What if you lined paper along the bottom, then used milk instead of water. Because the color sinks to the bottom, would that maybe also capture the color? This was an interesting video haha glad you managed to capture some of that color through the paper towel!!
I put skittles on the plate and added the water as normal for the paper one but I took off the skittles and pressed the paper down. It made a really nice pattern.

Do it with oil... Because oil sinks under water, the color would probably be on top of the oil, and therefore be much stronger

rather than removing the paper or water allow the design to dry fully without disturbing the design it may dry just as vibrant that way

I was thinking that maybe if you let the paper towel dry naturally without touching it or the Skittles after you poured the water, it would dry to that vibrant color we're all after. It might take a while, but it's worth a shot.

Probably you can make water colors by putting a few in a ice cube try let the water mix with the color in each section and see if you can paint with it. I wonder since it is a edible, you could paint on fondant icing?

To save my design, I use my own, genius way: I use my iPhone! I'm smart aren't I? And the best part is: I have a printer! Now I can transfer my design to paper! Who would have ever thought? 😂

If you want a nice color sheet like the can you transfer skittle color to the paper its not skittles but it will do.
I used to get paper napkins and color on them with markers and fold but each time i folded it i put hand sanitizer on it and then waited a bit then carefully unfolded it. I got amazing colors but not all the times

What if you do this on top of a cheese cake and use some syrupy type of sauce instead?
I have an idea instead use milk so the color sinks to the bottom and gets absorbed into the paper towel or even paper itself

You should try skittle milk to make it just pour mil into any size of bowl, pour some skittles mix it and then its done SKITTLE MILK IS DELICIOUS IT SHOULD BE IN STORES
