I actually have never seen an M5 in either the outer colour scheme , or with the wood trim . Were they not all equipped with an alu-look trim from that year? I have seen the outer colour on some other BMW's but not on any M-series.
I wish they would of told you, you were in 400hp mode, you needed to push the m button or the power button, think about that for a second.... you were impressed with the E60 M5 and left alot on the table.
These are great cars that you can purchase affordably. Just make sure you get them checked out! Potential for value to increase in the future! I enjoy mine!

I didn't get this feeling driving one. It didn't feel scary fast. I think I was spoilt by our drag car. Its a very nice car though. I wanted to drive one mainly for the sound. The v10 sound is addictive.

This is my second one I had a 2006 and now I have a 2009 this car has never let me down People that say m5 are unreliable Guess those people never owned one I changed my exhaust to a eisenman full kit it’s way 2 loud if you’re accelerating and trying to have a conversation in the car it won’t work I’ve had people shout in my car to hear each other it’s a beast you can never get used to 550 hp it will spin you like a bitch 😂 if you don’t have at least 5 years of experience with a let’s say 300 hp min car you won’t be able to drive the m5 and please don’t try to drive in snow it won’t move it will spin the tires and spin and spin but you’re not moving I’m lucky because I live in Hollywood Florida and it’s always hot out here if you need any more info just ask I’ve had m5 for over 10 years now!
Engine problems? I have one and not have any problem with motor, it's my daily drive my only complain about car it's gas it's absolutely normal V10 motor. So far so good

I don't really have a problem with the e60 m5 (besides how shakey it is mechanically) but I think the power button is a gimmick. 400hp when just driving around town but a power button for 507hp and a bunch of transmission settings, why Bmw??? I feel like its unnecessary and a hassle, to use an e60 m5 as a daily driver defeat the purpose of owning one because it is only fun to drive with all the power settings on and annoying to drive in p400 mode just chugging around town. If Bmw wanted this to be an all out performance car then they should of done that instead of trying to pass it off as an luxury car with performance, a luxury car is also smooth and very comfortable to drive at normal speeds, but an e60 is clunky and annoying to drive at normal speeds and is only amazing as a performance car with all the power settings on. So that is my only issues with the e60 m5, its performance is outstanding but its just not the type of car Bmw was promoting it as, a comfortable luxury Gt cruiser.
for one this is not a gt cruizer neither is it in a gt class, it is marketed as a sports saloon and does just that. the original goal of the 1st m5 was to embarrass porche drivers on the way to lunch with 4 people in the car

I already admitted that it is an outstanding performance machine, but if you go search for this car original reviews when it came on the scene, it was promoted as a comfortable luxury sports saloon and not just a high performance highway cruiser, which it is.
this isnt meant to be an all out race car, its meant to be a touring car that can take on supercars(of that time) while seating 4 people comfortably - the reason for the M button is simple... do you need all 500hp around town? it remaps the engine and changes the shift points to be more aggressive and to accelerate its quickest. the time when this came out, this car shifted very fast, and went VERY fast... the M button allows you to tone it back a notch, and save some clutch, brakes, tires, gas, etc... you can leave it in M mode all the time if you wish, but whats wrong with having the option? Almost every single car today has some sort of "Economy" and "Sport" mode, this had it back in 2006, ELEVEN YEARS ago... so for a decade old car, i think it does what its meant to do pretty well, even today.

A touring car doesn't have an average mpg of 11 miles and 8 or 9 miles while in p500 mode. This car was obviously made for all out performance, it was just promoted as a touring car, but ask all owners is it a touring car with performance or a performance car that is horrid to drive as a daily commuter. I'm not denying the impressive performance from the e60 m5 but like I said before, I believe Bmw lied about what this car is, its not a touring car, if it was I believe Bmw wouldn't have given it a smg transmission that was made for HARD shifting, hence why the smg was in the orginal Gallardo's and the e46 m3's. This is all just my opinion or 2 cents.
Talkditings dem The E60 can be driven smoothly without the clunky experience alot of people mention. It just takes time, experience and some smooth throttle control. When I had my e46 with SMG II I thought that was horrible trash till I really figured it out. Now that I have the e60 with SMG III it feels rather natural now.
That was your car you would be pissed and stressed because you were driving like that and it’s very expensive and that was the worst year of any maintenance or anything to do with me that’s on my card for the arm the first year of the EMG transmission clutch the formula 1 question very dirty within three years need to spend at least $1000-$10,000 fixing the transmission for the bushings and that would go at about 6000 miles vehicle will go up in value me to video of him
