‘Deep Fakes’ Are Becoming More Realistic Thanks To New Technology
The reason why the deep fake works so well for him is Bc there’s a huge resemblance already
With deepfake...you don't need to look like the person since the face of the other person is overplayed, and the seams feathered out to match skin tone.
That doesn't make this any better because you can easily find similar looking people
Also there's alot of Tom cruise footage from him having so many films
Trump has a huge resemblance too don't forget that..
Wrong deep fakes can be made 100 percent by CGI. No need for another person.
The fact that someone could sell off their rights of impersonation and give up how they are represented is insanity.
Designers have done this for decades. Given up their right to how their creations, even their own name, is used.
Lies again? Deeper Inside
This is very scary. Just wait until it gets into the wrong hands. Not good.
Exactly because people will pretend they are a celebrity and say meet me here
humans will abuse this technology, that's for sure
Lol, anyone can get this?
It was created BY the wrong hands
It's already in the wrong hands, being used in Washington. Question is whether it's being used for convenience or something more.
"The positives will far outweigh the negatives" made my jaw drop... Politics is already f***ed and it is... could you imagine indistinguishable faces involved with it?!?!?
"begins with ethics" no , it begins with making money
Exactly!
😮same thought. What a line. Begins with ethics?! How? Such bs
Well, if Tom Cruise didn't want to do movies anymore, this guy has a stand in job immediately.
🤣🤣
or make movies in bed lol
Identity theft at its worst. Great way to frame people for things they didn't do .
Can’t have some fun
@@Dave-mm5ge whoa interesting take. . Scary!
@@annacsillag7247 I mean movies and literature have be3n speculating about this since the 80s at least. It was always only a matter of time that the Uncanny Valley would be bridged.
Probably why the government wants this technology
CCTV footage of a crime will never be admissible in a court again.
**police body cams have left the chat**
This personality is more open, honest and relaxed. Would know without being deepfake it wasnt him. Seems normal and chill
Our whole government right now
IKR definitely
Imagine someone trying to discredit someone by putting out a video out there where a person is saying or doing something horrible when they didn’t say or did it. Imagine the public’s reaction to that video. There will be so much hate towards someone innocent. This is really really bad! It can destroy someone’s life.
The dude already could be one of tom’s bio kids…his resemblance+deepfake is a goldmine.
WoW! Scary implications 😳
Hay how areyou
you're ignorant, there is nothing dangerous about this tech
This is so scary. People are going to get framed for crimes and stuff!
Or start wars and make (or try to make) their county believe lies over truth
@@dawnjordan8869 Like that never happened in our history
@@dawnjordan8869 Don't need any deepfakes for that.
Ally'. Yes. The LEFTS on here can't see that. And biden is a deep fake. People notice how he looks and acts different. This is...why. His mind is gone, but deep fakes have him speaking....
@@Vasy2310 Well, now it is done better! NO TV, before. Only radio. This is evil.
This just screams 'danger'. Does anyone else get that vibe but they can't explain exactly why? Sirens just go off in my head. Like this is something dangerous. I just think 'danger' immediately
Because you are an ignoramus and have no clue what this tech is and how it works. Your fear is ignorance.
EGT; Yes, Me too. People can't see how this is horrible? Now, we know, why biden looks different and acts different. he is s DEEP FAKE....in more ways than one. DANGER, DANGER, DANGER. I AGREE.
Can you please not call Tom Cruise an “Oscar nominated” actor?
This! Thank you!
Why? Isn't he though?
This is very dangerous they need to get rid of it
Impossible
get rid of it?? ... so only a few have or know about it??
Haha thats not possible dud
That's like trying to un-invent guns or fire. It's already too late.
Nope. We can only embrace it. Unfortunately video evidence will eventually no longer be admissable in court.
No but for real. I really hope this guy gets some recognition. He would make a really good stunt double for Tom on those rare occasions he needs one 😂😂
Having a stunt double for Tom is like Bhutan having a navy.
The algorithm requires thousands of images from different angles and lighting conditions to create a deepfake. This is why it's mostly famous people getting deepfaked. There aren't enough images of regular people for it to be an issue yet.
The technology might improve in the future, but it's not there yet.
But it could also be used for political reasons - fake videos of opponents saying things that ruin their chances would spread like wildfire on Facebook.
@@dgoodall or, the opposite can be true.
Politicians can now claim expose video to be deepfakes.
@@davidjacobs8558 true. Though the human mind believes in what it has seen, so subsequent explanations will be less effective that the original video.
In a short time, the process went from taking weeks to days. The technology is advancing so quickly, days will become hours, and hours will become minutes. Let’s hope that detection technology is available to everyone and not just to power wielding entities that don’t want to share the truth. This is scary. Very, very scary.
@@dawnjordan8869 it will be real time.
ie, you can deepfake someone else's face on a live video.
No. Throw the whole thing away
This is only bad...there is nothing good about it...
Really? You don't see anything good that could come from this technology? Like maybe historical recreations with the actual faces of the people, or say an actor passed away mid movie that movie could now be finished. Or imagine implementing this technology into video games where you could scan your own face into a VR world
For Hollywood it is good. Especially with the horrible deaging fx we've seen lately.
@@dawickedj do you believe movies are there to entertain you?
I believe this technology is already in the wrong hands. This is scary. Very scary.
No it's not. It's been around for years and still nothing has happened. It's not a viable technology to use against masses of people, too many VFX artists that understand how this tech works. If you are a naive and very stupid blind individual and get scammed, then maybe.
Almost like a villain story in the making. He couldn’t make it as an actor on his own so uses technology to take over another’s identity to capitalize on.
THIS IS VERY SCARY
There’s something odd with his diction cause the real Tom Cruise doesn’t talk like that.
It works because he has about 80% resemblance to tom cruise. However, Hollywood could use it for stunt doubles.
They already are. Face replacements on stunt doubles is aleady a thing.
Its all fun until it gets dangerous and out of control!
Whoa 😳 🤯 I can’t tell if this is cool or scary which is it?
I wouldn’t use the word cool as that term implies some kind of goodness about it. Incredible and scary is more like it.
That was a great question she said… I definitely think it should be legality to have these deepfakes “marked” or made known of somehow!
4:32 "Ume is such a good actor." These people don't know what they are talking about, do they?
It's morally neutral? I don't think so.
Imagine this: Daniel Craig doing a deepfake of Putin confessing to war crimes and resigning, then handing it to Anonymous for hacking into Russian state television.
I wonder what Tom thinks? Bc personally, this is terrifying and I don't see what good could possibly come from it. This is simply not needed and shouldn't be pursued.
Imagine you got a WhatsApp visual meeting with your wife and she asked you for your pin number for the ATM machine because she forgot it?...
Why are you doing this now? What’s coming out? 🤣
Real Tom Cruise is dead
Thought that was the guy from final destination 5 😂
It is the guy from final destination 5! Omgg
What sorcery is this... at one point, it looked like he morphed into Christian Bale 1:30
Yes, pause at 1:32, Miles actually looks like Bale from the side. Wow :O.
@@croissantlover1 yes definitely.
Tom is working on a new movie about the life of a man with chronic constipation, its called Motion Impassable.
this is a bad idea if it falls into the hands of bad people
Dude looks more like Dave Franco than Tom Cruise in real life
Still looks fake.
AF
Haters gonna hate
This is so realistic, Tom Cruse for the life of him can't remember when he learned to play guitar, and why he forgot how.
This tech could be used to give any murder suspect an alibi. "Hey, I was at this baseball game and I have the video evidence to prove it!"
Remember God loves you!!♥️
John 3:16
For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life.
Please turn your life around and repent.🙏
the clock is ticking...
The basis of this project is on ethics!!!!!
Joke of the century !
There are already laws on the books regarding the use of someone's "likeness".
Now this technology is scary
What's the point of this? In the wrong hands this is awful.
ua-cam.com/video/o2DDU4g0PRo/v-deo.html
On his PhD thesis he says " My approach generates compelling and believable videos from audio that enable a range of important applications such as lip-reading for hearing-impaired people, video bandwidth reduction, and creating digital humans which are central to entertainment applications like special effects in films". I know it doesn't help much....
I just saw it on Instagram and immediately thought it sounded nothing like Tom Cruise and mannerisms were different. But I was like nobody should look so much like another person unless they are related so immediately searched it on UA-cam so here I am.
Really? I thought the actor's Tom Cruise voice, as well as his mannerisms, were off the chart convincing. He's a talented guy, and I'm not surprised he had so many fooled!
Not every 'deep fake' will be as good as this Tom Cruise one, because most performers won't be as spookily accurate as he is in their appearance and impersonation.
This is gonna get in the wrong HANDS. Smh
It will. Sooner or later. Not good🙄
It already has
Only workaround is police investigation should change but i think the software which can modify video can also detect whether its deep fake or not using the same ai
Wow, this technology is so cool. Right up until the moment when the cops show up at your door to arrest you for something you didn't do.
It’s crazy because I watched the queens recent Xmas speech and at 6:42 her face morphed for like 1/1000th of a second… I swear. And then a few hours later I show my friend and it was edited….
Coincidence they showed her speech on here? 🤷♂️
I've heard many people claim she died a while ago. It wouldn't surprise me.
What they are not telling people is this is already being used widely especially with politicians. Look at Biden do you really think it’s him? He has been deceased I believe since 2018. I have noticed it with people like Pelosi, Obama, Tom Hanks who is believed to be executed already yet he keeps reappearing all the time. I think good motto would be don’t believe everything you see we are being deceived all the time. 9/11 and those “planes” crashing into WTC is one of the huge deceptions played on those who believe everything they see.
That guy makes a likeable Tom Cruise. 😮
He could also do Christian Bale with no filter!
He doesn't need deepfake to impersonate Christian Bale 😂
Eventually video game developers will release engines to easily load NPC's with celebrities faces.
Seems very dangerous, only good thing: actors can stay in business forever and representing any age.
nothing dangerous about it
@@evolicious It can be dangerous. People could use this to trick others out of money.
The actor behind the deepfake looks like what you would get if Tom Cruise and Christian Bale had a baby.
I almost broke that computer screen jumping over the desk…
How come you do it, Miles? Just curious, no hate. The jump itself was impressive but I don't agree with the tech, but my opinion.
I noticed that too 🤣
Anyone else concerned if they deep fake the president who announces an imminent nuclear war and people just go into panic mode???
so is this what they did with the damar interview?
That’s exactly what I was thinking because that most certainly wasn’t him on that screen 👀
AI is mind-blowing and extremely scary. They could use it for the wrong reason and use it to criminally take an innocent to jail or put them to death. AI you can't control cause it can't be contained.
The interviewer perfect actor for Andrew Garfield
humans who have no identity.. where is your heart?? Who are you ?? be yourself.. God created you be yourself..your life is full of fakes..never be grateful for yourself
This is scary I promise you there is a load of BS coming to the people using this technology.
@Tom Cruise I’m not a fan
Believe none of what you hear and half of what you see…
Well it's not 100%. You can tell the head floats at times, and also he is not in shape physically. Tom is pretty jacked. Like he does not have the average skinny guy build. He is also not gross body builder. But a sane medium. But he is buff. The body gives it away as well.
But it's like prosthetics if you already look close to the person you are playing, it takes less work.
Okay just imagine: deepfake news anchors, reporters, journalists, politicians, congressmen and women.. presidents.. 😦🤣😶
Safeguarding public figures from deepfake exploitation is a shared responsibility. As consumers of digital content, let's actively support measures that protect the reputation and security of individuals in the public eye, recognizing the potential consequences of unchecked deepfake dissemination.
He actually looks more like Christian bale but he sounds exactly like Tom
Yeah, maybe Tom and Christian mix.
Came here to say this. I thought he was Christian when I saw him in the movie "Believe Me"
When I first saw this guy in "Believe Me", I thought it was Christian Bale.
in "ALL" honesty, it's comforting to me to read that most of you are civilized folks and understand how dangerous this is even though it's pretty cool technology.
So many of you can see the danger and that's the start to putting an end to something that might have the ability to cause a 3rd world war. This tech in the hands of the Gov could lead them to show us anything they want us to see regardless if it's real or not.
For some reason the show Total Recall ( the first one ) comes to mind here. Just have your dream holidays implanted into your brain and you're good to go.
I think people overreact. It will be the same as now you don't trust photos. So in future general public will not trust videos without expertise that it is real. Even now many governments regularly spread fake videos.
Why is Christian Bale impersonating Tom Cruise?
how can you use tom cruise face without paying him?...these are all lawsuits in the making
The government reached out they want to know how it's done LOL sounds fishy
This should be illegal. Actors' looks are part of their "product" . It's like making copies of fake luxury bags. This should be illegal too.
This is not going to end well
Its also Ume’s talent. Theres a lot of work and expertise of vfx that goes into this to make it seamless. Ume is being far too humble and media reporters are largely ignorant making it sound like 3 click executions.
The technology is more advanced than this. You don’t need a person to paint onto. This is old technology.
If he can get an accent down, he can nail Christian Bale as well. ;-)
He needs to do Michael Scott next.
Miles Fisher looks alot like Steve Carrel too 😂 The reporters need to be more assertive as they got the whole thing wrong by Saying Ume is a great actor. Chris Ume is the Belgian visual arts guy and Miles is the actor.
Yall really think this a JOKE huh... there's one of YOU too .. thank SOCIAL MEDIA😅
They’re dreaming if they think an a-list actor would risk control of their image.
Hes already his doppelganger
Adam Schiff is the absolute last person to be in charge of security matters!!! The ABSOLUTE last one on the planet!!
He looks more like Christian Bale.
When I saw the video thumbnail, my immediate thought was that he looks more like Christian Bale.
"Don't let it fall into the wrong hands."😂😂😂😂
There was a movie in the 80's they scanned and digitized actors, then used those scans to create movies. The actors started to have deadly accidents, the company had life insurance on the actors and kept the rights to the scans. Can't think of the name of the movie
YOU CAN SEE CLEARY BY WHAT THIS ACTOR SAYS THAT HE HAS NO SENSE OF ETHICS
No
Face ID is the best data collector tool of human faces for training A.I
He looks only s little bit like Tom Cruise but looks more like Christian Bale
They used a deepfake as a supreme leader in the film Equilibrium.
We’re really in Mission Impossible now ! Watch it !
This guy is as good looking as Tom cruise. Seems to share a lot of the same charisma too.
I really can’t imagine a non-nefarious reason for deepfakes
"Is there a way to know when this is fake?"
Hopefully as it becomes increasingly difficult to discern 'fiction' from reality; we find ourselves moving towards a world where idols/celebrities/brands can no longer profit from simply being well known and we grow to care more about the QUALITY of something rather than WHO makes it. Very exciting times!
Xavier; Wait till someone makes a deep fake on you and tells a bunch of lies.....you don't see evil?
If it’s suspicious, I would look at the lighting transition from face to neck. There’s also the resolution difference. Of course this will become difficult to tell in the future as the technology becomes more sophisticated.
Right now and for years to come they can look at the image one frame at a time I see the alterations. Think of it like Johnny Depp and Amber heard metadata Stuff they were talking about.
AI Will be at war with itself just like humans are with radar detectors and radar guns from the police. Evolving technology is a wonderful thing
Ume is a great actor, she says. Ume? Ume is not an actor. But Fisher is. :)
His face looks like Tom Cruise, but with a little bit of Christian Bale mixed in.
This is sickening!! Before all jobs can be substituted by machines put a stop to this nonsense
