Himmel at the end mightve meant in general like the guy they left behind, but i always took it to mean towards the audience. Whatever he meant, Frieren is taking it in preparation when she meets Himmel again🥹

There's a reason Frieren still manages to keep the #1 spot of Best Anime of all time on MyAnimeList, it's just a beautiful story, can't wait for S2! 🥰

Wonder if Himmel at the end was breaking the 4th wall and talking to us viewers maybe.
Himmel and Flamme love her so much that they knew who Frieren really is. They knew she is actually a caring person hence why Flamme said that Frieren will regret it not making effort to know humans better and Himmel scold her when she doesn't wake up to see the sunrise because in reality she would be love it so much to do something with her friends.
Frieren is a fantastic story. I started watching the day it was released, and no one really knew much about it, anime watchers only, that is. The first episode was a little confusing at first because the main storyline was in the past. It picked up right afterward, which is genius since no one tells the story after the major events. We are getting two stores in one show with the entertainment of the excellent backstory inside the current story. Very refreshing and the mortality of humans has such an emotional element attached. This show changes people in my opinion, it has me.
Loved that they ended it with the Anytime Anywhere song at the end. The lyrics hit hard in regards to holding onto memories of loved ones/a loved one and seeing a better future even if there are times of sadness because they'll pass. Great song.
And the bit at the end for both the characters and the audience. It's been a journey for them and the us watching, meeting the characters and becoming attached, as it's felt like a staple for everyone who'd been invested and waiting each week. Until we see them again, we'll have the memories. When the next season starts, people are going to be emotional. Best anime of the last few year.
Anyone who does labor would appreciate spells like laundry spells, spells than clean kitchenware, spells that can help in farms, etc. that's why i understand why fern chose that spell.
Besides they're already living in a peaceful era, battle spells would be pretty useless considering that mages are already pretty strong and they can take care of threats such as bandits and demons.
Also, ubel just enjoys killing, and loves it when the opportunity arrives where she have to kill someone (for example when bandits tried to rob her). Also no humans in this show would join the demons.
Frieren is the only anime for a long time where it got me excited every week again waiting for the next episode. Before, I'm pretty much tired of anime for many years because i've watched so many animes and probably have watched 1000+ of them(i've been watching anime continously for almost 20 years). Especially when almost all of anime are following the same trope over and over again.
That's why even popular animes now that alot of people get hyped for like MHA, JJK, solo leveling, chainsaw man, demon slayer, etc. I can't even finish those because of how many generic tropes they have (it make sense though, why change the tropes if it still works right? They still make money doing those tropes) I can't even finish most of anime now i just ended up just watching 2 or 3 episodes i immediately get bored and stop watching.
That's why I'm happy that watching frieren somehow made me feel the joy of watching anime again.
My girl is fellow based Frieren manga enjoyer. The next arc is gonna slap so hard, y’all ain’t ready.
after all the crying lately and more tragic stuff going on in other shows it was really lovely to see you guys smile big watching this. this series is such a joy.
Completely unrelated but its oddly satisfying when Michelle pets the dog. I get this warm fuzzy feeling everytime. The baby is so precious.
I'm reading the manga of the next episode to ease my loneliness.

the last line about when we met again can also be taken a fourth wall message to the audience as to why there's no big season finale, because it'd be embarrassing when we meet these characters again

I started watching this out in public and as soon as the first frog leaped into my throat, I had to turn it off. This season finale had me all up in my feels. Cant wait for season 2 and I hope the author continues the manga.
