Dandelion was my favorite Crayola Crayon as a kid. It’s a shame they discontinued it because it’s so much better than a blue that looks like one of the other blues that come in the pack.
Rae made a good point; there are SO MANY other blues, why add another one? Now we're stuck with two yellows: the basic yellow and ugly yellow. Dandelion NEEDS to come back. It was such a warm and beautiful color. And the name is just fun to say.
From a person who’s English is not the first language, your vídeos are simply clear to understand! Your diction is fluid and i love to watch your videos with no need of subtitles ❤️
I can't believe those crystal markers ACTUALLY WORKED??? if they could work in a sketchbook I would 100% use them (even though I live in a cold, humid place 👀)
I bought these for the kids once. We live in a semi-desert where we don't see rain for months on end and our top humidity is 30%. They worked great for us lol
My cousin has these and...they actually work VERY WELL although their kinda hard to draw anything good and detailed with them, but they are for kids so it makes sense
Just wanted to say that the Elmer's color stick may just have wax blooming on it, which is why it looks like mold. Not positive, but you see that a lot with older products with wax in them. :)
Yea! i'm familiar with wax bloom! I thought it was at first but upon further investigation I seemed to be mold- ot was even on the inside of the plastic cap too
@@SuperRaedizzle Oy, that is so gross. ☠ For your sake I wish it had just been the wax bloom. 😣 Thank you for doing such a cool video, despite the products being old!
Those crystal effect markers were SO cool!! My only complaint was once they got a little old they would crystallize on the tips of the markers.. like it would literally grow crystals! 😅
I had those rainbow brush pens as a kid and I loved them! I used them until ran out of ink. They definitely blended for me (my parents kept some of the stuff I drew with) and I don't remember them being so hard to use. Maybe since yours are old they maybe partially dried up and such why they didn't work
I GOT SO EXCITED WHEN YOU MENTIONED THE CRYSTAL WINDOW MARKERS!! I 100% HAD THEM! I DIDN'T KNOW THEY WERE DISCONTINUED! (They dried out REALLY easily lol)
can’t believe those crystal window markers were discontinued???? I remember scribbling everywhere with them and watching it crystallize. Felt so much more recent than 2012
I think Bluetiful is Crayola's version of YInMn blue, so it's not quite "just ultramarine blue". I definitely agree that they should have replaced a blue or possibly one of the reds as those seem to be the two most plentiful in the 24 pack. Even if they had just replaced the color in the 24 pack, retiring Dandelion altogether was a big mistake, it's such a unique yellow!
I have the crystal effects markers! I posted a video with them a few years ago and I literally have people asking to buy them off me 😅 but I love them! They bring me joy! 🥰
Hello Rae! I’m gonna tell u something. I was born in a poor house, although I enjoyed art and sculpture, sometimes art supplies were so expensive we couldn’t even afford. Now am older, we moved to another state for better life conditions. I can already buy my art supplies, but I’ve been a fan since a while ago, my moms a graphic designer and we used to watch your videos together. Just so you know, you inspire people, many people, I really admire your work and you are such a funny and incredible persn, ily and keep making your incredible videos, thanks for making me the artist I’m on my way to be :)
Hey Rae, may I suggest a content please? Create an art using art supplies from different countries. One episode each chosen country. I hope this could spark an idea. Love you Rae all the way from Philippines. 😘
honestly as a calligrapher that sponge and ink thing would be so so useful and it would be easy to make larger customized fonts. I also think those rainbow brush pens would be good too considering the fact that they have a very large squared nib. Its a shame they were discontinued
This was quite an eclectic collection of products and I would not have thought it possible to make such a stunning artwork with them. You're truly talented!
Crayons don't get moldy. What you are seeing is wax bloom. Yes, the same wax bloom you sometimes find on wax-based colored pencils. It's just the binder separating from the wax, rising to the surface & crystalizing. It occurs most frequently when crayons or colored pencils are either old or low quality. You can scrape it right off & can rest assured that it is not mold. 😉
I wanted the rainbow sponge and the rainbow markers so bad when I was a kid. Good to know the sponge worked and markers didn’t work as expected. Honestly, it’s probably for the best I never got the sponge when it was in circulation. I guarantee that ink would have been EVERYWHERE if I had gotten it back then. Lol
It makes no sense at all why they would discontinue beautiful Dandelion Yellow and replace it with a Blue! Why not replace with at least another yellow?
Rae definitely does her research and deep dive into the history of art supplies. Those markers are so cool and I would love to have had them as a kid. Also the rainbow sponge, reminds me of the rainbow art rollers for kids from the 90s (which you have also reviewed)
never saw anything like the stained glass markers 😮 they are absolutely stunning!! some crystallisation process, i was always amazed by those textures and was sad it's not possible to incorporate in an artwork
Dear. GOD. THAT. PAINTING. 😍😍😍😍😍 I was literally smiling and panting when you finished it!!! It’s one of my favorite paintings I think I’ve ever seen!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤
This is what I was wondering! Also, surely even in the original product, they acknowledge that you can wash the sponge. Right? Right??? It would be absurd not to!
Rae Now: I don't know why Crayola got rid of this beautiful, red-orangey golden Dandelion tone, it was so pretty! Rae then 2 years ago from the Yimin Blue Ep: Crayola got rid of their Dandelion color to replace it with blue and I personally never was a big fan of it anyways. Goodbye, Irene! ASDFGHJKL THATS CHARACTER GROWTH RIGHT HERE XD

I bought the ink and sponge kit back from Posh Impressions when it was popular. Also had a few other ink sets from Posh as well. This year during one of my inventories of the craft room I found it again, but the sponge was not in good shape (I had used it a few times 20 years ago), so while the inks are still good, I had to toss the sponge. Too bad, that dense sponge was pretty magical!
Beautiful painting Rae. I still have my rainbow sponge. I'm in the UK so it was hard to get & very expensive at the time. Great video as always, thank you.💜

Same I had them too and they blended really well for me
maybe the sponge was so old it turned brittle and couldn't absorb as well, so that kept the colors from saturating the entire brush to the edges
By guess is that the sponges dried out and shrank, causing them to not touch and therefore not blend
same here! blended well while the ink was still fresh. it didn’t last very long tho…

There are barely any yellows, at least replace with a yellow instead of a blue

Or like, one of the like 4 or 5 blues that are barely a shade different..
