@@Sarah-psalm127 meanwhile i gave birth to my son, i was induced and took me 36hrs and had to be on my back bc in all kinds of other positions his heartbeat got in stress. As you said, it depends and sometimes is the way to go 🙌🏻
I'm almost 67 and all 4 of my kids are in their 40s. After a nightmare birth in the hospital where my husband was not allowed to be with me, I had the last 3 naturally at home with a midwife from The Farm in Tennessee. My second child was 10 lbs 4 oz and even with scar tissue from the first birth, I didn't need an episiotomy. I love how the fathers are so involved in this compilation video.
I unintentionally had my second baby at home as a precipitous VBAC. Scary situation, but worked out. 38 weeks tomorrow with third baby and hoping this one goes smoothly without any chaos lol. Contractions all day today, hoping it's the real deal or at least this week, momma's done lol.
I’m 54 and it’s been 30 years since I had my second and last baby. But every single time I witness a birth video it completely moves me. The strength of women and their bodies is amazing. 😊
I'm 19 weeks with my first child today and seeing this just set off the waterworks - doesn't help that bub started kicking while I was watching this either. It's funny how I've grown up thinking that birth is such a scary thing (thank you, Hollywood), but watching these types of videos (and especially since becoming pregnant myself), I don't fear it anymore. Maybe because I've had such a rough pregnancy so far, but I actually look forward to the birth. I can't wait to meet this little guy in person in a couple of months - no longer being pregnant will be a very welcome bonus as well.
Congrats on the pregnancy! For me the first 20 and the last four weeks are the hardest. I’m always super excited to be done with pregnancy! The labor and birth is the best part of a baby!! I just had my 4th, and she was my hardest.
OKAY, I HAVE TO SAY THIS: The Birthstool at @4:35 in the video is a picture of the EXACT birthstool I made for my wife. (I even checked the pictures of it to make sure). I made three of them, just like that one, and sold them all -- one of them I know was taken to Canada, others sold in Montana. I had them listed on Craigslist for a long time before they sold. I'm just wondering how the picture of my birthstool ended up there!😀 In fact, I have that EXACT original picture, taken on 4/20/2009.
I even found the text of my Craiglist listing: A birthing stool is a stool which has been specifically designed for use during childbirth. Women were attended (in their homes) by midwives and female relatives, and sat on birthing stools for the delivery. It allows a woman to sit or squat while giving birth with support to help her if she begins to feel fatigued. Many advocates of natural birth support the use of a birthing stool, which may also be called a birth support stool or a birth stool. This birthing stool was modified from a solid-oak bar stool, and my wife labored on one just like this with our first child. We have [sic] a wonderfully-successful homebirth! The chair measures 20 in. (width) x 20 in. (depth) x 29 in. (height) and was finished with a low-VOC finish (very low in harmful vapors and safe for birthing on).
My youngest 3 (of 6) were home births on the floor on my knees leaning against the couch or bed. All super quick between 3 to 7 mins after waters breaking. So empowering
I'm 34 weeks and this made me ball like a baby. I cannot wait to meet my baby. These were beautiful birthing videos. This is my second amd i am praying for a beautiful birth like these this time.
This is my 4th baby. And my 3rd home birth. My last to came before my Midwife could get there. My Midwife said this one could come even quicker because it's my 4th😂. I pray it quick smooth and very easy. ❤
It was pretty hard to watch because I felt those emotions that those ladies were going through as if I was one of them. Tears of genuine happiness are the most precious ❤couldn’t keep mine
I love how you said that “Tears of genuine happiness are the most precious and o couldn’t keep mine 🥰) I 💯 agree…. I can’t help but cry with happiness watching babies be born! It’s so incredible ✨
Watching these videos give me a since of I can do it because I’m 20 weeks pregnant with my first baby and I’ve been scared of birth way before I ever thought I would be a mom ❤
If you are scared, read Ina May Gaskins books on birth....so empowering. I was more scared after my first birth that I would have to go through the pain again. Ina May walks you through thinking of the contractions as waves and being open to let baby out. I am pregnant with my 9th. Some of mine have been like these videos...one I caught over the toilet. I have assisted first time moms with peaceful deliveries. You can do it. Make sure you have good support people.
I think us women are amazing. What we go through to bring life into the world. After my last baby it broke my pubic bones and i now have pubic symphosis diaphysis. Its extremely uncommon so please new mothers don't think this will happen to you but even though i have a permanent disability i don't care having my babies was worth it. It's amazing what we will go through for our babies
I love your videos. Maybe to add to your knowledge , number 4 birth, the rope is very important in my culture the Akamba of Kenya. Traditionally a woman was placed in a birthing hut which had the rope 'mukwa' at the middle, healing wood burning (woods that are medicinal) warm water, and a hole on the ground to mimic a toilet. This rope is so important that it's the major bridal dowry that is not even negotiable and please note,it's not bride price,it's appreciation towards the mother of the bride and in most cases there's no amount attached to it,it's left to the groom to give what they can,the key reminder being to recognize the one labor that no one else could undertake. It amazes me to see such ropes being used and just how similar cultures are across nations.
So amazing that some people will tell you that after you give birth you will forget all that pain. Maybe some women do but as a 78 year old Mom of three and now a great grandma of my first great I can say I remember every birth and did not forget the pain of child birth.
I don’t trust the human body .. too many things can go wrong .. 😑.. plus we don’t have the option for epidurals here so I rather freak out in the hospital with a doc around than at home…. This is just me though… it is common for the Amerindian/women here who live in the Amazon to give birth squatting in the bush alone… props to all who give birth at home.
I stopped on no 5, it's just crazy nd nonsense, her partner prefering to film her instead of supporting by hsr side and the daughter in the house....I hate such nonsens . By the way this kinds of delivery expose you for more tearing.
I want a baby some day and I love watching videos like this. I even decided on names. If it’s a girl, I’ll name her Kiara, if it’s a boy, he’ll be named Darius
@@ryanwest6013 then do you think woman's body is programmed to perform a child birth only with an assistance and not the other way around? Do you think woman's birthing system is designed with a tendency to failure? In my country I have heard a lot of news about new born baby being disposed in various kind of places(toilet, garbage area, bush area etc). The death number of unwanted new born baby is huge(in thousands) but never once i heard about their mom found dead bcus of birth complication. Care to explain.
In some countries it's still considered "normal" to birth at home. I would never chose to birth at a hospital by choice, unless there is a known condition/risk which would make it necessary. At home I feel so much more safe and empowered in stead of being ordered around and on my back...
You might be surprised to know that new studies are showing that home birth actually corresponds with less complications for low risk mothers who use trained midwives when compared to hospital births.
I’ve had 3 precipitous vbacs. My 2nd child was 3 hours, my 3rd was 1 hour, my 4th was 40 min (so that ended up being accidental unassisted cuz my MW was 40-45 min away).
Wow, we forget how strong our bodies are and how little assistance we actually need. The Partners were also reallly sweet here!

None of them were on their backs ❤
Yes, that's it 🙌
I've preferred labor on my back before. It all depends. I've had babies other ways but sometimes the back is just the way to go.

Most native American women know that squatting is the best position for child birth, and much less painful

😭 Wow-new life is so incredible! Thank You God for making our bodies in such a way that we can do this!
It really is so incredible!!💞💞
Hii
One thing they all have in common: They trusted their bodies/let their bodies birth the baby
Absolutely they all did ❤️❤️✨✨
I love how positive you are about this whole topic
The thing they all had in common is they gave birth in their own way and not the “traditional” way.

I’m terrified the first woman would be in serious danger in a car accident
I was thinking that as well. I'm glad they're all okay but that looked really dangerous.
Wow! Incredible!! Thank you for sharing all of these videos!!! Amazing Mamas indeed 💪 ❤️❤️❤️
So glad you enjoyed! I found them all so inspiring💞
I notice that most of these were 4/5/6/7/8th children so this sort of birth might be less easy for a first time mom
Less easy maybe not unduable!
They all have in common that it’s not the first baby.

Wow, so strong!❤
Omg #5 looks so difficult standing and giving birth
I think the common theme is that they were all giving birth in positions where gravity was helping their body progress and eject the baby!
How lucky they all r..in my case both time lack of cervical dilation so I go through with c section
Much love
You are lucky too
Some don’t make it out alive

@@Kawaga-uc4qq they did it because they had to and sadly lost a percentage of the babies and the mothers. They didn't have a choice, we do.
