Have you ever thought about sanding half of a ball with 180, and putting the other half at like 5000 polished to see what the reaction is like? The rule making bowlers have one consistent surface prep on on a ball always made me wonder what possible advantage you could gain by doing multiple surface preps.

Well the advantage would be doing something like going over your track, and having your flair be something else. Then there is also the issue is if you do the just the track enough, the ball is no longer technically round.
It would probably end up as disadvantage. The Quantum Helix was a cool experiment but I don't know anyone who did well with it consistently. I sold mine after like 10 games.
I do imagine that this could be a real advantage. If you have consistent flare rings on your ball, you could prep the surface in a way, that the ball goes through the front end without friction and as a massive ammount of friction towards the break point. This way you could basically blend out lane conditions.

My all time high is a 245 that i bowled with a 10lb Ebonite Cyclone. I now throw 14 but i haven’t gotten close to that 245 yet so maybe i should go back down in weight lol.

Those kids screaming sounded like R2-D2 😭😂. I throw a 14 lb tropical surge it works pretty well for me. I’m probably going to get something more high end and 15 lbs from my chose a ball league this summer. Any suggestions for bowlers that are between beginner and experienced?

Dont forget to give my method a try. 10-12lb ball from same board you play aiming to 1-3 pins in a straight line with 20-25mph speed.

All weights in regulation are the way to go for at least some people, since there is no one size fits all. If you are your league's high average champion, you should go with a 16 lbs ball. In this case, you should be able to average even higher with a 16 and show them why you are the high average champion, but for most other bowlers, lighter is better. Ladies, you are likely better with a 12 to 14 lbs ball than you ever will be with a 15 to 16 lbs ball, not to be sexist, but 15 and 16 lbs balls work best for a group of mostly men and those are NOT beginner friendly weights. The heaviest ball in regulation works best for you, specifically if you are an expert, but it is not for novices.

I like seeing these videos of skilled bowlers using lighter bowling balls affectively.
When you go to purchase your first ball everyone says go heavy 15- 16lbs, not knowing the potential mileage we may have on our arm, hand or shoulder from lets say, work.. Seeing results in this video may inspire someone to get a lighter ball, focus on technique and consistency and later move to a heavier ball.
I loved the bowlers in the lane next to you..I sometimes feel like I'm the only one.. I seem to attract the loudest and most obnoxious bowling neighbors every time I go out..

The kids can be very distracting but it's a great way to teach yourself discipline and to keep your focus. The kids usually just go up and throw without any regard for whos throwing next to them. I just patiently wait for them to throw first and take breaks if you need to. ;)

I’ve bowled 279’s 280’s 298’s 299’s 300’s all next to kids that are like that if you can’t concentrate while bowling are you really a pro/good bowler imo a good bowler/pro should be able to block all that out and focus on there game at say a big tournament like the US open it’s not exactly what you call quite it’s pretty damn load actually

Love your vids. Glad you made this one. I'm 64 and have strength issues now. I use a 10lb ball, and still average 180 with it. My friends give me grief, but I point to the scoreboard. When I was in my 20-30's I was a 202 ave. Stopped bowling because of injury and now after 30 years I'm loving this game with this little ball. Wondering if you could do a vid with the Hammer Raw 10lb. That's what I use, would love to see you put a 300 up with it.
