I bought a V100 cherry burst second had here in the UK. Didn't stay in tune at all so I paid out to have a good set of tuners fitted and now it's amazing. I can't fault the playability or the sound.
I just found one for $350 mint cond. Everything I've read & seen on these specific guitars is that they are rock solid AF, I planned on swapping in all top-0-da-line parts but again everything i'm seeing is they come with great solid parts & for the most part,.. upgrading is kind of a waste of money. Unless you need something really specific..just fukin' PLAY IT. Super excited. I'll not be dropping 3-4k on a real Gold top, any day soon,...but these have so many great reviews u can't go wrong for that price!! After my 1st P90 guitar blew me away both from a price/quality stand point and the P90 tones....I've bene jonezin' for a P90 GT never thought i find something so similar & so well reviewed at such a value! it is kinda the golden age of awesome quality affordable guitars.
Color is also dead right, what I see on a lot of modern and vintage epiphone equivalents is the gold finish is often flushed out a bit and not as deep of a yellow, vintage wilkinson kind of nailed it, though you don't get as nice of a top carve. All cosmetic but it makes the guitar that much better.
I bought one for £140 used but it needed a new nut and I had a bone nut installed and the guitar setup and all in all it set me back £190 which I think was a good deal, haven't really had a chance to bond with it yet
I've got the vsa 500 335 copy cause this shop called guitar wishes sold my dream guitar a 1972 gibson 335 in walnut and with me only owing a couple hundred dollars on a 2k layaway and they sold it to someone else I've got on to no end to call them guitar destroyers but there an official vintage dealer here in north carolina and I have to say I'm very impressed with it's feel and quality I was talking to the owner about the guitar and asking about upgrading the pickups on them to something really nice and he swore by the vintage pickups and that they studied what made the vintage pickups sound so good and Wilkinson I believe who designed all that stuff did a good job but couldn't believe the guy told me that those stock what print cost 25$ a piece are somehow better than a high$ pair I bet he's just thinking relative that putting back in half the price of the guitar on pickups and really not get a very noticable difference I would say don't be shy to pull the trigger on a vintage brand guitar they play so good and I absolutely love there unique neck joint that makes it easier to play up higher on the fretboard still wish it was my dream guitar but by God I'd have to say I'm happy that I at least got the vintage vsa 500 or 525 I think 1 was to close and had to change the specs but they have a walnut version unfortunately they didn't have that model at the shop
A local shop is selling one new for $475. Gold top just like that one. Should I buy it? Is the price drop because no one wants it? It was $550 at that shop and they lowered it.
Just bought one. A few bits are shonky but all in all a seriously good guitar for the money. Bought an epiphone at the same time. Needless to say the epiphone went back. To be fair though, the epiphone felt better made. It sounded crap though 😂
I have one of these and for reasons unbeknown to me it weighs almost double the v100 tsb version,my guitar tech couldn't explain it either,he just said they use different woods and whatever is available at the time, great sounding guitar but very heavy,I'm gonna have to weigh it
got the used v100gt guitar in...needs some adjustment...few buzzing strings..but the pickup hum is horrendous...way more than a strat....so I opened up the control cavity where the volume pots are...switched a few wires...and voila!!...zero hum.....however the guitar is twice its previous volume...going to pull the pups and remove one of the two magnets in each of the pickups to calm it down....the neck , headstock and other similarities identical to my Harley Benton lp....I think both are made in same factory but the Wilkinson parts on the Vintage gives it almost doubles the price
i have two Vintage guitars, love the make of them, but they dont stay in tune at all, i use same stringing tecnique in all my guitars. (sorry Only Vintage fails)
these guitars are okay except the build quality is as good as what you pay for. i highly recommend everyone to spend more money elsewhere for longevities sake
I like your very thorough review, but please can you cut the background music while you speak please? your words are more important than the music - thanks.
i just bought one used online (2017) in great condition for $315 including S&H.These guitars are also sold from Thomann Music in Germany for $325 plus $36 S&H....but because of the fretboard wood cant be imported into the USA....But,some how, somebody is getting these and the other models with same fretboards into the States and are jacking up the price...if you know anybody in Europe...now is the time to give them a call and ask for a favor!!!!
Came for the guitar... Stayed for the amazing playing!

The clean sound in this instrument is as pretty as acoustic-which is hard to say... Very impressed by the clean tones.. Thank you for demo'ing..

The man can play the guitar
How would this compare to the edwards by esp....?
why is the grafite nut white? Or is this a stupid question? Grafite normally has a different color I believe...?
good review. but I think you forgot to mention one important thing. this guiar has a mahogany top, instead of maple :)
It wouldn’t bother me as you wouldn’t see the maple anyway and the guitar would be lighter for the lack of the mape
great review, could you review some of the vintage V100 ( with humbucker) or fret king guitars.
Not sure if I ever replied. Sorry. ua-cam.com/video/CFvok3ZHPRI/v-deo.html
Great playing! Nice rig too! Which wah pedal were you using?

What a rambling unpunctuated diatribe !
Is this straight into the amp? Or better which gear you are using?

It's a solid guitar. I would play it and see if you like it. You may want to try Reverb.com as well.
Get it man, great Les Paul copy for a fraction of the Gibson price. Vintage V100 blow out of the water ever Epiphone I've ever played.

I’ve got one - weighs over 10lbs - everyone who plays it says the same thing, “Sounds like no other guitar I’ve ever played…”
What is the top made out of?
Riviera paradise!
Came for the guitar...... left after 2 minutes of 'look ma, 3000 notes per second!'.

You just sold me on this guitar! Did you have to do any mods to it for better tuning stability? Change the nut or the tunomatic bridge?
AAA AAA I’ve had one of these for 9 years that’s still stock and it’s fantastic. If that helps you at all bud
I’m changing the bridge to gold to match the body.
Did you mention Vintage’s one year warranty. They need to stand behind their craftsmanship.
this guy must've been in "STEEL DRAGON"
Great, how much ?
Usually less than $500.
i have two Vintage guitars, love the make of them, but they dont stay in tune at all, i use same stringing tecnique in all my guitars. (sorry Only Vintage fails)
Nic Franco Vintage guitars usually have EZLok locking tuners with a different type of stringing technique.
I have the v100 lemon drop, stays in tune just fine!
His does..
these guitars are okay except the build quality is as good as what you pay for. i highly recommend everyone to spend more money elsewhere for longevities sake
They didn't have 95% gain in 1959.
🤟👌

The wood on a solid body guitar has nothing to do with the sound of the guitar.
John Hickey I guess they should just make them from petrified dogshit then?
It does.
It does? Lol.
You better delete your comment man 😉
I CAN HEAR YOUR TUNE SLIPPING AS YOU PLAY
FENDER OR GIBSON NOTHING ELSE MATTERS
Being able to play....matters.
How is all that overdrive showing off crap reviewing a guitar?
Well you can find other people reviewing this guitar...more to your taste. He can play mind.
that was kick ass, what amp did u use?
Thanks, I used S-Gears virtual amps.
