Knowing fully well what caliber dancer Jimin is and seeing him having issues with timing and being on beat was hard to watch...and now knowing it was because his body was failing him takes me back to when I saw this the first time!! You could just feel something was off...
I knew something wasn’t right, and today there are clips of it too...this is the performance where Jimin collapsed as he and Taemin were walking off stage!!

In a short interview, Jimin referred to Taemin as his hyung and that to dance with Taemin is considered a gift to. him. These two are hardcore talented dancers. They shouldn't be compared to each other, they have different styles. Being a dancer, I noticed that Jimin dances with so much emotion and just FLOOOWWWS with the music as he is trained in contemporary dance, while Taemin is precise and powerful. Both are formidable and extraordinary. I bet they were just enjoying the performance, you could see from their smiles.

@Harmon McCraw you should watch some of Jimins solo work. He is a beautiful dancer. Both Taemin and Jimin are top notch, just 2 different styles is all.
You have to keep in mind that Jimin was classically trained in contemporary dance. That in itself
highly impacts all of his work.
Dig into Jimin a little more, you’ll definitely come to appreciate him and his amazing talent.

Honestly I'm an equal opportunist and I feel that they both did very well together. Taemin is of course the eldest and also has been dubbed the best dancer in kpop and for jimin to get that chance is an honor for him and you know he has made his way to the top as well to even dance with taemin. They're both not humans in my opinion and this was absolute perfection I'm not going to say anything else because this just screams masterpiece and that's all that needs to say I'm tired of people taking just one side I mean I know you're a fan of one and probably not the other (technically me aka shawol) 😅 they both did OUTSTANDING.

So I've realised that not many people here know much about Taemin or SHINee so I've decided to help out a bit (no one asked for it, I'm just doing it.
Taemin (Lee Taemin) is the maknae of a group called SHINee who debuted on the 25th of May 2008. Their fandom are called shawols (SHINee's world) and we will be celebrating our 10 year anniversary next year! SOOOO EXCITED! their group means 'the one who recieves light'. They are part of sm ent and one of sm's best performing groups, sales-wise. Their debut song is replay and their latest song is called Tell Me What To Do, which was part of their repackaged album. Within that album you can also find the song 1 of 1 and it is to that remix that Taemin and Jimin dance for in this performance. Taemin's debut solo song is called danger and his latest album had a double title with Press your number (highly recommend this) and Drip Drop (written by Bruno Mars). SHINee and Taemin as a solo artist are also very active in Japan. His latest release is called Flame of Love. It is to the Korean version of Sayanora Hitori that he danced to in Hit The Stage (a phenomenal performance in my opinion) There are 4 other members of SHINee - Key (Kim Kibum), (Kim) Jonghyun, Onew (Lee Jinki) and my bias - Choi Minho. Onew acted in Descendants of the Sun, Key acted in Drinking Solo, Minho was most recently in Hwarang with V, and Jonghyun provided the OST for Oh my Venus (a drama I really enjoyed).
That's an intro to my oppas, this was probs unnecessary but I feel like they are under appreciated these days and feel the need to "show them off" in a sense. Anyway.... Thanks for reading this and have fun discovering SHINee (or 'my happiness' as I like to call them.

I kind of am happy that they are not "perfectly in sync" They are dancing according to their styles, and that makes this such a powerful dance- Taemin's moves are sharp and smooth and powerful, whereas Jimin feels the music and is literally gliding through the dance, and this DOES NOT mean that one is better than the other!!! They are both perfect in their own places, please don't compare them and ruin the beauty that they have created together! Taemin has been around for a long while, and it's obvious that he is an amazing dancer, but that does not undermine Jimin. Jimin's musicality is always on point, that doesn't mean Taemin is not as good. Both are amazing performers, and their performances are equally amazing, so let's enjoy that!!!!!

exactly. i wouldn't want them to change their styles one bit. people are so used to soulless, but in sync kpop dances that some even suggested Jimin tone himself down to be more -in sync- with his partners. they don't understand that the whole beauty of BTS' choreographies are the difference in members' interpretations of it.
Yes I agree!! Taemin debuted when he was 14 (and training years before that)!!! Like yikes he's had about well over 10 years to improve and MASTER his dance skills. It is interesting to see how Jimin and Taemin match up but to compare them would be unfair. I just love seeing the both of them together! From two of my favorite groups!

I hate that some people are comparing Jimin and Taemin. They're both very different dancing wise but they're both great! If you like one more than the other compliment them without saying "I like Taemin better" or "I like Jimin better" it's a COLLAB not a competition.

Now Jimin is in the biggest group in the world being known as one of the best dancers in kpop next to his equally talented band mate Hoseok. Ah. Gotta love karma. This is amazing no matter how many times I watch it. This performance just allows both Taemin and Jimin to showcase their individual talents and dance styles so much. The first few times I watched it I thought one of them was off beat, but when I looked I realized that they were both perfectly matching the beat. In the end it just comes down to a difference in dance style.
They both have such different dance styles, from Taemin's sharp moves to Jimin's fluid moves, and it is interesting to see the differences between them while they are dancing the exact same Choreo. It's also really interesting to see Jimin during the part with 1 of 1 playing doing Taemin's sharp moves and then Taemin doing Jimin's fluid moves when Blood Sweat and Tears is playing.
I think the camera work had a lot to do with it too... it could have been better.. (not that I could have done better) but I think the angles shot from weren't ideal for the choreography.
I think the exact same thing!! At first I thought one of them was dancing out of sync with the beat but they're both using the beats differently. Jimin tends to take advantage of the full length of the beat, taking into account all the eighth and sixteenth notes a single, one second beat consists of, making his dance incredibly impactful. Taemin has sharper moves and tends to strike his moves a little before the actual beat hits, so his dance seems more complex and clear cut. Both of their styles though are absolutely amazing, unique, and very difficult, and this stage always makes me appreciate how much skill they both have :)
When I was watched only the part that they dance together the first time, I felt the same way but at the same time they have different ways to execute a move and once i watching it again it cool that even if you see it it's still amazing to watch it all come together

I am a dancer and I appreciate the fact they don't have the perfect synchronization. I mean you can clearly see that their dancing style is unique, that they put their own personal touch in there and they are not only following the steps

Taemin and Jimin are by far the best dancers respectively ever in k-pop history. The reason there should be no comparison with these two is bcs they have their own unique style of dance but they do it best. Taemin knows how to control almost every tissue in his body to the sound of music, when he dances he doesn't fail to hit every sound and you feel it through his dancing. Jimin however let's the music flow through his body, like getting a role in any movie he get's deep into character which is the emotion and dances like he's telling the story, and you can feel the soul of the music through his dancing. Both styles are indeed hard to do but they do it so effortlessly with countless of practice. When it comes to these two there's really no comparison, you either prefer one over the other with your preferred style of taste, overall they're 2 Legends who're top tier and versatile.
But Taemin also gets deep into character when he is dancing. He has created entire personalities for each of his concepts. You can see in music show fancams when he switches in and out of performance mode, the expression in his eyes changes and he is a completely different person.

And I love that smile they gave each other. The power of friendship and true passion for their own style makes this collaboration a perfect one.
If they have the exact same style in dancing, they would look like back up dancers.. but this is Taemin, sharp, sleek, silky... and Jimin is powerful, theatrical, he switches his moves from slow to fast... both have great facial expressions and stage presence..
They will be worth every penny to watch in a concert.

Ya can’t compare the two. They both grew up learning different styles of dance so of course their styles are going to different therefore making it hard to judge between the two. Taemin is sharp and his moves look effortless while Jimin has smooth, flowy but powerful moves. I enjoyed seeing this friend interaction and their cute little smiles when they look at each other :)

Maybe because this year is their 9th year together as a group, it's been a long time but Taemin is still young, the same age as Suga. Most people are focused on newer groups and SHINee likes to different styles of music that the public might not always like. For dramas you may have heard of Minho he's in Hwarang, Onew was in Descendants of the Sun, Key was in Drinking Solo. For MV's I like Sherlock, Married to the Music, View, Everybody, iconic debut Replay, Tell Me What to Do, Winter Wonderland (japanese mv showing off vocals). SHINee's live performances are great too
taecake they all debuted very early so they're still young. Taemin was only 14 T-T BY THE WAY if you didnt start getting into kpop by listening to ringdingdong or lucifer by shinee something is wrong lol. Those eras were wild. I recommend View, 1of1 and Married to the Music music videos.
