Used this beast together with an exped downmat hl winter lw and a thermarest z lite sol, plus a base layer, wool sweater, down pants, beanie, polar buff, thick wool socks + down boots and wool+thinsulate gloves during five nights in Kittila, Finland with temperatures between -28 and -40 C, and at some points of the night I was actually sweating, although, I couldn't say I could stay warm throughout the whole night just in a base layer and wool socks. I was sleeping alone in a four season two-person roomy dome tent (hilleberg staika), so that means there was quite a lot of extra space to warm up in there. Great sleeping bag, true to stated warmth, nice compressibility, and fair weight, thanks to top quality and high CUIN goose down. And yes, this a "HIGH ALTITUDE EXPEDITIONS - POLAR EXPEDITIONS - WINTER ALPINE CLIMBING" sleeping bag, but probably best for drier climates, otherwise the moisture tends to slowly freeze inside the sleeping bag and on the down, before it can escape through the breathable membrane, like it was in my case. If you get the chance to get one of these, then most of other sleeping bags will look like just a summer blanket.
@@abbgdr problem with that is its so warm you will now sweat inside the bag and its down so best to use a outer cover...I use a RAb pulk bag liner works great
Wouldn't it make sense to get a synthetic outer bag so the moisture freezes on the outside of the outer synthetic bag whe it starts to get cold again? This bag could take -80 with a synthetic bag on the outside lol
Nice, but how compact is it when not in use?

Thats why for longer trips I use a vapour barrier liner,, makes a huge difference!

-50* C is very cold.. do you mean -50* F?
50*f is almost the same as 50*c
It's the same temp and yes that is the temp range for this bag
