Really would be interested in hearing someone come on to discuss the ecological approach with you guys, hope yous can line that up. Anyway, good episode keep them coming!
Just realised why Kieran looks so familiar. I was at a comp at Sydney olympic park to support some friends and he gave my mate the gi he was wearing so that he could compete since his (my mate) gi had blood on it. Overall great bloke keep up the good work 💪
Hahaha, I'll never forget this! They were going to DQ him over a tiny bit of blood, such a stitch up. But I did laugh out loud when he said to the ref "nah it's just poweraide" 🤣🤣
Daaang, just saw you had this video after watching your last podcast on ecological approach. Kinda surprising to see you didn't at least look into the criticism in the comments and do some more research into it or talk to Greg Souders for clarification
Yeah I mean I read the comments, I also read the comments on other similar podcast episodes or videos talking about the same thing. One thing I noticed is there is a small group of people who float around to every video on youtube talking about ecological teaching for jiujitsu saying the same things over and over, it seems like a cult at this stage. And we have been approached by Greg and are in talks of scheduling a public debate via the podcast platform.
I think there may be more common ground beyond 'specific training' (not sure exaclty what that is though) and an ecological dynamics approach. Some of your concerns are valid but without an understanding of the underpinnings of the approach they are probably over blown. Its no more dangerous than the traditional approach. Injuries are primarily gym culture issues. There will however be an increased risk of injury due to the volume of live unprescriped work. To borrow your analogy about culinary school. They ecological approach wants you to learn how to cook. Not know a bunch of recipes. Happy to discuss. Have my own gym and podcast about the approach. Not interested in mud slinging. Always interested in productive conversations and pressure testing my own ideas. All the best
I've seen your comments posted on nearly every video talking about the ecological teaching approach. You must have a Google alert on it or something. 🤣

Agree. We've been running it in our gym for the last 2 months or so and Holy cow has it made a difference.

Great podcast Gents, Adam's deep fried sorbet analogy took the analogies to a new level 👏😂
