- This is my performance of Francisco Tarrega's Lagrima, a Spanish Romantic piece in E major and E minor. This is a very famous miniature piece by the composer known as the father of the modern classical guitar. It is an intermediate piece at around grade 5 level. I really enjoyed playing it and recording it.
This video was recorded recently at Rokit Studios in West London. The recording and video engineering was done by Mark Rose. The guitar I used in the video was made by a local guitar maker who is a personal friend of mine named John Beacock. He only made a limited number of guitars in his lifetime so his guitars are extremely rare, however he had a natural touch and his guitars have incredible clarity and sustain, and sing like a bird. The guitar was made in 2001 and has been recently restored as it sustained a lot of damage over many years of use in studies and for work from 2001 - 2012. The restoration was done superbly by Mike Walker who has now become a friend and my guitar tech.

Great stuff dude 😊
Cheers Man
Even a simple and quite easy piece, when played with sensitivity, is magnificent.
Agreed! That’s the beauty of the Classical guitar
That's fine, but you have to know that not everything is Speed. And even less so in a work of these characteristics by Francisco Tarrega. Tear represents hope along with, above all, the sadness of the soul and expressing it in this very fast way (In a hurry). It's very cold for a romantic like Tarrega was.
That's exactly what I was thinking, also. It was beautifully played, but felt very "rushed."
It’s beautiful how music can be interpreted and played in different ways and can have different effect on people’s feelings. That’s the magic of it. ❤ we can all feel what we feel…..
Good stuff Pete!
Many thanks for saying that! Glad you enjoyed it ❤️
