Everyone ignores the fact that the 3.6L V6 used by GM in so many models in recent years, is the most unreliable V6 engine that the car maker has ever used! Kept waiting for a dealership to get one in that I could test drive. In over a year; not a single GS came to any of the 5 Buick/GMC dealers here. The closest ones were down in DFW area. So, the idea of just popping down to try it out, fall in love and buy one never happened. I just get the feeling that it's one of those cars that flies under the radar, but is secretly very good. To be honest real world price wise, the Stinger was suppose to be 49k, and yea msrp 52k but you are finding them upcharged with miles all over the place. You actually have to look for a decently priced Stinger GT. But the Buick on the other hand, for the 2018 model, witch has a few less perks then the 2019 you can find the Buick GS under 38k with miles, I think the Kia is still in "New hottness" mode.
This will be an amazing value on the used market in a year or two. Buick needs to brand build and undercut their competitors on their entry models to get some folks to come over and try them. Also who here wasn’t surprised to see the 3.6 NA in this.
Julius Alexandria if you like the Giulia buy one. But put it up against Stinger, Audi A4, Mercedes A220, Dodge Charger, Lincoln MKZ, and 2020Cadillac CT4. I have an Alfa Romeo right now and it’s been great. Then again so was the Kia. My last two GM products had some issues.
But if you’re shopping reliability Toyota/Honda/Lexus/Acura are the top. I find them dull to drive but I owned Toyota in the past and my parents had a Honda never any issues.
Matt you should do a full comparison price, trim video/ Opinion video on the Kia Stinger GT vs. Buick Regal GS I like both of these cars, both have All Wheel Drive, The Buick is worth the money, very nice, also has great seats, nice interior, seems pretty quick. The Kia is faster, gorgeous interior, and has the better warranty. The Buick maybe due to being lighter, I felt handled better, Kia was quicker, the Buick also seemed like it had a quieter ride to me.
I'm not sure why people are comparing the 3.6TT Stinger GT to the GS. IMO, it should be the Stinger 2.0T AWD premium trim as a closer competitor. Priced almost identically, and the power differences are much more in line, with torque as a benchmark. Just my $.02.
@@StiltsRU985 the stinger gt doesnt have a 3.6tt, its a 3.3tt. and the buick regal GS is like a middle ground (in power) between the 2.0t and 3.3tt Stinger.

Matt Maran Motoring, Buick Regal GS is nice I don't like that bright red they should leave that color for the Fire Department. I like more darker colors like Metallic Red or Burgundy Red also maybe in the future Buick should boost up more the horse power from 310 to 365, I also noticed that the two front seats has no pockets but who knows maybe Buick will stop making the Buick Regal Sporty look but I could be wrong Thank You for posting.
Never seen a V6 model in the US only 2.0T due to Liberal Green anti HP standards. Think were more in tune with saving trees than saving Buick unfortunately
Nicholas Spolar The GS has much more cargo room with the hatchback, is more powerful yet runs regular gas, is about 0.5 sec quicker to 60 and in the 1/4 mile, and has a better shifting transmission (quick shifts and doesn't hunt for gears). The GS has GM's latest infotainment and a large digital display in the gauge cluster. The GS interior is a bit monotone, but IMO the TLX interior looks outdated (even still has a CD slot). The TLX will have better resale, but you can get $5k-$10k off the GS MSRP.

@@normt5463 I'm afraid that's not what's posted on the Buick website for the new model. Go on the website link I have provided, chose GS AWD, scroll down, and press the tab "Dimensions" and you'll see "Base Curb Weight" at 4270 pounds.
Here's the link: www.buick.com/sedans/regal-sportback-luxury-sedan/build-and-price/features/trims/table?section=Highlights§ion=Dimensions&styleOne=399978
Thanks for the correction. Other outlets reported the 3,800 number, not sure why.
@@MattMaranMotoring Matt was correct.

Even the bigger TourX 2.0T with torque vectoring AWD weighs under 3,800 lbs.

25:06 where is that? Im pretty sure I've been to that sheetz.

I spy the Buck Regal GS, Holden Commadore and the Vauxhall/Opel Insignia
Great review as always. Is this made in Germany (given that it’s based off the Opel)?
Thanks! Yep, these are built in Germany.
Matt Maran Motoring 🙏🏻😊
This will be an amazing value on the used market in a year or two. Buick needs to brand build and undercut their competitors on their entry models to get some folks to come over and try them. Also who here wasn’t surprised to see the 3.6 NA in this.
A. Ery hood deal today at $33K or about $7,000 off MSRP on autotrader.
The Regal is one of the most underrated cars. But the base version is much better value, there are offers for $20k (with 250 hp and 9-speed).
Ya i agree. I love this car, but the financing and leasing isnt good in Canada right now.
Is there an aftermarket turbo that could be added to this 3.6?
Dude it's a damn Buick, used to go to Walmart. Get a proper car if you want a turbo.
if you are ambitious anything can go turbo even with the stock supercharger is still on it , note ambition is key , money comes in as well
Hey Matt when will the Nissan Maxima review come out?
Next Wednesday.
Do you remember if it had auto stop/start of the engine? Hopefully not since its a 'sports coupe'
It does
Looks exactly like The 2018 Holden Commodore VXR
Much faster around the Nurburgring than the old 2.8T too!
That's because its the same car.
"Thats Not A Buick"
i hate you
Well it isnt. It's still amazing tho.
Ugh these are hard to find and I'd really like one.
It looks like an Opel
The rest of the world gets the Chevy while Buick has more sound deadening and Active Noise Cancellation.
@Nai `Son too late...PSA now!
Could you recommend a more reliable alternative to the Alfa Romeo Giulia?
Kia Stinger GT is the runner-up in my opinion.
I even tried out the Maserati Ghibli not extra reliable but god it sounded/performed amazing. Just drive what you love and truly want.
@@StiltsRU985 the stinger gt doesnt have a 3.6tt, its a 3.3tt. and the buick regal GS is like a middle ground (in power) between the 2.0t and 3.3tt Stinger.
a good effort by buick. engine sounds good. with another 100hp it would be competetive with the kia stinger.
I'd say it already is just based on the price is 10k less. I didn't want to spend that much more to get another 55 hp - car was already expensive enough, lol
The bigger cup holder is probably for bigger coffee mugs or EXTRA LARGE Slurpeeeeee's
America size
The Oz version has a stop/start-off button...
Kia Stinger is making a name for itself to be mentioned in here and other videos.
Kinda want this for my retirement car. Just being forward thinking 🤔
whatever happened to your suburuwrxfan intro?
I changed the channel name about 2 years ago.
@@MattMaranMotoring lmao omg im sorry ive been living under a rock. ive been subscribed for years though. love your channel!
Haha no worries, thanks for being a subscriber and welcome back!
Nice Buick!
Wait a year and then buy, it will depreciate tremendously! It's a Buick.
RIP BUICK REGAL, now being discontinued in the united states. Had a good run.
They updated it for this year
GS or Acura tlx? regal is $2000 cheaper, would i be missing out on anything?
Nicholas Spolar The GS has much more cargo room with the hatchback, is more powerful yet runs regular gas, is about 0.5 sec quicker to 60 and in the 1/4 mile, and has a better shifting transmission (quick shifts and doesn't hunt for gears).
The GS has GM's latest infotainment and a large digital display in the gauge cluster. The GS interior is a bit monotone, but IMO the TLX interior looks outdated (even still has a CD slot).
The TLX will have better resale, but you can get $5k-$10k off the GS MSRP.
Re Sale Value would be my fear if I got the Buick
Ended up buying the buick at extreme discount, and used depreciation to my advantage, love the car!
Nicholas Spolar congrats, what color did you get?
Black, still get asked if its a buick by random people, just like the commercials, very comical
I prefer the wagon version.
So do we...so we bought a 2018 TourX.
Where is is assembled, Germany or USA?
Germany (Matt mentioned it in an older comment, I believe).
looks nice on the front end but the rear looks weird
Nice Mazda 6
Mazda wishes for V6 and awd sedan!
You forgot to mention the Arteon!
Fast forward to 12:00 you're welcome.
2019 elantra stole those taillights lol
Timing chain problem 😢
That steering wheel looks almost identical to the Ford Focus ST wheel, except for the Logo badge and the electronic controls
