that is too bad you had such a negative experience with the one stable. There are a lot of toxic people in the world sadly. But you handled it brilliantly. Yes please watch out for the ticks and Lyme. I got it in 1994 and it has left me disabled and in poverty my whole life. No home of my own, no horse of my own. But when I am well enough I volenteer at stables that do rescue and equine therapy. I've had some very negative experiences too, but I also just move on and meet better people.

There are some bad people all over the USA, but e majority of us are good people. Sorry that you’ve experienced some of the crappier ones. If you want some great riding experiences while you’re in the USA, come back during autumn (October) in Michigan. It is so beautiful there, especially up north when the leaves are changing color! I guarantee that you will love it!
