Totally love this channel. We're definitely on the same page when it comes to safety. Live to fly another day!!!
Thank you!
great job Kenny.
Thank You Dave!
Starting training in may, this is very helpful, thanks. Ive been practicing in msfs with max flight stick and i feel its been a great tool once dialed in correctly.
Great to hear!
It's like paused deadlifts

Isn't setting down faster a not great habit to build? Wouldn't it be better to learn to control the helicopter perfectly when it hits the cushion? For instance, in an off airport landing on unknown or soft ground, wouldn't you want to set it down as gently as possible?
Correct set down should be nice and gentle this is just a demonstration of what people do.
First off, thank you for the videos, they are great! As a new pilot, it sounds like you are telling us, or suggesting, to push down through that pillow of air faster so that we don't get stuck and over control. As you demonstrated what people do, your solution was to push through that with more down collective. At least it sounded that way. It earned me a slap on the wrist from my instructor :)@@HelicopterGround
Well like he was showing when you get close to the ground just be mindful that the helicopter will hit that cushion so dont be surprised. And second just keep lowering collective slowly. Remember you are still flying the helicopter till both skids on the ground and the collective is all the way down at zero percent.

Been there done that!
If I had a pound (UK viewer) for every time I've got to the 6-inch wobble and started the oscillations, I would be able to afford to buy the helicopter...
