When I ran the cycle, I started with 1000ml of water at the "Descaling" line. I ran the cycle and it took me down to 350ml at the "min" line, but didn't use all the water/solution. Did the cycle use the right amount of water/solution?
This process does not work on my Bambino plus even though the instructions mirror what is said here. What worked partially for me was pressing the 2 cup and steam, button for 5 seconds, turning the machine off and then pressing the 1 cup and steam button for 5 seconds.
This is a great video. Only thing I don’t get is how that bowl would be able to fit a whole two liter Mountain Dew in it if it’s supposedly the same size🤔
Shouldn’t you dump the residual descaling solution after the first cycle (there’s quite a bit remaining) so you’re just running fresh water through it on the second cycle?
Hi! Thank you so much for your videos- I have am wondering why my bambino plus won't go into descale mode. I have turned it off and when I hold the 1 cup + steam, it just turns back on, even when I hold for 5 seconds (they won't illuminate at the same time to enter descale). Any tips? Ty!
I was having this same problem. So I tried to do a cleaning cycle instead, and it actually kicked it into the descale mode! Not sure why, but it went through the descaling so I'll take it as a win
Having the same issue (Edit: Initially I had the water at the descale line, and descale wouldn't start. I put slightly more water in the water tank, and the machine went into descale mode)
Any plans on making a review video for this machine? I’d love to see a comparison video for the quality of espresso between the bambino and the express!
You can stop it mid-way, but then the alert will come on the next time you plug in the machine. Only way to get it to turn off is to run the full cycle. It's important for the longevity of your machine.
My Bambino Plus enters descaling mode but nothing comes out of the machine. When it's over, it stays into descaling mode. I've even done a reset of the machne and it comes back to descaling mode.
Are you supposed to fill the water reservoir to the descale like WITH the descale solution? Or are you supposed to fill it to the descale line with water, and. MIX in some solution as well?
The entire descaling only consume about 1/3 of the full tank. I normally fill it with 1/2 tank and adding the descaler solution into it. Once the machine reaches the 1st interval pause, clean up and wash the tank with fresh water and rerun again.
i do it exactly the same.. but the lights still going off and On when i turns on the machine! that’s mean the machine needs to clean! but i just clean it
Hi, thanks for your video. I have done the exact process and bought your recommended descaling solution and my coffee doesn’t taste like coffee anymore. The color is there, the taste is completely different, almost like watery. Is there anything you recommend or have you run into this? I have done various coffees already and no luck. Thanks.
You are demonstrating with a Bambino Plus. The Bambino has only two buttons - not three. Please retitle this video and make a new one for us actual Babino users. Thank you.
This video was created before the base “non-plus” bambino was even released. BETTER idea than demanding I change and remake a 3 year old video. Why don’t you pick up and read the instruction manual? :)
@@LifestyleLab_ Good idea, Lifestyle Lab. When multiple moves resulted in a lost manual, I just said to myself, "No worries. This is just the type of thing that is ripe for a UA-cam demonstration." I still believe this is true, but when the title of the youtube demo (and a very good demo it is!) has the name of my machine, and the video itself is for a different machine, I am disappointed. Yes, users of the Bambino and the Bambino Plus may consult their manuals. But users of either product may not have access to the manual, for whatever reason. You have shown the Bambino Plus users what to do. Some may miss the demo, due to the product name in the title. Others may watch the demo for the same reason, and still not know how to descale their machine. I am in the latter category. I apologize for my failure to make a polite request, and coming on as demanding. If the original Bambino had a name change (adding the Plus) and a subsequent product was given the name of the original, that is certainly no fault of yours.

Hey do you have any tips if your Bambino wont enter into the descaling mode?
That was SO helpful. Short, sweet and to the point. Loved it. Thanks!
Salut à tous 😉
Très intéressant comme explication de maintenance
Good video. Thanks for posting it.

What about for the regular Bambino?

May be it's a newer model but mine doesn't descale if you hold down Single Shot plus Steam. it has to be Double Shot plus Steam.
X2
are you talking about the Cleaning cycle? because this the double shot plus steam for cleaning cycle, not descaling.
Appreciate the video, but how are buttons going to light-up, when you specifically say to do it while the power is still off??
Powered off, not unplugged
The buttons light up when you hold them as described in the video for this process
very good instructions, but my bambino has been paused now for over 5 min and is only halfway through the solution. is it done?
nvmd i read further into replies, thanks for the vid!

Plz can u inform me about the machine 2 light red and Down one
I'm not sure what you're asking, but the user manual probably has your answer
Thanks!
Thank you so much!
Thank you very much 🙏🏻
It started descaling and now the 1 cup and 2 cup buttons are alternating amongst themselves. Did I do something wrong?
I think that means you need to run a cleaning cycle...there is a video for that via the video - clixk the link when it pops up
@@lbojkovska Thanks for the tip, been nine months clean without coffee. Now I can finally drink my morning cup of Joe.

Absolutely! Its in the works as we speak
any way to skip / stop the descaling process ?

There may be a clog in one of the tubes, you will need to contact Breville support
Mine does the same thing, still wait for Breville to reply
Would doing the descale mean that a separate wand cleaner isn’t necessary? Thanks.
Do I need to descale if even if my home uses a water softener system?
Yes you do :)
Are you supposed to fill the water reservoir to the descale like WITH the descale solution? Or are you supposed to fill it to the descale line with water, and. MIX in some solution as well?
Most descaling solutions get diluted. There should be instructions on the bottle. You then fill up to the line with the diluted solution
The entire descaling only consume about 1/3 of the full tank. I normally fill it with 1/2 tank and adding the descaler solution into it. Once the machine reaches the 1st interval pause, clean up and wash the tank with fresh water and rerun again.
Hi I have Sage barista pro
Can I use delonghi descaling solution?
Check the ingredients, but descaling solutions should be basically the same across the market.
@@LifestyleLab_ Thanks for your reply
I will check the ingredients but you’re right I feel it will be same concept
I've had this machine for about 5 months and the descaling lights have never flashed, is this normal?
Its completely dependent on number of shots pulled, not time elapsed. So no, thats not necessarily odd
@@LifestyleLab_ Thank you!
i do it exactly the same.. but the lights still going off and On when i turns on the machine! that’s mean the machine needs to clean! but i just clean it
This is descaling video. Cleaning is different cycle
Can you use vinegar to descale?
No, it is not recommended as it can errode some of the plastic parts
Try using citric acid, as in the baking type. This is the stuff we use and it has a fine result. No after taste.

I think after the 1st cycle you need to empty the water tank and fill it with clean water to avoid this strange taste.
How much descaled do you use
Dilute as necessary for the descaler you're using, and fill the tank up to the line marked "descale"
What do I do if my machine is stuck on descaling mode?
descale it
If its a bad taste run some JIF lemon through the tank , often do this for lavazza to eliminate bad taste.
FYI, this looks like the Bambino Plus, NOT the regular Bambino.
its a 5 dollar cad difference
