I am literally speechless. My mouth dropped open the instant you started playing. Speechless. An immediate favorite for me! Thanks for a mind-blowing cover :)
i think your style of playing is awesome and is the reason i started playing guitar, and seein guys like you play keeps me wanting to progress, so one day i can play like you do, swesome job on all your songs
Yes, it scuffs and scratches the body, particularly on satin finish. On a heavy gloss it doesn't seem to hurt. Doesn't affect the sound in either case.
I call it battle scars ;) The satin finish on the Maton has worn off in certain areas, but when I play it on the gloss finish on the Yamaha, not a scratch in sight. JAW
Thanks, and I'm glad I have been of some encouragement. Keep at it; it's hard work learning the guitar but like all things if you put in the effort you'll reap the rewards. ~~~~JAW
I might have been able to watch and copy your version of Here Comes The Sun but this is going to be a tad bit more difficult. Nice Job with the slapping. An acoustic Flea, :) Man you are something else.
Based on Chapdelaines version; search for "come together chapdelaine". I tabbed it out myself, changed it in many places though. I didn't discuss it in the description this time, erm, for reasons ;) Glad you liked it though, thanks, ~~~~JAW
@coralnerd Yes i think fingerstyle called fingerpicking as well ! and that means you play bass line chords and the melody all at the same time wich means you don't need to any additional instrument in order to make the sound good ! thanks man
I did one about a year ago and was asked to remove it. Unfortunately I forgot to back it up...so unless someone on the internet took a copy it's lost forever. Maybe google around for it. One day I may do another lesson for this - it is a lot of fun to play ;)
Hey don't hate on classical guitar nails! They do the job more than well :). I use my nails for steel string guitars... but there are something you have to make sure of first. Make sure your string tension is relatively low. Make sure your nails are smooth so they dont get caught on an edge. Make sure your angle of attack promotes smooth gliding. Great playing man.
It's all true. In fact, I had a video of me playing this (poorly) about a year before I reposted this one, which was up several months before Sunghas version appears. I also had a video tutorial of it on youtube before I was asked to remove it by somebody I respected. Sungha is great, but I he isn't offering the tabs ;) I'll update the description eh! Thanks Proe
No worries, I didn't have a very good camera in those days. I still don't have an amazing camera, but it is better that the one I used then :) Thanks, JAW
In fact, Michael Chapdelaine arranged it, I transcribed it a year or two later, Sungha played it a year or two after that. They both play it better than me though :)
Awesome! I blows my mind you you can get so many parts out of one guitar. Are you playing in standard tuning? It looks like you're somehow playing a shuffle rhythm on the open fifth and sixth strings? I can't figure it out.
Unless John Lennon has a go at me, I figure just playing his song is fair game :) I've just noticed I was playing the finger tapping part wrong, I was missing a beat - should be 4 evenly spaced taps. I'm putting it down to being sick at the time. It is great fun Pascal, give it a try, you always look too serious when you play! ;)
@Girlpump35 You don't *need* to have long nails, you can have them short. I prefer nails myself. There is another thing which I've tried, Alaska Piks. You can have a fairly short nail and they go over and under your nail. They are pretty good, I still prefer natural nails, but I reckon once you were used to them they'd be great. Good luck!
@UnitedEffect Ha, yeah, sometimes I do but I find them incredibly frustrating..."it's the right thing to do" but it just isn't fun. I only have time for fun :) JAW
@realjuvelive Don't worry about the hate crowd man... Fingerstyle means using the fingers of your right hand to pluck the strings, rather than using a pick. Usually the the thumb handles the bass notes while the fingers pick the higher notes.
this man is the original... but sungha jung's arranger made some changes on this tab to make it perfect... this man is the original based on date that it was uploaded...
Nup, but I keep my fingernails a bit long. On steel string the wear down pretty quick, but on nylon I have to keep cutting them to keep them at a not-totally-girly length! ;)
If you CAN find time to get used to it you will definately have fun once it's taken away again. It's not about playing in "metronomic time", it's about assimilating the pulse and then playing around with it...pushing and pulling the rhythm at will. Either way keep on pickin' n grinnin'... :o)
Pretty decent man! One friendly suggestion...practice with a metronome or drum machine...it's worth the effort..after awhile you'll be smokin' in the pocket.Cheers.
it is the same like the version of michael hedges. it sounds very good but make your own thing. it is terrible when people cover songs of great musician at 1 on 1. but in fact: PERFECT!
I love playing on nails, in fact I can't play otherwise! I broke a nail the other day, boo hoo, won't be playing for at least a week. Fortunately my nails are strong so they don't break often, and wear down only slowly. Since going back to nylon it is much easier on them. Long live fingernail guitar playing! JAW
Yep, practise nice and slow. Boom Boom (a-m-i-a)click click click click - (triplets, finger-thumb-finger-thumb-finger-thumb-finger-thumb-finger-thumb)bah de dum bah de dum bah de dum bah. JAW

'Come Together...' Wow! Great!
This is about THE COOLEST THING I've ever seen and heard
Good job! And I want to thank you for your tabs. They have been a big help to me.
WOW! Awesome! Brow, i saw the Michael Chapdelaine's version and you did it very similar! Good Job!
WOW! man, this is fabulous, you rock!!!

Great cover man!! Compliments for your acoustic version, it's very original... Nico :o
thisis really good man should tab out while my guitar gently weeps cuz everyone else who plays it wont share
Thanks, and I'm glad I have been of some encouragement. Keep at it; it's hard work learning the guitar but like all things if you put in the effort you'll reap the rewards. ~~~~JAW

Hey J,

JAW
@JuanBautista12 In fact Sungha and I both got it from Michael Chapdelaine. If you want to hear this version*rock*, search for his version :)
Gooooood ! Do you play with an open tuning ? Which one ?
Buena interpretacion, es un tema dificil para tocarlo solo, felicitaciones
Amazing playing! 5 stars! But does tapping damage your guitar? I mean does it affect the sound later on?
this rocks
so nice
In fact, Michael Chapdelaine arranged it, I transcribed it a year or two later, Sungha played it a year or two after that. They both play it better than me though :)

Great version man. Do you have the tab for it or did you learn it from someone else?
Thanks for covering a great tune.
Regards
Ken.
excellent cover,do you use anything on your fingertips for picking?
Unless John Lennon has a go at me, I figure just playing his song is fair game :)
I've just noticed I was playing the finger tapping part wrong, I was missing a beat - should be 4 evenly spaced taps. I'm putting it down to being sick at the time.
It is great fun Pascal, give it a try, you always look too serious when you play! ;)
love you passion
heh, yeah, Hotel California indeed ;)
I hope you get some enjoyment out of the tabs - good learning to you! ~~~~JAW

Very fuckin' well done!

Dropped D - that's the trick ;)
JAW

Hola crees que me puedas pasar las partituras de de la canción
@rughekhhi this video was put up before sungha jung
ducaralho...
nice job
this guy sounds like Sungha Jung's cover, it's great both of you are, but for Sungha Jung's age it's pretty good... both of you rock! keep rckin'!
Nup, but I keep my fingernails a bit long. On steel string the wear down pretty quick, but on nylon I have to keep cutting them to keep them at a not-totally-girly length! ;)
@SolomonGuitarify anyway fingerstyle means you play chords and melody at the same time ! and maybe doing some kind of rhythm
can you send me the tabs pleaseeeee?????
please send me the tabs!!!!!!!!
@SolomonGuitarify by the way drum's sound ?:)
casi tan brillane como shunga jung
If you CAN find time to get used to it you will definately have fun once it's taken away again. It's not about playing in "metronomic time", it's about assimilating the pulse and then playing around with it...pushing and pulling the rhythm at will. Either way keep on pickin' n grinnin'... :o)
hello,any tips on the intro?
read description
now that is a thing
its exactly like sungha jung!!!
ima guess u got that technique from sunga juhn?
Pretty decent man! One friendly suggestion...practice with a metronome or drum machine...it's worth the effort..after awhile you'll be smokin' in the pocket.Cheers.
it is the same like the version of michael hedges. it sounds very good but make your own thing. it is terrible when people cover songs of great musician at 1 on 1. but in fact: PERFECT!
Well in fact we both copied Michael Chapdelaine, but I beat Sungha to it - check the video upload dates ;)
Usual place ? =)
do u have tabs??!?
tab?
Sungha and I have both copied Michael Chapdelaine.
Talented kid Sungha, no doubt.
JAW

you could probably state your opinion without insulting the guy, who is btw very talented...
Yep, practise nice and slow. Boom Boom (a-m-i-a)click click click click - (triplets, finger-thumb-finger-thumb-finger-thumb-finger-thumb-finger-thumb)bah de dum bah de dum bah de dum bah.
JAW
In fact, it's exactly like Michael Chapdelaine - we both copied him ;)
What's your tuning?
BOO
Can't do the Tick of Chapdelaine??
it sounded good but the solo sounded empty it was no edgar cruz
fingerstyle ? can you tell me what this word means ?
I worked it out myself.
Just Drop D in fact.
Usual place.
gee, what a wonderful way to ruin the guitar (Mike's guilty!!!) sounds great btw. Taylor? ;o)
lol
Work on the timing, especially with the hitting of the "drums" lol
great job tho :)
