Have you tried using something like soothe 2 / smooth operator in sidechain mode and sidechaining the bass to the kick so when the kick hits, matching frequency ranges on the bass get turned down without affecting the frequencies that aren’t common between the two sounds?
Good stuff.. I also bought this plugin a while back because I saw someone use it... Never touched it again and just used 909 kicks... Good reason now to go back to it and try a bit more and get creative. I don't understand the gate though. The 4/4 kick is on a different channel how would this know when to get out of the way of that one.
Great :) if the Gate is one he ignore the decay so the sound is the same long like the midi note and with that you can play and control it very good to never layer with the kick.
thanks man! inspiring! so you avoid kick bass clash here by using kick 2 to make the bass, then using gate mode and placing midi so it never touches the 4/4 kick notes
When it comes to techno, you are such a great inspiration!

for this Technic we have billion videos on UA-cam, this was just one way to do it with kick 2 for Alex.
Damn.... You just made me wanna spend £50 on Kick2 now. 😩
If you don't have the money don't do it you can do the same with DS Kick!
but i really should get more affiliate links going on haha

Absolut! 👍
But i also think sometimes a bit of decay can make nice overtones. But for a clean mix yes 🙌
