Hey Goblins, thanks again for watching. We've noticed a slight error with the GTR1400 specs listed in the video. The stated displacement in the video is 1441cc, however its actually 1352cc. 100cc makes all the difference 🤣
Been riding a zx 14 for two days, no lie, the traction control is on point. The electronic aids are just perfect. Not too much. Not too little. I love it. And the ABS is pretty great for the road. Too bad it isnt mine XD and I'm returning it tomorrow.
depends which year model. my 2021 ZX14r is in fact 1441cc. also in Aus there is no ZZR1400's. We only have the ZX14R for at least the last 14 years. I think ZZR is the UK nomenclature but am happy to be wrong. The busa (Gen3) does not get close to my 14 in terms of comfort, ride, or power. Also have rode with a H2 - they are a bit more nimble in the twisties, but i think that comes down to their less weight, and therefore do not need to brake so hard arriving at corners at speed
Owning a zzr1400 and have testride a H2 SX. And I couldn't agree more with you. The ZZR1400 is indeed another beast who stands on top of the food chain. Truly a modern classic.
I have owned an '06 ZZR1400 for 6 years. First year of manufacture, totally standard. No aftermarket exhaust etc, nothing. I could write pages how much I love it. It commutes at low rpm, it will swing through the bends so nicely, it will rocket up that tarmac road like holy christ on a melting iron lava flow! It does it all. My favorite and most prized possession. The ZZR 14 is spectacular, if you can ever test ride one, or even buy one, do it. Its phenomenal. P.S. be careful, it will do 100mph in 2nd and you will feel like it's doing 50. Too easy to do high speeds.
If you think that's ridiculous, get an exhaust and have it tuned, especially to have the 2ndary butterflies open up at low RPM. In stock form, they open just above 6k, so nothing really low down. Flashing out those butterflies, it pulls like it does at 6krpm, at only 2200rpm. Absolutely insane.
Ive ridden a blackbird and ive never felt anything like the feeling of the bird pulling you up the road, the pressure of it, atleast until 150mph with a pillion haha.... how does it compare with a blackbird? Im looking to get one next year
I’ve had a gen 2 busa, a gen 1 zzr1400 lots of bikes in between but now back on a zzr1400 gen 2 and this bike is amazing, easy to ride and docile at low revs, open her up and it’s a beast..I agree with all you have said...a great all round bike, and I’m 51 years old 👍
People say the zzr and gtr are very similar, hhmmm the similarities end at both bikes have two wheels. My big GTR can hussle her bussle when she wants to but the zzr blows the living shit out of it... Still two beautiful bikes aimed at slightly different markets. Ya gotta love a fat Ninja..
I have the GTR and agree 100 per cent with you. I do annual trips riding for thousands of miles from the UK around Europe, Scandinavia. The thing with the GTR is that the shaft drive is maintenance free. Granted it can’t hold a candle to the ZZR but keep it in second and the Rev counter needle in the upper quarter she really hussles. The brakes are superb and the electronics are giggle inducing (pin the throttle wide open while banked right over and feel the power come in as you straighten up)
I have had many motorcycle including the ZX-12 and ZX-14, but through it all the only bike I have always kept is my 2008 Concours 14. It has the winning combination of power, comfort, and versatility.
I own the third ZZR 1400. I'm still madly in love with this project, which I think is very good. Very powerful bike but that takes you on a rocket with comfort. You can do anything with it and it never disappoints. I am so in love that 12 years ago I became the manager of the ZZR 1400 Club Italia group and every year I organize international events. ZZR 1400: fantastic bike!
I'm totally amazed every single day every time I get on my bike... The other night I was cruising about 90.... Pull back the throttle a little bit.... And we eeeeee.... Is like the power band of those two strokes when I was a kid only way faster! So smooth
Thought I'd mention passed my test on kh250 back in the day had 2 kz650 then years later 2 zzr11s new more recently zzr14 2009 zzr14 performance 2017 then zzr14 performance sport 2020 new still own" got a zzr14 performance sport 2016 for winter wich actually has been the best runner ironically' regreted selling that one best colour combo i think. Just brought a 2022 hayabusa not impressed actually took it back after a few days !! Although had a gen 2 and did like it. Also i have had hundreds of other bikes in my 57years but the ZZR14 is my favourite one' never fails to surprise me.
Debating between (funny enough) a zx 14 and a cbr 600. Rode a zx 14 today and damn, the traction control works really really well. And the power is mint. .....the cbr 600 is cheaper XD. lol
It’s possible to enjoy ANY bike, but the best bike for you is the one that feels like an extension of your body. I still think actively about traffic and I think about driving defensively, but I no longer “think about” my ZX14R when I’m in it. This is how I would imagine flying if I didn’t need a machine to help. Absolutely fantastic experience. A younger and less experienced rider will definitely see the 200hp and the 190mph on the spec sheet, whereas I enjoy feeling the entire weapon system. I guess that’s why I was able to pick up my 2014 in 2023 with only 2400mi on the clock. Absolutely brilliant machine…
I wish they'd update the ZX-14R. I appreciate that it is still made, but it shouldn't be ignored. Cruise control would be an ideal fit, a large color TFT display, heated grips, centerstand, and I bet they could cut 100 pounds of weight starting with the exhaust system.
Yes, the display is not really what one expect today - dark and gloomy. Some sorts of cruise control and updated electronics (cornering ABS etc) would be nice. I love the bike, just recently stepped up from a KTM (that had all possible electronics). Used to ride a ZX12R for a few years and wanted to return to a large powerful bike again - really missed it.
I've owned a 17 plate ZZR1400 since new - and I'll never let it go... I've ridden countless machines over the years, and for me the ZZR is the complete bike for me. It's got everything I could wish for; comfort, ease, looks, features, reliability (it hasn't skipped a beat at all), and the most fierce acceleration (throughout the whole rev range) I've could ever wish for, on tap! Torque truly is king! I've ridden the H2 (a whacky marvel of a machine, but I'll be honest, I was hard pressed to feel a real difference between the two bikes), and then the H2SX, which I found not to be anywhere near the same league as the ZZR, though I find it a very attractive bike. I often dream if Kawasaki ever did develop a supercharged ZZR1400 (can you imagine that!?!) testing for possible production 🤔 but, we'll never know now that production has stopped for the mighty ZZR, such a shame.. The only positive, they're now a collectors bike with a huge reputation - and there are many happy owners out there.
Very nimble in corners, will wheelie in fourth at 220kph using synthetic and if the road has sudden rises, no joke. Also just went to British Columbia from Toronto and back. Great gas milage, quiet, comfortable. An Axe murderer in a three piece suit. This genre of bike will be missed.
Awesome informative channel, own a 2019 Concourse 14 and a 2023 ZX14R. My Concors displacement is1352cc, my ZX14R IS 1441cc Have a great ride my Friend!!
I ride a Harley Davidson fatboy and a Honda cbf600n been riding since 2008. Never owned a sports bike but since I saw a zzr1400 with sport performance package at a garage in the sunshine on holiday I’ve been constant drawn to the zzr1400. If money wasn’t such an issue I’d definitely be test riding the zzr1400.
I bought a new 98 ZX-11, a new 07 ZX-14, and two years ago I bought a very nice used 08 Concours 14. They’re all awesome. The ZX-14 is the best bike I’ve ever had for the age I was when I had it. But at 60 years old now, the Concours is a better fit for me, ergonomically. It still has massive power and handles beautifully. I’d be happy with any of those three bikes. I can’t afford the H2.
This is sure it! You are spot on about comfortability and ease of riding. I am 51, and I just got mine, 2023 ZX14-R. I also have the BMW Grand America, and having the best of both worlds (in my own opinion), creates a great riding experience. Great video!
I've been riding about 40 years. I always wanted to liter bike... The GSXR 1000... Ever since I was a child and I first saw one at the Suzuki shop when I was picking up my little dirt bike.. I was in a trance just staring at it,. My parents were talking to me but all I could hear was blah blah blah...my dad started screaming at me.. said those motorcycles are f*** f****** idiots Jackie... So I guess it was 30 years later he walks in my house and there's one in my living room.. look on his face with priceless.. but now I got the ZX-14.. I do miss my Suzuki's. But the ZX14 is just awesome
I’ve owned 2 ZXR14 and a GTR14 at the same time. The ZXR is an absolute missile that handles and tours very well. But the GTR got out of the garage90% of the time due to great comfort and more than enough power. But every few months I would take out the ZXR and be blown away by how fast it is and how slow the GTR was compared even though the GTR is a fast bike. Conclusion they are both outstanding super reliable bikes.
Great Video and thanks.I started riding in 63 and was racing Triumphs and Harleys by 65.I rode up until the year 2000 and my last two bikes were and 88 and 90 FZR-1000 and then quit riding.Fast forward to 2021,i decided to have one more motorcycle before i passed and bought a new 2021 ZX-14r.I haven't even ridden a bicycle in those past 21 years and i got on that bike like it was yesterday.I'm 73 years young now and i can't think of a more comfortable and do all i want it to do motorcycle. On one of your other topics,on what kind of bike is this,i answered It's a drag bike you can tour on,lol. Thanks again.
Hi Goblins , I have had 3 of these bikes from 2008 to 2015 models, a beautiful and good bike in every way, I now have a H2 sx se , took me along time to get used to it as it doesn't have the brute power of the zzr. I was brought up on bikes with raw power, been riding bikes from 1979 ( the zzr is in a class of its own) . The H2 is so smooth but brutally fast (ecu flashed) without you knowing it , mine has been flashed so it has lots of very smooth power, now that I am used to riding the H2 I am enjoying it the most . I must say I wish I had the money to have kept my ZZR also as it is really a legend and a collectors item. I also had the 2010 busa a very fast bike solid in every way , also a legend of a bike but I felt the zzr was better for me that is. The bike show comparison between the ZZR and H2 sx was a huge mismatch as the H2 sx they used was a stock standard version (not flashed). Standard it is not what you pay for when you purchase the H2 sx. You are very right when you say the zzr is a very special bike.Thank you for this video Goblins
Have had a 2012 1400 since new, my son also has a 1400 (2015). I traded my 1400 for a 2020 H2 SX SE+. They are similar in ride quality, but the SX does edge out the 1400 on ride quality and comfort by a small bit. Handling is another matter. In tight twisting roads (talking like 45mph curves not 145 ones) the SX feels much lighter than the 1400 and more nimble. Neither can compete with a ZX10 or a ZX6R, but the 1400 is like driving a refrigerator compared to the real sport bikes. The SX is somewhere in between. Power wise, we have tried several scenarios all with the 1400 winning each time. The only win the SX has gotten is a lower speed roll from like 20-100 or a standing start to about 100...... after 100, the 1400 just starts to walk away. If Kawasaki hadn't cancelled the 1400 and kept it updated, I'd have traded for a brand new one. The electronics on the SX SE+ is far, far superior in every way. Heated grips...... on a 35*F day long ride you will wonder why you don't have them once you do ! Same with cruise control! Suspension that adjusts from the dash is another +, as is the nice display and rider modes. I loved my 1400, and still ride my son's once in a while, but the snappiness of the SX just brings a smile to my face each and every time. We switch riding all the time, and my son says the same thing, but he doesn't think the SX is worth the money they get for it compared to a new 1400. He might be right, but you only live once! Sorry for the wall of text. Happy riding, and thanks for the video!
Hi" I think all things considered the ZZR14 performance sport is a timeless classic and my favourite bike off all time regardles of what comes in the future I'm sure.
There's several things you can do to improve the 14R when it comes to cornering ... raise the forks, cut some weight (i.e. get a lightweight full exhaust, remove the center stand if your model has one, change to a lithium battery), switch to a 190/55 rear tire, get some decent sintered metal brake pads, etc. I did all those and the bike quickened up. Not quite as quick as my 2018 Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade SP, but close enough. Certainly not like "driving a refrigerator".
I have owned 2 ZZR 1400s and yes they are an amazing bike, the wife and I like to tour in UK and Europe and have to admit my 64 year old knees feel it after a ride to Belgium on the ZZR. I got rid of mine and now own the GTR 1400 and this is also an amazing bike for other reasons. Yes there's a shaft drive. There is more room for rider and pillion and for all the extra clothes the wife just has to take away with us. Both bikes are fantastic you just have to work out which one suits your needs at the time.
@@metal2metallica No I haven't I am really interested in trying the H2SXSE but I have been told it's poor on fuel but on the upside it's an H2 engine and can be remapped to get all of the massive potential out of it :)
Have a 10 zzr 1400 gen 1. My second one as had the first one without enough experience and sold it quite quickly. In love with this bike...and I've had many
Hi mate. Couple of years ago took mine on a European tour. On the last day I've done just over eleven hundred miles that day!! Definitely a sports tourer 😂👍
I own a 2022 ZX14r and a 2022 Hayabusa. The ZX14r is more powerful and more comfortable. I just ordered some 1 inch lowering pegs to make the Hayabusa more comfortable. The Hayabusa has quick shifter and cruise control which are awesome. Oil changes on the ZX14r are easier than the Hayabusa no need to remove plastics. The ZX14r is my favorite of the two to ride! This Gen 3 Hayabusa does have the edge on styling but the ZX14r is very close. I'm glad I own both but if I had to keep one over the other would be the ZX14r.
Last week ive dragracing my zzr against my friends ZH2. Most people tell ZH2 accelerates quicker then the ZZR, even the Kawasaki dealer tells. In reality my ZZR was pulling out on the ZH2 at higher speeds. We were both in a very big surprise. ZZR still incredibly fast, especially for its age. I think dealers just want to sell more ZH2's 😅
The ZH2 is king at 0-100mph. Once these bigger bikes get into higher rpms, then it will out pull the ZH2. What makes the supercharger fun is the low end pull and speed.
@@madrat5176 i live close to the german autobahn and for me its fun that my bike almost feels it has infinitive acceleration. Where the ZH2 stops accelerating, my ZZR is only at the end of its 4th gear. It keeps on pulling to its limiter in 6th gear at around 320 kmh. Its much taller geared and because of that the ZH2 feels faster but reality showes differently. ZH2 feels also much less stable under full acceleration in my opinion (even my friends opinion). ZH2 feels better for riding at slow speed in traffic
@@fiestjeuh1 I agree there’s a bit of perception here. The ZH2 “feels” faster than my friend’s Streetfighter V4 up to 100, although the Streetfighter is faster in a race. It’s again because there’s instant torque and power right off the line with the ZH2. I just want to have fun out there and the ZH2 is the most fun I’ve had on a bike and I’ve been riding over 30 years. I don’t really go to the track anymore, so my world is basically 0 to 125mph. I’m not doing 150+ on the highway (I don’t need to get arrested 😂).
Own a zx14r and a concours 14, definitely two different riding styles and power to weight ratios , torque is definitely higher since the zx14 had the engine up graded . But both are fast and fun for their own reasons , keep the shiny side up
I am reading your comment a year later, and when I get to "keep the shiny side up" part. I somehow had an image you having a eggshell white butt and you are flashing it high noon blinding every body 😅😂
I have a Gen 2 GTR and my chum has a gen 2 ZZR... THEY ARE NOT THE SAME.. Now my GTR can tramp on rightly but the ZZR is a different animal. Far lighter and a ballistic missile compared to my medieval canon GTR... Now as a 59 year old former road racer I'm very happy with my bike but the ZZR will put you in a different postcode in the twinkling of an eye... Great video..
I have had 3 ZX14’s 2009 -2014- then 2016 . The H2 SX SE is much easier to get more power with little mods. A exhaust and a reflash from Brock’s and you have 235HP . The ZX14R flash and exhaust 210hp. Ricky Gadson G62 supercharger impeller kit and your in the 260hp club. I think the H2 SX has a more natural sitting position as the 14R is leaning forward gets painful after a while.
Your report was so refreshing! I own two zx 1400 / 2016 & 2022 the bike is Soooo NICE I did it TWICE. Long distance is FABULOUS, please have trip money & BAIL MONEY, because if u see a ROAD that's CALLS U, it gonna get EXPENSIVE/ either GAS ⛽️ or BAIL $$$
Great video! Beautiful shots of you riding thru town and back roads! I went all in back in may and bought a 2012 zx14r. (SE model). It was completely stock and in near showroom condition. Pretty amazing to ride! That first 50 miles was an eye opener! People keep telling me I'm riding like an old lady but it can get you in trouble quick. My only complaint would be weight and seat height. But I'm a very tired 59 yo now. And a bit vertically challenged. This may be addressed this winter with a full exhaust and lowering kit. I took it overnight a few weeks back and put about 450 miles on it. Was really fun. Now it's just a matter of getting time and energy to ride. The ninja turns 40 in 2024! I had a 900 in 84. That was a blast back then. I also have a 92 zx11. I took 25 years off from riding but when I came back it was gonna be a Ninja! When you have a big Ninja,. Sometimes you just sit on a stool and look at it. The 14r is motorcycle art. Thanks for the great video and making my morning!!
So similar a story as mine, you have. Been riding since the mid-70s... then in the 80s to the mid-90s, I rode my 1982 KZ750. A really great bike for that time... just before the modern sportbikes came to be. Took a break for 24 years to raise the kids... and got back on last year on the ZX14R. A wonderful experience it is to have one! Now 60yo and only 5'9" and 135 pounds... and it's all good! Cheers!
I personally think it’s not dated at all, rather it’s timeless. It’s a thoroughbred motorcycle that’s a real riders bike, similar to how some modern aircraft feel like they fly themselves I fondly recall my old Cessna 152 which had nothing posh about it and just did what you wanted with all the feedback you could want. What improvements have newer bikes made on this engineering marvel? More electronics? What do they add to the riding experience? Frankly all I need in a bike is ABS, traction control and a fuel gauge. Love the analogue speedo and RPM gauges too. My dad’s BMW has lean angle indicators and all sorts of random stuff that never gets used. It’s just a means for them to say “look here’s something new!” evil increasing the list price.
I wish they had this same version in the U.S. i have a 2017 zx-14r and every time I see this one with the special windscreen, the Akrapovic cans and the Öhlins rear shock it makes me drool.
I had a 2013 ZZR for 10 year then exchanged it for a Hyabusa still prefered the ZZR as a good alrounder did everything perfectly and it was so comftable you could ride all day.
I have a 08, custom seat, rearsets and smaller pipes, show it who's boss and don't be afraid to throw it into corners it won't let you down... can't fault it.. 👍
It also hits that 300 km very quickly. It’s faster than that but speed limited. I’m 60 and bought mine in 2012 when the 1441 cc model came out. I love mine. Same color green as the one your riding except mine has the green flames. According to Wikipedia it’s the fastest bike in the 1/4 mile. It has a longer wheelbase and more weight to launch it faster without looping out than a H2R. That H2R is a beast top end but also illegal to ride on the streets.
I traded my 2019 Kawasaki GTR1400 for the 2022 ZX14. Both very powerful. ZX14 is faster. GTR14 is more comfortable for longer trips. You are sitting more in un upright position on the GTR14 and less pressure on the wrist. I have more fun on the ZX14 and it holds the line in a curve better. I have rode the GTR14 with Hayabusa's, Yamaha R1' etc. and trust me, it can keep up. The GTR14 begins to slow down after 130 on track but that dawg on ZX14, whooo, it just keeps on pulling strong "on track", as I won't admit to street speeds.
I agree with you 100%, they could reduce the weight a bit perhaps and update the electronics (modernize it with a tft and perhaps semi active suspension). Perhaps also a slight re-design as far as the look is concerned.
Watched your video because looking to change from a concours to a ZX14, I've done all the mods to get the HP about the same as a STOCK ZX14, & trimmed the weight ~ 25lbs but it's still way to heavy & combined with a glitchy KIPASS FOB system it's kept me from wanting to ride it much resulting in only putting on 1,000 miles in 8 years (I have other bikes to ride- get my adrenaline rush riding a Honda XR650R off-road) I've decided I need to improve the Concours or change to a ZX14 set up for sport-touring. Batman
Hey mate, great video, big up the Bus 😆 fantastic layout on the difference between the ZZR, H2 and my baby the GTR, I would still stay with my old man's bike the GTR1400 BUT, when I get the chance I will test ride the ZZR!! Hopefully see you up the Super Sausage Sunday, brothaaaa. 🏍💨💨💨💨
Currently riding the ZZR 1200 at the moment she's still quick for an old girl but want to upgrade. Been wanting the 1400 for a while now, that things a missile! Lol.
I almost brought the ZX14R but brought the Gen3 hyabusa. I did not like paying more today for a bike that, by comparison, is the same one being sold 8 years ago. I feel the bikes are equal. The choice of one over the other comes down to what performances you want. I will say that I have always liked the kawasaki Ninja engine performance. I owned a cruiser with a tuned down Ninja 600 engine for 16 years. The bike gave me everything I wanted, and I had loads of fun on it.
Hayabusa hurts my knees now. I’m 6ft 4 and even after some mods I’ve found the zzr1400 much more comfortable. Sad to see the zzr 1400 no longer new In stores now. Just in America. Was lucky enough to find a mint one from 2020.
I’m just buying one of these machines. I pick her up in 2 days time and I genuinely can. Not. Wait. Good vid thanks. It’s increased my anticipation tho!
I've owned 15 bikes since I came back to biking 10 years ago and the ZZR (had it 9 years now) is the only one that won't be getting sold, though my Z H2 SE is the perfect compliment to it. Yes the 2016 H2 was nuts, the Superduke was a wheelie machine, the sound of tha V4 on the Tuono etc etc etc. But none has topped the ZZR. It's the daddy.
The Zzr1400 is a great bike , havthad one , I miss a few things , but I personally prefer my H2 SXSe + 230hp of grin factor , amazing here in Spain 🇪🇸, no freedom in uk I’d never move back 🎉
I have a Hyabussa and a zx14 turbo but before the turbo the main difference between the both are leg positions, both are very comfortable bikes but the zx14 leg position is a little better for just cruzing and riding, the Hyabussa leg position is a little more back n up but they are both top notch bikes
I tried a 160 horse Ducati Multstrat, it felt dead compared to my ZX14, it was lighter to push around and maybe a bit more comfortable, but it was nanny to death.
I have a 21 zx14R, 21 zx10r, 21 H2 Carbon, 18 H2 sx se, 08 zx14. They are absolutely different, but amazing bikes . My H2 sx se is an absolute beast. In my case my H2 sx se is faster than my zx14R but I put a lot of money into it to do so .
Lol, Your comment at 4:40 hits my nail on the head. I'm 66, have an old Yamaha Thunderace and I'm looking at buying a ZZR this next week or 2. I've tried one for size at a local shop and it fits like a glove. Now, to find some money!
Hey dear Goblin, your videos are simply amazing, I really think you have produced the best and most comprehensive content on this particular bike, the legendary ZZR1400. This bike is a lifelong dream and I’m looking to purchase one, which brings me to a few questions for you. 1 • Should I look into buying a used one just like yours 2016 model, or a brand new one here in USA 2022 model. 2 • Are there any compromises on the newer model vs your 2016? Hopefully you can get back to me on this. In advance, thank you for your time and your amazing videos.
Hey, thank you for your kind words 😊 your first question is a tough one as we can't buy the ZX14 from new anymore in Europe, the 2021 model was the last for us here. So part of me would encourage you to buy the 2022 model whilst you can. BUT you really can't go wrong with any model year from 2012 onwards, as long as they've been looked after and serviced regularly of course. You should be able to find yourself a cracking deal on the used market with low mileage too. If finance is no object, and you like the 2022 paint, go for it, but don't be afraid to look used if it's a stretch buying new. As for your second question, as far as I'm aware, there aren't any differences between the models since 2012, just the paint work 🙂 Tag us on Instagram when you buy yours, would love to see it: @goblinrides Thanks again 👍
I’m sorry for not addressing you by your name, I know I’ve heard it in your videos but it just escapes me right now. So dear Goblin, I really appreciate that you actually took the time to reply to me in as much detail as you did, thanks 1441 times! I have another question for you. I am 54 and so that means that I am a level headed bloke, I say this because of my level of experience with motorcycles. I have had 3 in my lifetime. 1st a Honda Cross 125 CC (Rode that one for a couple of years in my late teens, even took a 300 mile road trip with it, it was grand) 2nd was a Honda Nighthawk 450 CC, rode that for about a year, adored it. 3rd was a Honda Hurricane 1000 CC, rode that one for a couple of years. On all three never had an accident, not even ever dropped any of them, I considered myself a good solid rider. The 450 Nighthawk had it in my early 20’s The Hurricane 1000 in my late 20’s But since those days, I haven’t owned a motorcycle. I know I still have it because on occasion I have ridden on a few big motorcycles without any hesitation whatsoever. My question is. I want the Kawasaki ZZR 1400 desperately, but it’s been a long time since I owned a big bike. I have a knack for driving and even flying airplanes and helicopters, that’s to say, I’m one of those guys that can really control vehicles well. Should I refrain from getting this Ninja or do you think a guy with my background can still handle the beast. I know going in what this magnificent motorcycle entails and means, I know the thunderous power it has and how it can bite if I’m not careful, I don’t want it to go fast, I want it because I love everything about it, the way it looks, the way it handles and the power in reserve always available if needed. I want it to do exactly what you do with yours, I want to tour small little towns and country roads and just enjoy life at its fullest with it, that’s my approach. What do you think? Get or not get. I ADORE IT, it is an obsession at this point. Thanks in advance for your time dear friend.
Don't be shy go for it. I did. Very few regrets. It's as tame as you ride it. Silky smooth. Comfy. I really lucked into my 2012. Beat several people by just a few hours for it. Took it tonight for 30 miles back roads for dinner. Was as nice as anything you'll ever ride.
@@gustavoarios Just get it. Seems that you're sensible enough to respect its power from what you said. You don't have to crack it open on the first day. But here's what you can expect from a similar 2016 ZX14R SE (the SE version is just that it is solid grayed-out color scheme, Brembo brakes and master cylinder with steel braided front brake lines) that I have in Calif: Mine has Akropovich headers with dual Yoshimura R77 cans, flashed/tuned, Sprint P08 air filter. That's it. And it's still a stock motor. The dyno in December of 2021 showed 200whp and 203mph... with torque of 116ft-pounds (or pounds-feet if you want). A gentle giant of a beast. Enjoy it! ...safely. (60yo, 5'9" and 135lbs)
@@gustavoarios Buy one, you won't be sorry. Very well behaved motorcycle at slow speeds, but willing to flatten your eyeballs if asked to! I'm 66 yrs old, 5'6", I lowered mine a little and gottle the Helibars to raise the bars an inch and this bike is comfortable enough to ride all day. Mine is a stock '07 and still feels like a new bike. Hope you get one...
I own the zx14 concourse I had a zx12r and I think that's one of the best motorcycles ever made. I couldn't find another ZX12 that's why I drive a ZX-14
I am falling in love with this bike just watching these videos.....right now I have a 2015 Kawasaki ninja 1000 and I love it, also I have a 2022 Harley fat boy that I just put an s&s 465 c cam in and it now runs as it should. But in all seriousness my ninja beats it in every area, I feel like Iam riding on a formula 1 race car with it. the fatboy is now up for sale ,lol.
As Rodm says, Gen 1 is the 1252 / 186hp version, gen 2 (2012 on) is the 1441 196hp version.
@@michaelbarnard2361 You mean "1352"?
Depuis 1 mois acheté et plaisir absolu idem seul bemol l ancien proprio qui regrette de me l avoir ceder ! :)
Ive ridden a blackbird and ive never felt anything like the feeling of the bird pulling you up the road, the pressure of it, atleast until 150mph with a pillion haha.... how does it compare with a blackbird? Im looking to get one next year
Pas faux l ami ! Meme ressentie avec la mienne depuis peu ! De 2014 ! ✌
I’ve had a gen 2 busa, a gen 1 zzr1400 lots of bikes in between but now back on a zzr1400 gen 2 and this bike is amazing, easy to ride and docile at low revs, open her up and it’s a beast..I agree with all you have said...a great all round bike, and I’m 51 years old 👍
2018 KawasakiZZR1440 is what I own , down side ? My age, 84
Just got my concourse yesterday. 🎉
Love my 2014 ZX - love riding it and even making a coffee and sitting looking at it! Cheers, Simon J.
I turn 55 this summer and still ride a ZX14R, a few others as well. The 14 is by far the best I have ever owned!
I just bought a ZX14R. It’s the best bike I’ve ever ridden. That bike has nothing to prove to anyone. It’s a experience riding it.
I love your videos. Today I just bought a 2009 zx14r. It's in beautiful condition. I'm very happy with it.
Best bike I have ever owned. I also have a zx10. No comparison towards the comfort part. Love watching your videos here in the States.
I use a Kaoko throttle lock - works as a cruise control
I've been riding for 50 years been wanting one for a long time. Great bike.
I met a guy on a Ducati 996 once... He was 93! 🙂 The more fun we have, the longer we live - that's my motto.
Great video - I have been riding 30 years and I have had A LOT of bikes and the ZX14R is by far and away the best bike I have ever owned / ridden.
Absolutely I've had them all at 57 zzr king of them all
Hey there, have you ridden a K1300s? I know the ZX is a whole different beast, but I'm thinking of upgrading.
The busa and the zzr1400 are the kings of bikes, both can do it all - good review
Totalled mine in 2019 after 10 yrs riding it every day. Summer, winter, sunny, rain, only took the car out for snow, black ice, and getting groceries.
I'm on my third zzr1400, and it's a keeper
Last week ive dragracing my zzr against my friends ZH2. Most people tell ZH2 accelerates quicker then the ZZR, even the Kawasaki dealer tells. In reality my ZZR was pulling out on the ZH2 at higher speeds. We were both in a very big surprise. ZZR still incredibly fast, especially for its age. I think dealers just want to sell more ZH2's 😅
The ZH2 is slower but the H2 Ninja is faster
@@pauldark3044 thats right!
Interesting, did they not upgrade the GTR engine when they did the ZX engine? Can you engine swap them?
FYI: AM 67 YRS.OLD
I got one as my first bike ... I'm 42 ... I love it ... Stay safe
I’m in my 4th one, brilliant machines. A shame they stopped coming into the UK.
You gotta explain that mirror mounted camera/phone setup!!!
Couldn’t agree more. These bikes are Legendary
I wish they had this same version in the U.S. i have a 2017 zx-14r and every time I see this one with the special windscreen, the Akrapovic cans and the Öhlins rear shock it makes me drool.
Iv'e onsold many bikes ,but my 14 will always have a place in my shed, very good bike
Amazing video bro. I own a ZX14R, 2015. Only regret is we can't do the original exhaust modifications
Well said, great video. I never ridden one but now I need to.
I'm 6'2"... 305. I ride my ZX14R on 700 mile trips every 3 months or so.. just keep the chain oiled. You can pass everything comfy @ 38 mpg
I have a zx10r and I'm eager to buy a zzr1400 without a doubt this bike is a two-wheeled hymn best regards
I rode a gtr14 for about 5 years. And thinking to own this zx14r too.
It's definitely a beast and comfortable. I went for touring also no issue at all.
I agree with you 100%, they could reduce the weight a bit perhaps and update the electronics (modernize it with a tft and perhaps semi active suspension). Perhaps also a slight re-design as far as the look is concerned.
Gonna get the 40th Anniversary 2024, can't wait. Retro graphics and thrilling ride, how can you beat it?
Hyperbike league : ZZR1400, Hayabusa, Honda Blackbird, Bmw K1300S
Watched your video because looking to change from a concours to a ZX14, I've done all the mods to get the HP about the same as a STOCK ZX14, & trimmed the weight ~ 25lbs but it's still way to heavy & combined with a glitchy KIPASS FOB system it's kept me from wanting to ride it much resulting in only putting on 1,000 miles in 8 years (I have other bikes to ride- get my adrenaline rush riding a Honda XR650R off-road) I've decided I need to improve the Concours or change to a ZX14 set up for sport-touring.
Batman
I'm an owner and I know exactly what you are speaking about, fully agree. There is nothing like it.
I prefer the GTR personally. But enjoy my mates ZX14R sometimes. Both will outlast the H2 Sx.
All I want is cruise control :'(
I have had 2018 concours 2010zx14 a few Harley's now I ride 2013zx14r It's a BEAST I am 55 keeps me young Nova Scotia Canada
I had a 2003 ZZR1200. I miss it everyday
Great video and thanks for not playing rock music in the background 😊
Hayabusa hurts my knees now. I’m 6ft 4 and even after some mods I’ve found the zzr1400 much more comfortable. Sad to see the zzr 1400 no longer new In stores now. Just in America.
Was lucky enough to find a mint one from 2020.
I’m just buying one of these machines. I pick her up in 2 days time and I genuinely can. Not. Wait.
Good vid thanks. It’s increased my anticipation tho!
sweet bike... usd to owned D1 zzr1100... maybe will have this sweet ride if i had the chance.
You said that you liked it. But where was the comparisons? I just got to watch yo ride around and see the countryside.
The Zzr1400 is a great bike , havthad one , I miss a few things , but I personally prefer my H2 SXSe + 230hp of grin factor , amazing here in Spain 🇪🇸, no freedom in uk I’d never move back 🎉
Could you walk me through your Go Pro setup on your chin? What is the mount? Which camera? Does it get in your way at all?
I’m getting one soon, nice to have such a good report about it…. Tell me what do you think of Honda blackbird which I’m riding now
I have a Hyabussa and a zx14 turbo but before the turbo the main difference between the both are leg positions, both are very comfortable bikes but the zx14 leg position is a little better for just cruzing and riding, the Hyabussa leg position is a little more back n up but they are both top notch bikes
Nice video! 🍀✌️
Thumbs up 👍
I've been riding for 50 years... My ZX14R is by far the best bike I have ever owned
It just does everything and everything you could ever want on the road.
I absolutely love my gen 1 zzr1400, my dream bike and will never sell it. New subscriber here, hi. 👍👋👊
Lol, Your comment at 4:40 hits my nail on the head. I'm 66, have an old Yamaha Thunderace and I'm looking at buying a ZZR this next week or 2. I've tried one for size at a local shop and it fits like a glove. Now, to find some money!
Still taking my H2. Best I’ve ridden
What uppgrade need to be done?
Cruisecontrol, raisers, double buble, etc?
I have been daily driving a ZZR 1200 for a few years now and I can't wait till I could afford as ZZR 1400
ZX14r has an overall better power band from start to finish than all the others combined
You are making me wanna buy one
Do it!!
Get one Tommorow
As for your second question, as far as I'm aware, there aren't any differences between the models since 2012, just the paint work 🙂 Tag us on Instagram when you buy yours, would love to see it: @goblinrides
Thanks again 👍
I’m sorry for not addressing you by your name, I know I’ve heard it in your videos but it just escapes me right now.
So dear Goblin, I really appreciate that you actually took the time to reply to me in as much detail as you did, thanks 1441 times!
I have another question for you.
I am 54 and so that means that I am a level headed bloke, I say this because of my level of experience with motorcycles.
I have had 3 in my lifetime.
1st a Honda Cross 125 CC
(Rode that one for a couple of years in my late teens, even took a 300 mile road trip with it, it was grand)
2nd was a Honda Nighthawk 450 CC, rode that for about a year, adored it.
3rd was a Honda Hurricane 1000 CC, rode that one for a couple of years.
On all three never had an accident, not even ever dropped any of them, I considered myself a good solid rider.
The 450 Nighthawk had it in my early 20’s
The Hurricane 1000 in my late 20’s
But since those days, I haven’t owned a motorcycle.
Would u pick this overall vs a MT-10 or S 1000 R??
I might have to get one I have the Super Blackbird I have the Suzuki Hayabusa I think it would look good in the lineup
they never should have discontinued this bike. and its cheaper than the h2 sx
What rpm is your bike set at on tick over mate.
Great video and a lovely bike, but 'Haitch 2SX' 🤦♂😂
You have to have a streak of suicidalness in you to ride a liter bike everyday.
It's simple as that, the zzr is a Sport tourer and the Gtr is a sport Tourer!
