- National Sanuki Manno Park is the only national park in Shikoku and is located northeast of Mannoike, one of the largest reservoirs in Japan. Visitors can enjoy the spectacular view of the vast flower garden, one of the largest in Shikoku, with tulips, nemophilas, hydrangeas, kochia, sunflower, cosmos, and other flowers in every season, and beautiful flowers greet visitors any time of the year.
At "National Sanuki Manno Park," 70,000 sunflowers of about 10 varieties bloom from late July to mid-August, the height of the summer season. Also, from late July to late August, visitors can enjoy the fresh greenery of approximately 6,000 kochia trees.

The sunflower originates from Texas and California in North America and is said to have entered Japan in 1666 during the early Edo period. Although there is variation among varieties, it grows up to about 3 m in height and produces fairly large yellow flowers from summer to fall. However, although the petals of the sunflower look like one large flower, in reality, many flowers are clustered together to form a single flower shape.
The Japanese name "sunflower" comes from the fact that the flower rotates as if following the direction of the sun, but the flower actually follows the sun only when it is young and actively growing. It is said that there are about 60 varieties of sunflowers in the wild alone, and in recent years, breeding efforts have produced smaller varieties that are easier to grow.

Kochia is also known by the Japanese names "bokigi-gi" and "boki-gusa," and its name comes from the fact that its branches were bundled together and used for brooms. Seeds are sown in the spring and grow to a height of 50 to 70 cm in the summer, and their round green leaves sway in the wind like small animals.
The kochia's fluffy, fluffy shape is popular, and 6,000 kochia trees are grown in Sanuki Manno Park. The "Flower Tour Hill" in the northern part of the park is covered with green kochia in summer, and from early to mid-August, the kochia are lit up at night. Visitors can enjoy the fantastic kochia and light art while taking in the cool summer air.

@@HealingJapanTV it’s so hot this year. In Thailand summer starts from end of February. Terrible! Love all your clips. I’m watching back to mid of your lists, just to feel happiness of Japan. Pity I won’t make it to visit this November as planned as I just had a car accident 2 days ago and will have to use my saving to for repairing the car 😢 Japan is still in my dream…in the mean time your clips will help soothing my broken heart ❤️
