The 18th season of "America's Got Talent" returns with a new set of aspiring performers looking to compete for the ultimate $1 million prize. Executive Producer Simon Cowell returns to the star-studded judging panel with global fashion icon Heidi Klum, fan-favorite comedian Howie Mandel and acclaimed actress and international superstar Sofia Vergara. I really think, the song choice was actually great. They decided to take a risk down something they're not used to singing, since they are pretty much Disney/Musical Theatre, but to show that they will try something they aren't used to doing really shows dedication to something, like AGT, where they can show they will take a risk to get to the next round. In my opinion, it's not about playing it safe, cause if you play it safe, it's basically, you not showing why you deserve the top spot. I applaud The Sharpe Family on their run on AGT, and really think they did better on this performance than some people may think. I think they did amazing, and it was amazing. They'd get a yes from me on both of their performances.

The song wasn't for everyone but I if the judges focus on the talent and the vocals they will notice the beauty and the real meaning of this show, it is not a musical concert it is a talent show, and the family really shows talent.

I was stunned by their song choice- in a good way. They showed unexpected versatility and I think it's one of the best song choices they've done. Even Simon at least showed them appreciation. I don't know where Howie's mind was.

I personally love them! I love that it's a family group and I was happy to see them try a non musical theatre song to show something different, and I enjoyed their rendition of that song. I believe they are extremely talented, and I can definitely see them being really successful performing in many different places. It's a beautiful thing to showcase a family group who sings together and shows how much they enjoy what they do.
In my opinion I think they were awesome especially if you close your eyes and listen. Absolutely great high pitched voice, also the range to bass.

Carry on my wayward son is one of the best songs written ever it has elements of classical music elements of classic rock and the harmonies were so tight and had a great blend it always makes me laugh with shows like this were the majority of the judges don’t actually have any singing ability themselves and are commenting on other peoples vocals I got so excited with the song choice because it’s unexpected and range in genres and dynamics is as important as “staying in your lane” as Howie called it I’m sure lots of people thought the same thing when Taylor swift went more into pop than country and look at her now

I can see where the judges where comeing from but they didnt need to be so harsh about it. The Sharpe famliy is sooo talented and they should go through to the next round. This just shows the reality of these kind of TV shows. i hope they prove the judges wrong.

I am tired of the acrobatics, drummer groups and country western singers. Time to move on and get some talent in here. I surprised they all made it through. How many times can we see the same people hanging from poles in the skies. Not interesting. Tired of magicians, ventriloquists and the average performer that we see every year. How about a comedian for a change?

I'm a huge fan of Supernatural, and I personally loved this performance!
I did not like what the judges personally had to say, but I am not surprised. The way the world works is that you show them so much of ONE thing that then when you bring something new to the table, they'll shut you down and try to shove you back into the category they've built up for you themselves. They'll tell you to stick in your lane, and you'll lose all support for the change that you want to make. You'll never go any further if you allow them to do that.
The same thing happened with Matthew McConaughey, but he set them straight.
Expand your portfolio. Stray away from disney.. show the world you are meant for a lot more and believe it, cause you are. You're not limited to just family / musical theater, and I still can't believe that they tried to box you in like that.

Howie didnt like their performance because they didnt stay in their own lane, but the thing is they wanted to stay in their own lane. They explained in a live that they gave the producers several greatest showman and disney songs, but the producers said no and said to do something different. So they picked that song and the producers said "howie is going to love it" well....he didnt. So they were basically set up, and its sad because they are amazing, absolutely amazing. I still think they have a pretty good shot at the finals.
You are right they were set up. They really had no chance but this was a way to create some drama for TV. They were good but never going to make it to the finals even if they sang songs “in their lane”.

They can sing alright but just not a Vegas act. Can you imagine going to Vegas and sitting through that without eventually falling asleep? Branson always needs good singers.
It was a terrible song choice for them (& I do own Kansas albums!). The style they used for their audition was what made them endearing to begin with.

Howie buzzes when he gets annoyed by things. He denied an amazing girl one time just because she sang a song from Frozen 2 but that woman KILLED the song. He shouldn't be a judge anymore, he lets personal bias affect his actions and he doesn't even hide it

Really, they remind me of the family acts with a “wholesome” reputation from the late ‘60’s-early ‘70’s: the Cowsill’s, the Jackson’s, the Osmond’s, the De Franco’s (remember them?). Really, the Sharpe’s could bring back that genre- even if it’s on Disney +!

@@katrinasiuthe issue isn’t that it’s an old song it’s just that their type of singing doesn’t fit rock all too well. Also we all know the sister and mom carry the performances from start to finish. The judges made the right call when there’s this much talent they can’t act like everything was amazing.
First let me say, I LOVE them and I support them!❤ They are talented and LOVED their Moana rendition❤ but I agree with Simon Cowell... you only have two minutes and you can't experiment or try to prove something or anything else. You need to be head-over-heels better than your 1st act. And sadly, this was not 😢 I think it was a mistake for them to choose this for AGT only because this was their ONLY shot... do or die. A country singer can't try something different and do opera. On the road yes they can but for this show, they have to stick to what the audience sees them as and what made them loved and cheered for! If they go on tour, they can do this. But NOT for AGT. It has to be perfection. Look at the other acts like Murmuration... they have to be up there with them! What Simon Cowell meant is stay in the lane that made everyone absolutely love and adore you all!❤ I hope they become more well-known because I would love to see them again other than UA-cam.❤

I feel like the parts where the whole family was singing were better than the parts where it was just one of them. Like as a group they're great but when it's just the individuals they probably wouldn't have made it past the first round cuz they just don't really stand out. (Maybe the mom but not the others) It night be the song choice or it might just be me but personally I feel like it could be better if they all had strong voices on their own because they do work together beautifully but alone they don't really stand out as anything more than good

Come on people, this is TV. Haven't you learned by now that contestants don't have complete freedom in song choice? Producers push some of them into songs that don't fit them, and then judges axe them for poor song choice. It's a well known way of narrowing the pool. And do you really think all the judges' responses are spontaneous and genuine? Of course they aren't. They discuss who they're going to boot, who's going to be the booter, and who will remain positive as a way to soften the blow. And they know that sheeple will parrot their criticisms in the comments to make it all seem fair. Sheesh. How long has this show been going and people still don't realize this???

Judges comments weren’t valid in the slightest. Agt just needed more drama so they chose to put it on this amazing family with children in it. Really disgusting to see. This family deserves so much better than this fake show. As a lifelong choral musician I thought this was absolutely amazing! “Over-the-top emotions” bro what??? There’s literally nothing wrong with that. It’s always encouraged in musical theatre. And the song choice, I’m sorry but they NAILED IT. I have no clue what people are talking about with the song choice they executed it so well. It’s one of my favorite songs and trust me if it wasn’t good I’d be disappointed but it was GREAT. I’m truly so mad at this show

I don't get how anyone can criticize the amazing voices that each member of this family has. I am glad they showcased each one a bit because every one of them can sing and deserved to be heard. I really don't understand the "church" comment. I've never heard that song sung in church so I'm not sure where that came from. I think the song was fine but I would have liked to hear them sing "Into the Unknown". They smashed that one. Anyway I voted as much as I could for them.

For this performance they gave us an AGT choreographer. In The first audition we used our choreographer that we’ve had for years ❤
