to enjoy watching them, no matter how simple they may be. Other magicians can perform much more complicated tricks... but not with the same flare.
    Like this one, especially for the bow - a nice twist.

    For a while I didn't get what Lance Burton's appeal was. I always thought he was skilled in his sleight of hand but I think what people like about him is he has a sincerity to him that can't be faked. He's not a arrogant jackass pretending to be nice for an audience for his own gratification. He's just a nice guy who loves to entertain. There's simply no bullshit to it and I think his audience feels it.

  • @5teampunker
    @5teampunker 12 років тому

    I'll never seek out the knowledge of how this was done. I don't mind being fooled by someone so skilled.

    Wire stunts and green screens are not secret because the movie industry doesn't have a code to keep it from you. It's the same basic principle for both : "we do things that are hidden from you for your entertainment." Point is, knowing the secret doesn't spoil it for everybody, like me. Why? Because I can appreciate the inner workings, and creativity of certain illusions. Having an observational and curious mind, is not a bad thing.

    for many the 'magic' of magic dissapears when they know how things work. There for they do not appreciate people who reveal magic.

  • @ITSROBHERE

    no actually it is, because how they shoot the scenes isn't a secret, nobody is trying to hide that and by knowing how they do the wire stunts, the whole movie isn't ruined. by knowing how a trick is done it ceases to be magic, it isn't magically once you know how it's done because that is why it's cool in the first place, because you don't know how it was accomplished. if everyone knows how its done there is no point.

  • @meteoramarc

    I don't get what's wrong with people that like to analyze and reveal magic tricks. Skepticism is a natural human process and analyzing, understanding, and sharing your findings with others is all part of active learning. If you're complaining about all of that, then the issue isn't with the people that enjoy analyzing things, the issue is with you.

    Here's one thing any working magician can tell you about Trickbusters. They 've been wrong on most everything that they've posted. Their excitement is simply in spoiling things for other people. If they can post something that somewhat makes sense, they know that viewers won't do any further research. If you want proof that Trickbusters misses 75% of their explanations, check out 2 things: magic books that discuss the same principles and the fact that Trickbusters hasn't been taken off UA-cam.

    That's a terrible comparison. If you exposed the trick BEFORE he did it - maybe you've seen it once or twice and other people haven't - then yeah, I'll agree with you. No one should expose a magic trick at that time. But if you study the trick after it's done, after it's had it's initial impact on you, then there's nothing wrong with that. That's like studying a movie after you've watched it for the first time. Sure it removes some of the film magic but it's still completely fine to do.

  • @aaronwildeofficial
    @aaronwildeofficial 12 років тому

    No, it is not fair to compare magic to films. A magician cannot do completely new tricks for every single show. Many magicians are specialists in certain types of trick and it harms their career if you reveal how it's done to the World at large.
    I have studied card magic and there are only six basic card trick elements. As a result I can see through almost any card trick. Should I tell the World those elements so they can see through any card trick?
    That would ruin a lot of magicians' acts.

  • @vamned
    @vamned 12 років тому

    Sir I was not bitching, nor hating, and if you conceived a factual statement that way maybe you have a problem. I do not see why you are posting this hateful comment on a simple statement. I hoped to make you see why others could have a problem with that. I enjoy analyzing them as much as others do, or maybe more since I like performing some tricks every once in a while too. I am just trying to show you why other people express their 'not happiness' about revealing posts.

  • @meteoramarc
    @meteoramarc 12 років тому

    And likewise, there are people who appreciate others who find the secrets behind the trick. In the end, you're still hating on someone for something they enjoy. Some people enjoy doing the tricks; others enjoy analyzing them. If you let either of these people bother you, you have a problem, not them. Quit your bitching.

    yes it is as an audience viewing the trick we don't actually want to figure out the trick. Our instinct when these types of sleight of hand tricks and card tricks is to be fooled.

  • @larrysanders27
    @larrysanders27 12 років тому

    i have no idea how he did that, isn't that the idea though

  • @aaronwildeofficial
    @aaronwildeofficial 12 років тому

    Freedom is only good as long as it doesn't hurt other people. Giving away magicians' secrets certainly harms their acts. Keeping the secrets is the entire basis of magic shows. If you can't see that, then I'm sorry but you're not a very good judge of when freedom can be harmlessly exercised and when it should by people with a conscience be carefully self-limited.

  • @kaskus5651

    exposing magic tricks is the same as telling someone the end of a movie before they see it. have you seen the dark knight yet? the cop is robin and batman fakes his death then retires with catwoman.
    see how that's fucked up? it's just a mean thing to do to the creators of the movie, the people showing the movies in their theater, and the people who want to see the movie. you should understand the similarities between killing a movie and a magic trick.

    • @swf4841
      @swf4841 5 років тому

      Can’t believe you just ruined The Dark Knight for me. Fuck I was just about to watch it. Why did you do that? Fuck man! You made an example of something that was fucked up by literally doing something that was fucked up......that’s fucked up. That’s like saying to you’re spouse. “ hey do you know how depressed and hurt you would be if I fucked someone else? Well you would feel THIS depressed and hurt...I fucked someone else.....there, that’s how it feels”

    Actually it isn't. Most people want to know how a trick is done AFTER they've seen it. It would be more along the lines of somebody showing you how they green screened Batman during a wire stunt. And you spoiling the movie doesn't make you any less of a hypocrite.

  • @meteoramarc
    @meteoramarc 12 років тому

    I don't give a fuck about Trickbusters or anything, but if you are hating on someone because they enjoy analyzing and explaining magic tricks, then you really are on the same page as people who hate on magic tricks in the first place. It's the exact same scenario, reversed. Grow a pair; using your own personal freedoms does not take away the freedoms of someone else.
