大和ミュージアム 戦艦大和 Battleship Yamato at Yamato Museum

呉市海事歴史科学館（大和ミュージアム）に展示されている大日本帝国海軍・戦艦大和の10分の1スケールの模型で、全長26.3メートルです。戦艦大和は呉海軍工廠で建造され、1941年12月16日に就役しましたが、1945年4月7日に九州南海上でアメリカ海軍と交戦し沈没しました。大日本帝国海軍最強の戦艦であったことから、日本人にとって太平洋戦争の象徴的な存在となっています。
This is a 1/10th scale model of the Imperial Japanese Navy's battleship Yamato, which is on display at the Kure Maritime Museum (Yamato Museum), and has a total length of 26.3 meters. The battleship Yamato was built at the Kure Naval Arsenal and commissioned on December 16, 1941, but on April 7, 1945, she engaged the U.S. Navy in the southern waters of Kyushu and sank. As she was the strongest battleship of the Imperial Japanese Navy, she has become a symbol of the Pacific War for the Japanese people.
