1:07:35 this is the second time I've heard David make the claim that Solana was built with a "profit maxi" intention. His view is that ETH is the only legitimate L1 and anything built to be more scalable should be built as an ETH L2. Dude, the whole motivation for building Solana is the view that ETH is architecturally flawed in that sharding is too difficult of a problem to solve/implement and introduces too many security risks for censorship resistance. Rather than trying to solve a difficult computer science problem, you can achieve scalability by optimizing how a blockchain runs on hardware. Solana was built because they disagree with sharding as a solution. Honestly I don't think David understands anything about Solana and just likes to shout "centralized!" because of the VC money that's backed Solana. Never heard him talk about Solana at a deeper level than that.

High fees on L1 misses the point, day to day users will all be on L2, this has always been how eth will scale, even though L1 will also scale more with sharding, but L2 is the endgame. It’s the only blockchain that has a solution to the trilema and due to its decentralization the only chain primed for global adoption as its a neutral space not subject to geopolitics
What if some better chain comes out in future, more technically advanced, more decentralized? Technology changes very fast. To say ETH is end game for all is incorrect. Maybe winner does not exist yet. Also 2600 Nodes of Ethereum or 1200 nodes of BTC are not true decentralization. Any state can bring it down in a whim. We are far from perfect but I hate these ETH and BTC maxis or any maxi.

decentralization has never worked in history. We have always found out a central source is far easier to manage and hold accountable in case something goes wrong. Crypto is all about scamming those who don't understand it, you will never be able to stop that unless it becomes centralized.
