Mine is the beach. It has the level of creativity and effort that Tropical Freeze has in most of the game. Every level has multiple cool ideas, every level looks quite different despite being in the same world, every level has it's own music track, I love it.
Both games are excelent plataformers and I like them very much. But I totally agree with you. DKC Returns is way better than Tropical Freeze 👍 You know why its better? For one simple reason: DKC Returns is a better game because, unlike Tropical Freeze, DKC Returns has only 2 characters (Diddy and DK). "Why?" you may ask 🤔 By having only 2 characters, the stage design is limited to a compact yet well established moveset. DK is heavier. Diddy is lighter and can hoover. Thats it. Simple yet efective margin of movement. This defined completely the stage/plataforming design of the entire game. DKC Returns plataforming is way more challenging, creative, demanding in skills, and consistent, and it makes the most of it besides the limited moveset. Less is better. On the other hand, DKC Tropical Freeze has 5 characters (DK, Diddy, Dixie, Cranky and Funky) which means that most stages have an overall generic and easier design to follow. Diddy can hoover. Dixie can hoover + elevate. Cranky uses a cane as a jumping tool + allows him to go through vines. Funky has all of them above. Thats way too many options and movesets! Its imposible to make a solid plataforming that includes all of the movesets. So, the plataforming was clearly compromised by including all 5 of them. Ergo the overall difficulty was lowered down. You see where I am going with this? Yes, there are some stages that require specific characters, but they are the minimum. Whats the point on using Diddy or Cranky when you have Dixie and Funky? Everyone just uses Dixie to go through the game, and thats it. Plus, lets not forget that every character has a special power, which makes the game even more easier. Lastly, Tropical Freeze has less worlds/stages (its a shorter game) 👍 To compensate this, TF included several new mechanics and gimmicks, like underwater stages, throwing bombs, throwing enemies, grabbing handles, and an overall better stage/cinematic presentation. I give you that TF has better resolutions and polished graphics, and cinematic cuts, but, DKC Returns, for me, its way better ❤ The game was very honest to the OG lore. DKC franchise was always about going through a desolated yet dangerous world, revisiting abandoned areas, almost like a post apocaliptic world. DKC 1 and 2 especially explored darker themes, just like DKC Returns did decades later. Also the ost is a prove of that. DKC Tropical Freeze feels too joly and happy and loud, which is fine, but its not what im looking for in a DKC game exactly. Saying all of that, I really like both games veeery much.

Like you said, the last world mostly, and also the Juicy Jungle World I would say.. other stages like: - the fire savanah🔥🌳 - the rainy forest canoe stage 🌧🛶🌲 - The Hot Air Ballon one 🪂 - The windy tornados 🌪⚡️ - and some others stages, are very in tone with the DKC franchise. But when considering all of stages and worlds, TF is an overall "jollier" game (especiailly when compared to other DKC games). Most of TF stages hava a happier tone. On the other hand, DKC Returns is a love letter to DKC 1, which is a very dark themed game. All stages from World 8 (volcano), World 7 (abandoned industry), World 6 (Fossil canyon), World 5 (Forest), World 3 (abandoned ruins)!! All of them, have that desolated dark energy. Also the ost is a reflection of that. Im not saying DKC Returns hasnt happy themed stages. It does (World 2 mostly).. all Im saying is that, in relative terms, DKC TF is a jollier game compared to other DKC games

Amother well-known tip. If you hold in on the jump button, I don't know what it is with the nunchuck version but it's 2 with the horizontal version, and shake the Wii Remote or Wii Remote and Nunchuck, you can actually hit up to 22 punches on the tikis
