It sounds like you enjoyed playing around with the AI, so I thought I’d toss in a little context and some tips. (Just a heads up, though: I’m a layperson and don’t know all the minute details about how AI works - these are just based off of what I know) 1. ChatGPT is an LLM (Large Language Model) - long explaination, which I’m shakey on the finer details, is that the AI is a more-or-less a black box that breaks down the input into small bite-sized pieces, assigns values to those pieces, does a punch of calculation, converts those results back to its own small pieces, and than combines them all back into its output/response. All that to say, it’s really good at reading plain-text inputs and giving responses in plain-text that sound perfect, or at least reasonable, it doesn’t guarantee a perfectly logical response - it’s giving a response that it believes to be the best one given the input (and plus or a minus a little randomness). I only say all this because I saw you assigning logic to the AI’s choices after the fact, which could end up lining-up nicely, but would likely not reflect reality. Plus, it’s an ongoing issue with LLMs to “hallucinate” facts in the responses - that is, present responses that it believes are correct, but are factually incorrect. 2. It may take some reminders now and then (AIs still have rather limited short-term memory), but it might be able to provide better explainations of its choices if you start the conversation with context for what you’re doing and asking its help on. Something like, “I’m playing Vampire Survivors and would like your help making a build as I play”; something like that should help it narrow down its body of knowledge and give more applicable responses. If something is too recent (as in, it wasn’t in the AI’s training data), it may not know what your talking about, but I think VS has been around long enough that it should know about it.
Yeah that makes sense, also just a question from someone who's interested in that field and is very much new to it. Is the basic frameworks of ChatGPT built on Neural Networks through nodes, with their weights and activation function values? Moreover, despite not being able to explain why it gave its choice on different weapons but was unable to do so for Megatalio Right and Megatalio Left. What is your opinion on this?
@@Arcticanine To my knowledge, yes LLMs are neural networks. The input text is broken down into tokens (smaller, bite-sized pieces such as individual characters or small strings of characters), those tokens are assigned values, then the AI does calculations using those values. Again, I’m not super familiar with all the nuts and bolts of how it works, but it’s something like, “Okay, given this input, I should start my output with this token, then my calculations tell me that this token comes next, then the next token should be this one…” and so on until it’s finished formulating it’s response, then it combines all the output tokens into a single string of text, then sends that string back as its response. As for your other question, there could be a couple of reasons. As I touched on, the AI probably didn’t understand the context of what Dex was talking about and was tapping into its broader knowledge in order to make selections from what he was offering - without rewatching the video and reading ChatGPT’s full response, an example that pops to mind was when it chose Laurel and then started going into the history of laurel symbolism and association, rather than how laurel would work specifically in a VS build. But with Metaglio seeming to not be a real word (at least according to a steam discussion), coupled with ChatGPT’s knowledge being restricted to its training data (which may not include the most recent current events or concepts), being presented with “Choose Metaglio Left or Metaglio Right”, it got confused and was like “I don’t know what those things are”.
you might as well rolled dice and called it an ai for this run XD Chatgpt works way better if you front load the conversation explaining the game and give more details and what you expect from it. Also doing things like add the little blurb on all the power ups each time a new one pops up, otherwise it just guesses what it does by name and makes things up.

I have an idea for a challenge for Dex, use the Krocchi Freeto and cross only as a weapon in Green Acres stage(can evolve), BUT the twist here is, you can only move to 1 direction forever
I think you can feed the AI all the Vampire Survivors knowledge and then you can make it output the most optimized challenge or the most difficult challenge, etc.
Next time, paste pages from the VS wiki into GPT beforehand and then ask it to refer to that information to make its choices for you. It will make actual decisions based on what we know of the game that way.
The funny thing is many of its decisions were accidentally good for strong runs. Random has scaling cooldown, the first 4 items it took weren't stage items which lets it pick up more items in all, the early Attractorb is convenient, Laurel makes it ultimately invincible. This is pretty much a normal Limit Break run for how I do them.

When talking to AI I sometimes limit how many words it is allowed to use to a small number like 20 or 30. AIs tend to ramble way too long if you don't tell it to give you a direct answer.
Instead of choosing random stuff I'd suggest giving AI the context of your inquiry and a goal, such as "create a build in Vampire Survivors, starting with Out of Bounds arcane and use other arcanes, accessories and weapons so that everything synergizes the Out of Bouds arcane's effects to the maximum". At least it's how I use it. Maybe you know the game mechanics too well which makes it to boring to ask AI to tell you what you already know
You should do a random character via chat gpt with a 30 min map and a random starting arcana then always choose the first option (even future arcanas) and see what you end up with.
