Hi Ian , Great Video as always Matey . Just a quick question , Do you think the new buyer fees will Encourage more Scams ? I do a little Ebaying as a Private seller . I think its gonna Kill it ???
I was trying to think of the players who would have worn the Vodafone front shirt. I had Keane, vidic, heinze, jordi cryuff (all wrong apart from Keane 😂)
Those fact files really are driven purely by nostalgia! Brought back some good memories of flicking through those at school, but given all that info is readily available on the internet, the people buying them must be wearing rose-tinted glasses! Football shirts always seem to do better when there's a player's name on the back...unless it's an armchair player! 😂
I think a lot of the stuff that we all sell is driven purely by nostalgia!! Its strange how the graphics on a ring binder can bring that nostalgic feeling though. Ha 'armchair player'... good phrase
@MasterofPieces for that price, you couldn't leave it there. Since I've been listing more items I've noticed that I'm finding more great finds in the wild as well. Your last video also inspired me to start the year off by having a BIG clear out at home so I'm in the process of doing that as well. Keep up the great work, I'm looking forward to seeing the next video with some big sales updates hopefully 🤞
Evening Ian, was down your way last 2 days with work and picked up a load of Schleich Dinos in Haverfordwest, something I wouldn't have looked twice at if it wasn't for 'Schleich Donkey' in a video from a while ago 😀
Hi ian..im new to reselling and have watched your journey for a while now...can you help with pricing items...do you check the sold comps on how much they sell for as buy it now or sold by auction to get your ballpark price..many thanks
I use both... i also look at how many have sold vs how many are listed to judge popularity. I look at how many are currently listed. End of the day I price to make the amount of money I'm happy with
Buy Now will give you the best idea of true value. You have to find a balance of the Solds price and the price of those already listed for sale. If 'sell through rate' is high you can match the price of other listings, if it's a slow mover then may have to undercut those already listed 👍🏻
Yeah, united shirt defo legit and in a very good condition. I found mine with Beckham on, but all the letters have come off it 😢 but some great finds once again that jellycat collection is going to be massive, and you're only in January lol
@MasterofPieces and to top it off, Beckham left the year after, and that was the only shirt I ever got printed, so I was gutted and never got any other players on any other shirts after that 1
Been watching the Lego sets in Caerphilly for ages. They went in their side window couple weeks before Xmas. Been wanting the Batman sets but the prices are just too high......
you really need to refocus , spending hours in shops looking for single items is madness ! get online to local auction sites, all done from home, except collection obviously. it can take time but you have time to research and when you win big it really pays off ! a couple of my best buys are an ex model makers collection five boxes for £45 sold for over £1000 and 3 boxes of warhammer for £500 sold for £1600
If you don’t find joy going around charity shop that’s up to you doesn’t mean nobody else does Rob. I think he’s pretty focused in the way that he needs to be.
Sourcing in shops and carboots is the fun part , he's selling online alongside his full-time job so doesn't need to do what you do everybody's goal is different
How about this Robert... My best buy from a shop was a few items for £45 and selling for £900ish (not to dissimilar to your £45 to £1000) and in this video I spent about £100 with reselling value of £300 (similar ROI to your warhammer boxes). By hitting the shops I'm outside engaging with people, still researching, getting a bit of exercise and able to create content off the back of it. Personally I couldn't sit behind a computer screen for hours sifting through auctions sites/vinted/facebook etc... Everyone to their own my friend.
Every item I sell brings a profit and extra money into the house hold (and all done entirely in my spare time as a hobby). Not many other hobbies provide that
Question, have you ever thought that taking cheap clothing and shoes away from charity shops, means that people who need access to cheap clothing (which is partly what charity shops are set up for) then dont have access to those clothes? What if someeone desperately needs a winter coat, you go in and buy it purely to sell for profit, so that person who needs a coat, doesnt have access to it? Its a genuine question and not a 'troll' comment, i just want to know how resellers get over that hurdle? Its a moral maze out there, but that to me is a legitimate concern.
A good question David. The way I see it is today I went to around 10 charity shops and each one had lots of clothes/shoes at various sizes. I bought 2 large t shirts from one shop and there were at least 50 other large t shirts left in that shop, let alone all the clothing available in the other shops. What really has hit home for me is seeing charity shop staff filling bin bags full on clothes/shoes/toys etc.. ready for recycling as no one was buying them. In that instance, no one benefits. The shops rely on our trade.
@@MasterofPieces nice thoughtful answer, it was a genuine question, so I'm glad you didn't just respond with 'troll' or something similar. With a moral point today view, there isn't really a right or wrong answer. Alot of those collections sent out by charity shops go abroad, so they do get used.

Cheers Paul appreciate it... and yes I'm really enjoying making these too!!.
Looks like a nice lot of Her majesty’s armed forces figures at 5:39.. looks like a fast jet pilot in there too, £20 figure👍..love your channel
I just thought they looked like cheap modern action men so didnt look any closer. Sounds like I missed something there
I like the concept and hope you complete the challenge,so many start then it’s never heard of again.
Good luck
Oh I'm all in on it Wayne.... even if it takes all year 😂
I like your enthusiasm. You also have quite a different knowledge set from other resellers I watch, so very interesting. cheers
I love selling the items that I find interesting myself... I think thats where the love of finding them comes from
Great video as always Ian, looking forward to watch the flip challenge 😊 over the next few months 👍
Same here... I just hope I get to the £5k mark in the next few months and we're not all here doing it in 3 years time haha
Hi Ian , Great Video as always Matey . Just a quick question , Do you think the new buyer fees will Encourage more Scams ? I do a little Ebaying as a Private seller . I think its gonna Kill it ???
Smashing it already Ian that's what we like to see love the new format if the videos nice little intro 👍
Cheers Rob appreciate it mate :)
Great watch this ! Had a vlog feel about it .. looking forward to see how the challenge goes
That's the style I'm going for. Glad you enjoyed it :)
Great video Ian, really like this new video style !
cheers Daniel, appreciate it!!
Thats sound really is the best lol
Could be having a sh*t day but you hear that cha ching and its smiles all round 😂
Always makes me jump when I hear it lol
@shannonhayes3504 haha yeah if I have my airpods in, it comes on very loud 🤣
@@Rabbit420_7I0 😂 I'd prob have a heart attack if that happened to me
😂 I have my phone on silent too so rarely hear it!!
@@MasterofPieces yeah my phone is on silent 99% of the time
But I always get notifications when using headphones 🤣
looks like your on a roll ian keep it going 👍
Got to keep that momentum up!!
Cheers Ian some great sales and pickups 😊👍
Cheers panzer nice one
omg the wildlife fact file hit me with so much nostalgia lol
Ha same as soon as I saw it!!
If i see an item i know is worth considerably more i always give them extra as we're both helping each other and i feel better when selling
Cool video ian some nice pickups
cheers Shaun, appreciate it :)
That Man Utd shirt was legit, I used to have that back in the day. One of my favourites too, reminds me of nistlerooy.
I was trying to think of the players who would have worn the Vodafone front shirt. I had Keane, vidic, heinze, jordi cryuff (all wrong apart from Keane 😂)
Adding to your ps3 collection? where lol the shelf looked (packed full :D
Smashing it as always,
I also don't like the bow on that shelf 😂😂. I'll have to put in another i think
Penguin Jellycat!!!!!
Absolutely love the bears 😍
I cannot believe someone donated those to a charity shop!!
@ I know ,they mustn’t have known what they are worth

I would say that the Man Utd top was my favourite find (Chelsea fan here), it's always great seeing some older legit tops in charity shops.
And at a reasonable price and condition too. So many are expensive compared to condition!!
@MasterofPieces for that price, you couldn't leave it there. Since I've been listing more items I've noticed that I'm finding more great finds in the wild as well. How long do you wait before dropping the listing price on items? I find it hard to resist when something hasn’t sold in a couple of weeks
I don;t tend to drop the price... its something i need to get better at.

Cheers Pinkpalmpuff :). First comment #winner 🏆
I did two sales in Jan so far. Total £400 , about £260 profit after postage and fees
sounds a great start to the year to me
A bit steep for the Lego technic corvette. Retails at £65. Do look for the Porsche 911 in Lego Technic. Sealed and opened boxes go for good money.
I may have a porsche 911 technic set stored away ;)
@MasterofPieces I may have one stored away too. 🙌
I reckon that Jellycat is a Bartholemew bear
Still not sure tbh... this one looks thinner
Is the bear bartholomew bear perhaps?
Batholomew bear looks a bit more chubby.... this is why i'm finding it hard to identify
I'd of picked up all them man it's shirts £6 is a bargain check the codes for authentication
Looked like a 2007 shirt there too can go for quiet a bit
the cracked AIG logos really put me off. Just looked on ebay and good condition ones sell for a fair bit!!
@MasterofPieces fare enough there collectable tho and the prints can be sorted
Can't believe you just stabbed yourself in the leg with a lightsaber. You ok mate? 😂
haha do not try this at home!!! I am a trained professional toy lightsabre wielder
Been watching the Lego sets in Caerphilly for ages. They went in their side window couple weeks before Xmas. Been wanting the Batman sets but the prices are just too high......
Yeah they were pricey there... some nice sets tho
Bartholomew near I think for the jellycat
Bear!
I'm not sure tbh... bartholomew looks a bit podgy... this one's a bit more lean
i do it the same way stick to pot money or you dont see profit
thats what i'm trying to do more of... too much listed/unlisted stock thats costing me money
Toss up between Bartholomew & Bumbly bear… I’d be inclined to go bumbly due to the fur pattern and shape of his nose.
I agree... I'm going with Bumbly bear... seems to be the right proportions
Toy Story Lego set has Twitch figure, 75 + if complete and good condition.
Doesn't look like the antennae are there :(
@@MasterofPieces Shame, be a figure to keep hold of, keeps going up in value.

Should have got man Utd shirts at £6 bargain still make money on them
I'd have picked up all those Utd shirts for sure (if legit)
I did pick up two... the Vodafone one and the one with the half decent AIG logo on the front. The cracked AIG logos I left
@@MasterofPieces Unless they're completely trashed, they'd still be worth picking up. Classic Football Shirts buy quite a lot of my shirts off Ebay
Rio never played number 6 at united played number 5
Haha brilliant.
Just looked it up and 02/03 season he was number 6
That first charity shop needs to check condition off the clothes before they put them out 😮.
Usually it's not too bad tbf or they mark as 'sold as seen'
Cex taking DVDs? 😂 Ih yeah if you want to lose money, 1p a dvd and thats if they even wsnt to
Sirmugman
tenner trade in, fiver cash for Dexter complete box set DVDs
@MasterofPieces lucky you even box sets and blue rays are 1p trade or cash
Jellycat fuddlewuddle puppy
Just looked it up and not a puppy... defo a bear
I sold a Chinese one for £100
Chinese what??? Charlie bear?
@ no sorry man should have said I sold a Chinese Course for £100
Oh the linguaphone set!! Wow that's a good sale!!
How you lot make any money selling this junk at those rubbish prices I dont know?
Too much effort for so little return if you ask me.

Charity shops primary business model is to raise money for their charity, not necessarily to provide cheap goods for the needy 👍🏼
