The frayed underwear is hilarious. I left my first and only chiropractor for the exact opposite reason. This guy wore a different set of alligator-skin shoes (boots?) every session. Brown, green, even purple! How did I know? Because I had to stick my head thru the hole in the table while he adjusted my back so every week I knew it was a different pair. I figured if my chiropractor could afford 12 pairs of nice shoes, he’s doing better than me. I can’t go to a chiropractor who’s doing better than me. Personal rule. I mean, he’s not even a doctor.

I still remember that experience vividly. Every Christian had brought a Jewish friend and I remembered thinking that it’s equally important for Christians to understand the Old Testament and the Jewish culture as it is for Christians to introduce Jesus. Our barriers are more built from our heritage and traditions than from objective listening. Hilarious episode!

Jews are allowed to do just about anything and still be considered Jewish. Even an atheist Jew is still a Jew. However, in the minds of most Jews, a "Jew for Jesus", or Messianic Jew, is ridiculed in the Jewish faith. It isn't because Jews don't respect Christians. We have contempt for the Messianic Jew. If you believe in "Christ" you are a Christian, by definition. Just become a Christian. Jews do not believe that Christ is the Messiah. Everybody knows that. It is fine to be Christian and it is fine to be Jewish. You just cannot be both in the minds of many. Just pick a side.
