Excellent video thanks Dronescapes. Good to hear about Gunther Rall and his time in the war. I've seen this guy on a few other documentaries before. He reminds me of my Opa.
Fascinating stories, wonderful history and absolutely brilliant characters now sadly mostly no longer with us. I can strongly recommend Gunther's great book "My Logbook" as a definite read for war buffs, what a great pilot he was and so were many on all sides in a totally unnecessary war brought on by Adolph Hitler just 21 years after the First World War, the so called War to end all Wars! Brilliant video, thank you for this, excellent work.
Unfortunately the greed of the allied nations after WW1, was pretty much insured WW2 would happen, with or without Hitler...Hitler just laid all of Germanys issues on the Jewis, and "undesirables", which lead to the holocaust...
I wonder when the English language interview with Günther Rall was filmed.. Looks as the most recent you can find on the internet.. He died in 2009 age 91..
in italy we hadn't "real planes", but when came the time of a few good planes, re2002, macchi 202-5, almost all of our pilots sad the p47 was formidable, but enormous, indeed a good and easy target if it tried to manouver aganist our few good planes. The big advantage over all fighters in the war was, for the p47, the engine. This engine was and still is a masterpiece
Sorry but you are wrong. Erich Rudorffer was the last Luftwaffe ace, he achieved 222 luftsiegen and served all through ww2. He served in the west, mediteranen, Russia and Defence of the Reich. He passed away in April 2016.

I have never met any veterans from Germany, Japan too bad. My father fought the Japanese, that too is sad.

You are not translating what Rall is saying. Lots of lies in this video. Cheaply made.
Dear Tom, this was made a while back by Air2Air. Can you please give us a few examples of what are you referring to? Thanks.
