- This is up to now my smallest/simplest 5 speed gearbox.
It's not the strongest but very compact and fits in every moc.

This is illegal, I'm calling the cops! Right after a finish eating my pineapple pizza and boiling spaghetti broken in half
lol
🤣
@@LucasDynamics can you build a Transmission for my car (Look at my Channel ) it weights about 6 kg
@@steinestapler726 Here is a very strong one: ua-cam.com/video/A_IN1WyItkM/v-deo.html
I hope it helps...
@@LucasDynamics sadly Not the Red Slider ripped the inside of the gear
Oh wow that really nice. I’ll probably use it in my tatra truck!
Cool
How do you get it to shift so smooth?
I tested a lot of things, and this frame was the best (with the smoothest shifting)
this is amazing
Thanks!
It needs a clutch
Then its not anymore that illegal
I know, but this makes it bigger...
Its great! Only problem is that it needs reverse gear.
Flip the switch on the battery 💯💯💯
@@Guhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh 👌🤣
guy earned a sub
Now guy is happy!
I made one of these but with a gear selector built on top for precise shifting
Cool!
Is there a UA-cam video?
Wow, its realy cool! I build this for my car-SAAB 9000!
Cool👍
*This is genius!*
Thank you!
Nice! Only thing is it doesn’t have neutral…
Thanks 👍
If you really need a neutral you could install a longer axle
Since you probably also need reverse anyway, you could handle both reverse and neutral via a separate gearbox.
@@SeanMirrsen I usually dont use reverse unless im making a motorized model, but i would probably use a DNR selector for the neutral. Thank for the suggestion
SeanMirrsen Good point, but every "gearbox" more adds friction...
@@Yusuffriedman What is a DNR selector?🤔
Can i put it on a lego vaccum engine and if i can How do i hook it up to a lego vaccum engine
A vacuum engine is VERY fast, this is why you need a gear reduction so that you have enough power to run the gearbox.
@@LucasDynamics so if I built it as so it might not be able to hold the power?
@@stupidshetproductions No, a vacuum engine is usually fast and weak. If you gear it down, its slow and strong. If you doesn't gear it down, the vacuum engine would probably not have enough power to run the gearbox properly...
@@LucasDynamics oh! Ok, sounds good!
@@LucasDynamics so I just need to give the gearbox lower gears?
Great video! Thanks for upload!
No problem!

Nice design but others already made a concept like this.
Yes maybe similar, but not as small as this variant...
@@LucasDynamics this was on Reddit the other day. Same size in proportion too. Only difference here is the one on Reddit is built with a slider motor to control the gears.
@@TheRealBmanswan A "remote switch" is cool, but it makes it way bigger and this one is for small mocs...
@@LucasDynamicsexcept it doesn't increase the size of the Moc to add the switch to it. It's also a very pointless function for Mocs without being remote controlled. It'll slip out of gear naturally on its own. Especially if you're on an incline of any sort. I should know I've built it before.
@@TheRealBmanswan This one doesn't slip on his own in nutral, because I built the "switch" stiffer...
I swear I have seen this gearbox all over the Internet for so many years, maybe credit the original (whilst hard to find) creator nextime
Yes of course. I searched a lot but always kept finding older ones...
i made this exact thing piece for piece 3 years ago is a mustang build wtf bro
Cool
But I don't think so small
Cool
Thanks
Sun is shining, birds are chirping, and the fbi is coming
😅
Does it work similar to real car's variator gearbox, doesn't it?
Not exactly the same but similar and more compact
So in terms of legitimate building techniques, would it be correct to say that the meshing with the double bevel gears are legal but the meshing with the spur gears are illegal?
How many knobs is each gear i would like to build this myself cuz it looks to work so amazing🙃
U should have given credit to the original :/
You are right, but do you really know the original...?

This isn't the original
Have you ever heard how to calculate the tooth profile of a gear wheel? Lego did its calculations well. You kind of spoil them with your experiences.
Yes, it demonstrates well the theoretical principle of changing gears between pinions, but if you apply torque, it's over with the teeth of the wheels.
Thank you for your detailed feedback!
I used such gearbox for a long time, and the gears are like new...
Of course, it's not ideal, but I am sure that you don't have to worry about your well engineered gears.
