Their love story is purer than anything. Yan da is my favorite female lead in this drama. In facts all the females characters in this drama is my favorite. They weren't unlike any typical females characters in most wuxia drama. They females characters in this drama all have strong character. This included the flowers fairy (I forget her name). Even mermaid princess (Lan Shang) also consider a strong female character. She tried to help her loved as much as she can and avoid any unnecessary trouble. She was shown as fragile character in early episode and as the drama develop, she tried to be better. As for other female like Luoluo and Yan da, the early episode, they shown us a strong women, a fighter and till the drama develop, they became stronger fighters to protect their loved one. Anyway I always like Yan da, I really wish that Ying kongshi would show her some love too. But maybe because the grudge he hold toward her tribe are stronger than that, that he still ignore his own feelings toward her even in other life.
At first it's really hard to distinguished the feeling of Shi to Yanda, if it is love or just feeling guilt , but when Shi ordered someone to to look out for Yanda in that chaotic battle, I know he lost it. He really love her.
You mean when he sent a message to Yan Da through Xing Gui? He knew that when Xing Gui passes this message to Yan Da on the battlefield no one will harm Yan Da, because he didn't want her hurt. But I already got the hint before when he fought with the sword so it wouldn't harm Yan Da. He was possesed by sword fairies and when that happens you just can't think clearly. When it happened to Ka Suo, nothing could calm him besides seeing Li Luo or Shi. He was even ready to harm children under their influence. So when Shi got back to normal because of Yan Da's voice, i knew she's important in his heart.

Better late than never. Imagine if the directors and writers decided not to include the confession at all... I’m just so grateful for the fact that Shi finally admitted it even though we all knew it anyway.
Mia The Army How can you not fall for a woman like Yan Da? xD She's strong in every aspect, smart, brave, warm, loving, beautiful and cute. She knows what she wants and pursues it stubbornly. I hate her family for not appreciating her just because she was a woman. And then Shi never gave her the love that she deserved. Her death will make me cry forever. Shi at least had a loving mother and brother, then he had Yan Da's love but she was always alone, she died not even knowing if anyone loved her at all ;( I'm so mad when I think about it.

I feel the same. Her character was mistreated badly by the director of IF. At the end of IFD Li Luo's reincarnation says she will look pretty now and count Feng Suo's money. Okay, they got their happy lame ending I suppose. But Shi is alone and he lost Yan Da, no one even knows about his feelings. And he suppose to be happy cause his brother is happy. I can see he's not. His brother is again clueless about everything.

So she didn't said anything about making a surprise, it was made up by someone acting like her 🙄 I was always hopeful about the ending, because Shi is alive and met Xian Xue. He won't give up on Yan Da like he never gave up on his brother, because he loves them. Destiny or whatever won't stop him from trying.
It was a nice touch to this drama. Usually brothers would back stab each other for the throne or for the girl. This brotherly love was refreshing. Ka Suo also loved Shi more than Li Luo. They were raised together so they should care about each other more rather than for a girl that they just met. I don't get why in most dramas guys care about their own dicks more rather than family members.

He even betrayed his beloved mother just for his brother that aren't related by blood. I read in one blog, just few paragraphs about this drama that was actually adapted from a novel, it stated that Yin kongshi love for his brother is more than just a kin. But I couldn't read the novel finish because it very hard to find one in online. Anyone know please share. One of my favorite drama though.

You should be a man of your word. In the book he was gay for Ka Suo and acted psychotic, he raped and killed Lan Shang. He killed Li Luo. In the drama he's much more likeable. They created Yan Da as his love interest. She wasn't in the book. As for his mom, I don't think he betrayed her, he wanted to help her until the end. Her own actions just made him loose respect for her and they weren't so close anymore. Ice Fantasy still no. 1 drama for me.

As for Yan Da's death, Ying Kong Shi most likely won't give up on her like he never gave up on his brother. He is very dedicated to people he loves. Lan Shang is not on that list though. She never did anything for him, why should he love her?
