Ronaldo was an anomaly. I think that's partly the reason why his body broke down on him. You're not suppose to be that strong, that fast, and that technical. I don't think his knees were able to support that kind of pressure.
It's amazing how much control he had at those insane speeds he liked to play at. Also if you didn't know which was his dominant foot you'd be hard pressed to find out as his weaker left foot scored some screamers in his day. Just overall the perfect striker! Ive wittnessed Prime Ronaldinho, Messi, CR7 and Kaka but these few seasons of Prime R9 were by far the most unreal seasons Ive seen from a single player. Only Kaka ever came close to this guys speed, he literally ran through defenders.

llavero5 dont think its true tbh, more like he has to adapt to a much tough defenders in a prime serie A, were strikers had to build fast and strong despite his talent, thats more like after 98 wc, he doesnt rest much to arrive in italy and has a minor injury due to fatigue and carry on in season 99, similar happen with other great strikers at that time like batistuta, salas, bergkamp. Just look clips for that matches, they have to face guys like maldini, nesta, stam, montero, gatusso, cannavaro etc

Before that, he wasn’t really a number nine. He started abs finished all of his goals. For as good as Iniesta was, he would have been close to Messi if he had decent pace. Ronaldo post knee injuries was a normal great player; the Ronaldo pre-injuries can only be compared to Pelé, Maradona, and maybe Messi. He was that good.
