New info for me, great - but now my situation became just a little more complicated and a little more clear - which bringes hope ❤️ Do You know that fermenting with yeast and lactic acid bacteria produces sorbitol and erythitol ?
I randomly one day couldn’t break down raw onion. It sits either in my stomach or smaller intestines and produces gas until I vomit it up. Any chance you know why?
Fructose is a different compound then fructans. So you could tolerate fructose fine and may react to some fructans and/or GOS. Both would also require different different enzymes for support depending on tolerance levels.

Does fructan intolerance sufferers and coeliac disease have a connection, other than issues with wheat? My mother and sister both have issues with onion and garlic - for my sister it triggers IBS and my mother had ulcerative colitis until she cut these foods out. Both have no problems eating wheat. My brother and myself are coeliac so we cannot eat wheat but have no problems with garlic or onion. I know coeliac disease is partly due to genetics and I have inherited the varient type of both alleles of the HLA-DQ2 gene so my mother would have at least one varient type herself and my sister has a good chance of carrying a varient. Has this gene been associated with fructan issues? Are there any other associations, eg would issues with fructan breakdown alter the villi or mucousal lining of the gut?
Having the celiac gene does not mean you have celiac disease (only a biopsy of the small intestine is truly diagnostic). If you have been diagnosed as celiac then you should avoid wheat even if you do not present with symptoms (some people can be asymptomatic but damage can still occur). I am not aware that having the DQ gene is linked to fructan intolerance, but fructan intolerance is very common (as IBS is as common as 20-30% of the population) and someone could have celiac disease AND intolerances or no intolerances.
Best video I've seen about the subject! Thank you so much.
Also made me realise how screwed I am about the process 🙃but it's best to know, right?
Monah university have studied this subject in more detail than anywhere else i've seen they have an app and it's amazing

For me, I have ZERO IBS symptoms until my anxiety triggers them. I am looking into trying a low fodmap diet to see if that helps.
Hi you can get the list here: www.dietvsdisease.com/fodmap-food-list?

So this could be why I passed the fructose breath test and cashew allergy skin test but may still be sensitive to fructans and GOs?!
