- Wanted to hide my MP3 player - not so much for security, but for the looks. I wanted to keep the original AM radio, but now have FM and all the tunes I like best. Dash appears STOCK!

It was pretty simple. I took a second factory ashtray and welded it to the first one - making it twice as long as I needed the extra depth to put the MP3 player in there - since it is on a hinge - the lower part of the hinge is kinda wasted space since that has to get it above the height of the cover. - I use velcro to hold it down when not in use. I then bought a 9 dollar 12 volt mp3 amp off Ebay . - actually any "line level" amp would work. I might have some better pics - I'll look...
This is exactly what I want to do on my 1964 Corvair! Can you explain a little bit more how you did it? How did you get the MP3 player hooked up to the stereo?
