I know this was two years ago, but it goes so deep, I feel I just watched a movie better than anything ever made before, just amazing.
Even though most of the people hate the end, i like it, because literally every single movie mapping i watch has a happy boring end

Yeah the ending is realistic other AFOW is like Rebel everywhere and cause the empire fall.
This ending is unrealistic though, The most likely scenario of what would happen after Axis victory in ww2 is for Germany to collapse into a civil war between hitlers successors after the furvers death. Even if Germany managed to succeed in holding itself together in the following decades the country would not be able to overcome the rest of the rest and definitely could never create a world win without constant rebellion, I prefer to see this series as a what if everything went perfect for the German reich scenario

I’ve been a fan of mapping for about 2 years. While I’ve sorta fell out of it now, I remember this one very well. This series, this is the mapping series that can be described as truly “great.” From a story telling perspective, it is executed extremely well. I imagine that it must be difficult to tell a story through dialogue alone, but the dialogue feels natural and each conversation between nations flows into another. The events of this story happen at a perfect pace, and while somewhat unrealistic, they still manage to make for great conflicts with a great build up. Each individual conflict feels like it could be the one to start “the” war. The war you learn to dread throughout this build up. WW3. The overarching conflict remains interesting despite the somewhat long time it takes to get there. Germany makes for such a great villain. In some alternate history series’, the villains just don’t feel right. By taking a country we already know to be evil, we bypass this issue. Yet somehow Germany still gets more threatening as the series goes on.

Because I’d rather make the movie myself than have Royal ste- err, do the “splicing” for me.
But in all seriousness, I know I’ve said before that I wouldn’t do this, but I wanted to at least give you guys *something* for Christmas, even if I have essentially no series ideas left. I hope you guys enjoy!
Some notes and clarifications:
- This movie’s editing is generally not as smooth as TVP. This is because I don’t have the original Movie Maker files of the Fatherland episodes anymore, and I only had the .mp4 files to splice together.
- Episode 8’s end card and episode 10’s intro are still there, because cutting out the music there just wouldn’t work. :/

I'm never going to forget how amazing this series was and how it inspired me as a mapper. AFOW Germania is cancelled and it's not coming back (I don't think I'll ever have the motivation to revive it) but nevertheless, this series had a huge impact on me and I'm still making mapping content to this day (recently returned to it, so yay I guess!). Alternate History of the World: Fatherland is one of the best mapping series that ever existed IMO, the only thing that beats it in my book would be the Paxverse series by Korean and even that is only by a hair. Protonic, I hope you remember just how great this was for the rest of time.

Even 5 years after it's over, I still get chills thinking about this series to this day

I find it _weird_ that none of the Reichkommissariats spoke, or at the very least had some dialogue, asides from Skandinavien.
But asides from that, this movie is a masterpiece.
I've watched this movie multiple times and it's always great to watch! Wish there were more axis victory scenarios like this one

To think in an alternate timeline, the final result would of happened.
In some ways, it's nice to see the evil force triumph over when there's a lot of peaceful ends, though there is a finality to an ending where there is only one rule, evil or good.
As much as I treasure this Bad Ending to an Amazing Series, I can't help but notice.
America devoted an astronomical amount of resources to other fronts of the war and still had the ability to hold out alone for months against a superpower with superpowered soldiers. Utterly crazy how strong America can be in Mapping.
Well, that’s what happens when the majority of the population has guns and “liberty or death” patriotism. :P

This has kept me at the edge of my seat, wondering what these textboxes would display next. The dialogue feels natural and the timing is just right. This AH scenario was written by a world-class English teacher!

Protonic, I don’t know if you’ll ever see this, whether you do or not, I just wanted to say how much I love Fatherland. I discovered Fatherland in June of 2018 and I soon saw the first episode. I was immediately hooked. I had never seen a mapping video like it, from the music, the plot, the dialogue, and the map to the CCW cliffhanger at the end. As the series went on I grew to love it more and more, to the Collapse of the Soviet Union, to the Nuking of Japan, to the New German leader, to the Declaration of the Germanian World Order. I couldn't wait to see where the series went. I remember being up at 3-4AM watching Calm before the Storm, Betrayal, Clash, and The Last One. The ending to the series was truly special. Despite being sad that the Democratic Pact lost I was satisfied with the ending, the bad guys winning was something I don't think I ever saw before Fatherland and you did it amazingly. My favorite part of Fatherland would definitely have to be the fan-made videos that came out after The Last One, the alternate ending by XDLOFLAM, the (sadly canceled) season 2 by Arcturus Mapping, to the automated mapping nuking of Finland by New York Mapping. I don't think I've ever seen this from any other series. This series has always been, and remains my favorite mapping series ever, alongside the Vengeful Phoenix and a few others, even the Interludes are amazing! Even with the new Axis Victory scenarios like Thousand Week Reich and The New Order, this has always been my favorite.
Wars of Faith has been one of my favorite pieces of music ever since I watched the first episode, and I think it was a great first song.
The series isn't perfect, of course, no fiction is ever truly excellent and I'm not saying Fatherland is a flawless masterpiece, but I still think it's wonderful.
Whether is not you make another mapping series, or continue doing the interludes for the Vengeful Phoenix and Fatherland doesn't matter to me, because you’ve cemented your legacy in mapping, and we’re all proud of you.
So thanks.
(and btw, the end of episode 8 will always be my favorite cliffhanger in mapping, that shit was cool.)

Well, what should I say. As a German, I could say that I'm happy to see Germany win for once, but, I think that this Germany especially under either Göring or Himmler (or someone even worse) isn't a Germany worth winning a World War. And since I'm a German Monarchist, I hoped that there is some kind of Revolution, which could have even been realistic, especially for the rebellions of the old Nazis that supported Hitler and think that the acts of the new Führer are too aggressive. But there are also groups like: "Die Weiße Rose", which have always thought against Germany. Maybe America could've supported them and started a Civil War in Germany. They could've put a Monarchy or a Democracy back in place with the 1933 borders (Saarland included, of course). But that are just suggestions, and in the beginning, you said that it isn't supposed to be realistic. But for that I must say, it is pretty realistic. I think that this is a great series (movie), it is a movie that has a bad ending, so it is practically a Drama. All in all, I must say it is a 10/10 from my side! If you can, make an alternative Version where Germany gets a revolution set up by America. And as we say in Germany: "Mit freundlichen Grüßen, Kay Stauffer (my real name of course xD)"!
I agree, Nazis are not fit to rule such a great nation. A military coup will be pleasant and is more likely to happen realistically.

I actually think this is still a good scenario i mean think about it ? Germany is facing a nightmare of administration and planning they just like ingsoc will consume their own fuel and destroy themselves

For the Allied Victory scenario I actually came up with an interesting idea for Germany as a last resort to turn the war around when the Axis losing was seeming likely
Germany basically thinks to himself, that the war can be salvaged, and thus, activates the chips on the super soldiers, but not to turn against their governments. He instead calls all forces to defend Berling, and leaves his allies to die. Basically showing, that he actually had little regard for his allies, and they only were tools for his plans.
How accurate would this scenario be?,
Hmm… even though I never conceived such a scenario myself, that actually does sound like something this Germany would do!

Though Japan would fall much earluer with my scenario (especially since most, if not all his troops/navy had been withdrawn to defend Germany, so the allies kinda just walk without much of a resistance, aside from the civilians. Maybe even they would just lose faith after being betrayed by Germany, so they just wouldn't oppose the Chinese, Americans and the Australians marching into Tokyo)
It may have a bad ending, but the truth is, no Empire in history has lasted forever. Even if that Empire lasts hundreds of years, maybe even thousands, there will always be that one crack in the wall that will result in its collapse.
Normaly i would say yes but they would kill everyone and than make the world only german, and the Goverment Use propaganda for Full Control , when they Want Full controll they will put Chips/ Mini Bombs in the Heads of the People to Control/ kill them. Nobody know the truth, Nobody hat the goverment, all love it and all are loyal to the goverment. In this world everything is under countroll forever... 😔

Well...Fatherland's book started in the year 1964 and the map was still like the video show in 1947. Then there was big crisis in Germany and it didn't seems it had conquered the entire world. Another weak point in the map is that nothing is said about the internal fight for succession in the Reich...

The end is very good but also very unrealistic, it's impossible for a country to hold so much land (the entire world) without anyone rebelling.
Wow... i like this one... not only as a german, but because its story was superb. I like how the countries, with human traits, are acting. And it makes dreams... I really wonder how I would live in such a world with us as leaders. And I wonder wether the "world capital", Berlin aka Germania, were build... Hitler was planning it before WW2, so I am interestet wether it realized or not. Last, I wonder wether the other nations were happy with this... wether germany could make it good... er, what I am saying! Facism isnt good in any way and schould be refused!
Yes, the World Capital Germania project was eventually realized in this timeline. And it’s up to your interpretation how things go after the war (like revolts, etc.)!

I find the end quite boring since all it that happens is Germany takes over the world easily in a cliche manner. But eh, probably because I like the good guys coming on top most of the time.

The best ending ever, but i wanted a nuclear ending instead of an evil ending. Where we rather live in a nuclear radiated world to be free than in a Dictatorialship.
