The thing with us in Mt Kenya is that we can really show up in the voting booth.. kumĩra kumĩra . If Ruto becomes an enemy, there's no way he'd survive. If we constituted nearly 50% of Ruto's vote with ~ 60% turnout, one can only imagine what would happen if we show up at the 92% turnout of 2013 and vote against him.
I'm saying we, but I didn't support Ruto, at all. Harcode UDA guys and I are starting to agree these days, so something is changing.
That said, I wouldn't read too much into Riggy G absence, just yet. Ruto has a double-employment system. He has political riffraff in his cabinet on paper, along with more polished "advisors". Ruto often leaves the riffraff behind and goes with the polished advisors (Adan Mohamed, David Ndii, Sylvia Kang'ara, Monica Juma etc) to meetings. The role of the redundant riffraff is political -- to help win in 2027.
This double employment (plus the 50 CASes) is just one small example of how Ruto's personal ambition has been costing the country, since 1992.
