The King of Fighters '98 Ultimate Match playthrough (PS2) (1CC)

Playthrough with the KoF boss team: Omega Rugal, Orochi and Goenitz. I have no idea what I'm doing with Goenitz so don't expect to see him very often. For those who don't know, KoF '98 UM is a re-make of KoF '98 which adds new backgrounds, changes moves and adds characters who were missing from the original KoF '98, such as Kasumi, Eiji and Geese.
KoF '98 UM was also released for the Xbox 360, but it is missing several backgrounds and the online play is lousy. So the Playstation 2 version is the one to go for.
Regarding the European release of this game -Ignition Entertainment did release this game in Europe, but it seems it never made it into stores. I've only ever seen the European version sell online (I got mine from eBay). It seems something bad happened with the distribution of their final PS2 releases, as Samurai Shodown Anthology never made it into stores either.

The PS2 version has 3D backgrounds. Xbox 360 version had 2D backgrounds.

I can confirm that it made to the stores for a European release, it has been sold in France in 2008 in Micromania stores where i've bought my copy back then. (i was working in Micromania at the time, we only received 1 copy of the game by the way) remember that the PS2 in 2008 was already dead.

guillaume pascal I just ordered the German version. Doesn't matter which PAL version you get, they're all in English except for the manual.

Rage Quitter 87 i have a question. In the options menu i saw FLASH option for on and of
IF you turn it off does the Red and White strobing from the KO screen after knocking out the last opponent no longer strobe red and white/
Like does it just use the normal background? does it stay a constant red?
i need to know this as my sister has Epilepsy and i dont wanna worry about her. I hope you can get back to me

Hi, if you have flash off it does turn off the KO effect. It also removes flashes from super moves, like for Ryo and Robert's ranbus there are no flashes for each hit. There is still a flash when a super move is started though

Hold on one last thing? So normally the screen would flash 2-3 times doing a special moves but with it Off the screen will only do it once after firing? Just asking as thats fine. It was an issue i have With X-men vs Street Fighter is i wish it only flashed once. instead of mutliple times as it gives me a headache I got the KO Effect goes off just making sure

That's only an issue with the US PS2 Orochi Saga, 98 UM is flawless.

You have to get to him, and beat him. Doing so unlocks him for use in the game.

You gonna defeat opponents with at least 6 Desperation moves in your first 3-4 fights, and then you’ll fight Orochi Team, before Orochi himself. Just defeat him and you’ll unlock him.

You need to play arcade mode and get the KoF '97 boss route, beat Orochi and you will unlock him.

@KyoTheGamerYT you have to beat opponents with Desperation moves at least 6 times during your first 3-4 matches. Doing so, allows you to get the 97 route, where you fight against the Orochi team and Orochi himself. Beat him and unlock him.
